Chapter 310 - Journey To Memory Lane

Evelyn was applying makeup on Nini's face, while Angela was styling the bride's hair.

Menedelia glanced at the clock on the wall. A few hours from now, the wedding ceremony will start.

Nini looked at the old woman. "Granny, did you see that dress on the couch? That's for you. Please wear it during the ceremony," she requested.

Menedelia smiled. "Aw, thank you for the dress!" she said and went to the couch. She picked up the gold sequence-colored dress and inspected it.

Evelyn glanced at the old woman. "That's one of the gowns that I haven't wear for a long time. I hope you like it," she said.

Menedelia looked at Evelyn. "Thank you so much for giving me something presentable to wear for today's special event," she said.

Evelyn smiled and resumed beautifying her daughter's face.

Menedelia lowered herself on the couch and watched the women getting busy in front of the dresser table.

One hour later, the two women finished fixing the bride's face, hair, and also her wedding dress.

Evelyn stared at her daughter in awe. "Perfect!" she said, feeling proud of being Nini's mother, tears glistened in her eyes.

Angela smiled brightly. "You're the most beautiful bride I've ever seen in my entire life!" she gushes.

A few minutes later, Evelyn and Angela left the room to prepare themselves for the wedding.

Nini looked at Menedelia. "Granny, wear your dress now!' she said excitedly.

Menedelia picked up the gown and entered the bathroom to change. A few minutes later, she exited the bathroom and went to the dresser table to see how she looks like in the gown given to her by Evelyn.

Nini went to her side. "You look amazing in the gown, Granny!" she raved.

Menedelia smiled. 'I will look much better with my true self!' She thought to herself. But the mirror was showing her old image, the ugly image that comes with the curse.

Nini saw the sadness on Menedelia's face. "What's wrong, Granny?" she asked.

Menedelia heaved a sigh and shook her head. "Nothing, I just remember something... sad events in my past life," she said.

Nini rubbed the old woman's back to comfort her, then she went back to the sofa.

Menedelia snapped herself back to the present. It's not the time to feel emotional! An enemy will come tonight, and she needs to focus her mind on finding who the enemy is to avoid having many casualties tonight. She looked at her image in the mirror one last time.

But Nini was already on her side. "Sit down, Granny. I will fix your hair," she said.

Menedelia obeyed and sat on the chair facing the mirror.

Nini picked up the brush and began combing Granny's hair.

Menedelia stared at Nini's face in the mirror.

She was transported back in time, thirty years ago.

One night.

She was sitting on the chair of the dresser table in a spacious room. Evelyn was styling her hair while she was looking at the colorful makeup kit in front of her. "What are these things?" she asked curiously.

Evelyn giggled. "They're my mother's makeup kit! I borrowed them for a while. I will return them later back to her room," she said.

"Where is your, Mother?" she asked.

"Attending ball party with my father. Teenagers are not allowed in there because people will do kinky stuff, so I'm left here in the house tonight with the servants and the nannies already sleeping in the next room," Evelyn explained. "Don't move much! I will begin applying makeup on your face," she said.

Mende allowed her human friend Evelyn to apply the colorful makeup on her face. She loves hearing Evelyn's giggle and her bright smile. "Humans are beautiful beings already, why would you need makeup to enhance your face?" she asked out of the blue.

Evelyn shrugged. "I dunno why..." then she giggled and continue her activity. "I don't use them on my face, but I like using and trying them on your face. I'm having fun doing it," she said, snickering.

Mende pinched Evelyn's nose. "You're just practicing on my face!" she pouted.

"Don't move! The makeup will be ruin!" Evelyn chastised her.

Mende obeyed.

Evelyn resumed applying makeup on her friend's face.

One hour later.

Evelyn was smiling happily at her masterpiece. I'm done applying makeup to your face. Look at yourself in the mirror now!" she ordered.

Mende turned around and looked at herself in the mirror in shock. "OMG! What have you done to my face!" she shrieked. "You turned me into a clown!" she screamed in horror.

Evelyn was laughing hard in amusement. "Shh...don't be too loud, Mende! The servants will hear us!"

Mende pouted. "I don't like the makeup! Take it away from my face!" she demanded.

"Alright, don't move! I will remove the makeup on your face! Next time my skill will surely improve! I need more practice. The servants don't like it if I practice on their faces," Evelyn said, laughing hard.

After the makeup was removed from Menedelia's face, the two friends lie on the bed.

"My sister and I found an abandoned manor in the forest. Would you like to go with us to check the manor?" Mende asked her.

"Sure! Where it is located?" Evelyn asked curiously.

"A few miles from here in the heart of the forest," Mende replied.

"Will your sister come with us to explore the manor?" Evelyn asked.

"She's scared going to places like that. She's not adventurous like you and me. She probably won't come with us," replied Mende.

"Next time, bring your sister here. I would like to apply makeup on her face as well," Evelyn said.

Mende rolled her eyes. "Your makeup expertise sucks! My sister won't like it if you turn her into a clown!" she said. "Why don't you practice the makeup on your face?" she suggested.

Evelyn giggled. "That's not fun!" she said and tickled Mende's side.

The girls erupted in waves of laughter and tickled each other.

The door suddenly opened, and Tony entered the room.

Menedelia's journey back to the memory lane was disconnected instantly. She was jolted back to the present, she looked at the lord.

"Girls... it's nice to see you getting ready," Tony commented casually.

Menedelia looked at the lord who comes into the room for an explanation. "I feed the wine and the food to the dogs and monkey, they're fine..." she said and continue. "After this, I will check the foods and the wine in the banquet hall again to make sure that they're not poisoned," she said.

"Good!" Tony nods his head. "The wedding ceremony will officially begin one hour from now," he said. "Get ready by then, girls," he said.

"Yes, we will, father," Nini replied and continue styling Granny's hair.

Tony left the room quietly.
