Chapter 313 - Stupid Girl!

Menedelia's heart stopped beating after seeing the figure floating in the ocean.

Holy cow! It's no other than Nini!

"No, this can't be!" she groaned in shock and dismay.

She quickly pulled Nini's body into the shore. "What have you done!?"

She began giving Nini a chest compression, alternately breathing into her mouth, trying to resuscitate her.

"Stupid girl!" she said over and over again, furious that the girl tried to kill herself by jumping into the ocean.

A few minutes later.

A miracle thing happened.

Nini began coughing, and her mouth released salty water.

"Come on! Flush out all the salty water from your body!" Menedelia urged her as a sense of relief washed over her.

Nini coughed some more water out of her mouth. "Granny, w-where is my husband?" she finally managed to ask between coughs, dreading the answer that she's going to hear. She remembered that she attacked her husband without mercy in her snake form, she can't stop her savage nature, as if she was possessed by a strong aura, completely taking control over her mind and body.

Menedelia released a deep sigh. "You transformed into a giant snake! Your husband has to bring you here so that you can't harm anyone. But in the end...y...you attacked him to death..." she replied sadly.

Fresh tears emerged in Nini's eyes. "I lost control! And I killed my husband! I don't deserve to live anymore! You shouldn't have saved me, Granny! I deserved to die!" she said hysterically and began sobbing hard.

Menedelia released a deep sigh. "Stop blaming yourself! You didn't do it on purpose. The enemy force you to do it!" she scolded her.

Nini looked at Granny. "Where is that person? I will kill him!" she said angrily.

"Calm down. He's gone! I have no idea where to find him. Let's not talk about him right now. I need you to pull yourself together and come with me," Menedelia said.

"Granny wait... where is my husband? Is he dead?" Nini asked in a low voice, her heart was breaking inside, fearing for the worst.

Menedelia took a deep breath. "I brought your dying husband to my sister's place. She is very skillful when it comes to herbal medicines. She told me that she will give Zero 24 hours to live. If he's still breathing after the period is over then, he has a high chance of surviving his wounds," she explained.

"Please, take me there! Let's go there right now!" Nini said urgently. "I want to see my husband and apologize for what I have done to him!" she said in a frantic voice.

"Wait a minute... I want you to remember a few things first before we go there..." Menedelia said.

"What is it? Please tell me, Granny. I will do everything that you want me to do as long I will see my husband again!" Nini begged.

"First, you can't tell my sister that you are the one who hurt your husband. If she found out that you did that vicious thing to him, she will throw you out of the house. Let's create an alibi first. It goes like this... that I found your husband in the forest attacked by a giant snake and I save him. That I know your family well because you are my client in my fortune-telling business. You went to me to seek my help in finding out the whereabouts of your husband that went missing in the forest during hunting with his friends. Then I come to your house to inform you about your husband's situation after I found him dying with snake bites in the forest. Did you get the whole story?" Menedelia asked.

"Yeah, I got it!" Nini nods her head in understanding.

"Good! Let's go back first to the capital in your room so that you can get rid of that wet clothes and change into dry clothing. Then pack some clothes for you and your husband. We also need to inform your family that you and Zero are okay, or else they will be worried to death if they don't hear any news from us," Menedelia said.

"Okay," Nini sighed deeply. Tears shimmered in her eyes.

Menedelia fell silent for a moment, then she patted the distraught girl's shoulder, comforting her. She can't bring herself to tell her that her sister Angela was taken away by the enemy. It will be too much for Nini to accept on the eve of her wedding day.

"Granny, I'm ready to go!" Nini spoke.

"Okay, let's teleport back to the capital now," Menedelia said.

The women vanished from the hill and teleported back into the capital. They landed inside Nini's room.

Menedelia gave her instruction. "You changed your clothes and packed your stuff. I will find your parents to inform them that you're here in your room," she said.

Nini nodded her head, she went to the closet, grabbed some clothes then entered the bathroom.

Menedelia exited Nini's room and went to the master's bedroom, knocking gently on the door.

The door was opened by Tony. "Granny, where are Nini and Zero? Did you find them?" he asked right away.

"Yes. Where is your wife?" she asked.

"Come in! She's lying on the bed, still in shock," Tony said.

Menedelia entered the room. "Did you and your men found Angela?"

Tony shook her head sadly. "We didn't find her..."

Menedelia released a deep sigh. She went to bed and looked at the devastated Evelyn, the woman was crying her heart out.

"Tell us what happened to Nini and Zero!?" Tony asked. He grabbed a chair and put it beside the old woman. "Have a seat..." he said.

Menedelia lowered herself on the chair and cleared her throat. "I found Nini and Zero at the top of the hill. Nini has transformed herself into a giant snake, she was about to deliver a death blow to her husband, but I arrived on time and subdue her. I immediately teleported the dying zero into my sister's place, she is a gifted healer. As of now, Zero's wounds are already being taken care of and administered with herbal medicine. My sister said that if Zero remained breathing after 24 hours which is a critical period, then he will survive and continue to live," she concluded her explanation. She omitted the information where she found Nini floating in the water unconscious, it might be too much for Evelyn to digest at her current state.

Tony heaved a troubled sigh.

"I only have one request. Let's not inform Nini yet that her sister was taken away by the enemy, she might break down," Menedelia told them.

Tony and Evelyn nodded their head in agreement with Menedelia's request.

"After you talk to her, I will bring Nini to my sister's house so that she can take care of her husband. Zero will remain in my sister's house until he recovers. Don't worry, I will visit here often to report to you guys about the couple's condition," she assured them.

"Thank you so much, Granny, for helping us. We owe you a lot," Tony stated.

"Don't mention it," Menedelia spoke, taking pity of Evelyn's wretched condition.

The door opened, Nini entered her parent's room, tears shimmered in her eyes. She rushed to her mother's side. The mother and daughter's painful crying began as they embraced each other.

Tony watched his wife and daughter crying helplessly, tears glistened in his eyes.

Menedelia sighed inwardly. How ironic, she just wants to earn some income through this wealthy family. She never expected that the past comes knocking at her door, bringing tragedy after tragedy. It's a dire situation that even if she will detach herself at this very moment, she can never run away.

Time to face how, why, and where it all started.

A moment later.

Tony and Menedelia left the room.

"Granny, do you know that intruder?" Tony asked her directly.

Menedelia shook her head. "No! Tonight is the first time I saw him," she lied.

"I'm confused where to begin finding them since I don't know who is that person. I don't know where they are staying in the capital," Tony voiced out his confusion and difficulty in solving such a complex situation that his family was facing right now.

Menedelia asked something out of topic. "Um... my lord, are the visitors gone back to their home?" she inquired.

"Yes, I told them that the party has to end early because my wife is not feeling well. At least everyone went home with a filled stomach. I never told them what happened, or it will cause a commotion," he replied.

"No one was hurt?" Menedelia asked, remembering the poison that was put in the wine. If she didn't discover that insidious plan in advance, all the 300 guests will end up dead tonight along with the entire Helix Vanguard Clan residing in the vast property.

"Thankfully no one was hurt among the guest, but my daughter was kidnapped by the enemies! And I have no idea where to find her!" he said, gritting his teeth in anger.

Menedelia shakes her head woefully. "I'm so sorry about what happened to Angela. I hoped we can find her soon!" she said.

Tony sighed deeply, his face contorted with anxiety. "Come with me to my study room. I will give you something," he said.

Menedelia followed the lord into his study room.

Tony opened one of the drawers of the cabinet and took a pouch filled with golden coins and gave it to the old woman. "Used the money to pay your sister for her services in saving my son-in-law and for letting the couple live in her house for a few days. Come back here if you need more money to support their living expenses there," he said.

Menedelia accepted the money. "Thank you, my lord!" she said.

"Let's go back to the room," Tony spoke and walked towards the door.

They left the study room and went back to the bedroom.

The two women were no longer crying.

Menedelia looked at Nini. "Let's go," she said.

Evelyn looked at Menedelia. "Please take care of my daughter," she said, her eyes swollen with so much crying.

"Don't worry, my lady. I will take care of your daughter," Menedelia said, assuring her in a comforting voice.

The women left the bedroom and went back to Nini's room.

Menedelia put back the bracelet in Nini's right hand. "Don't remove this bracelet out of your hand ever again!" she warned her firmly.

"Okay," Nini nodded her head, fresh tears emerged in her eyes.

"Alright, let's go!" Menedelia said and grabbed Nini's hand.

They teleported into the manor where Ebony lives.
