Chapter 243 - Amazing!

Ah! She remembered something!

Rebecca remembered that during one of their previous conversation in the past, Granny told her once about the 6 big black candles inside the cabinet. They're powerful candles that have different uses. She can use them just in case something bad happens to Granny. She was not interested in hearing about them before, 'coz during that time she was powerful. Besides, no one would harm such a harmless woman as Granny.

In short, she thought that Granny would never encounter any danger in her life. Oh, boy! She was wrong!

Now, things have changed drastically!

Her power was suppressed, and worst, Grandma is missing!

She regretted that she didn't listen attentively to the old woman's instruction during that time. She told her that the six candles are powerful. Once they are lighted and the right spell is chanted correctly the candles can help solve her problem.

And right now, she had already forgotten the uses of those candles because she didn't pay attention to Granny's lecture during that time. She was sure that Granny told her about the importance of those candles!

If the user of the candle doesn't know about the spell, then the candles are useless!

"Hmm, time to bring the candles out!" she said aloud.

She went to the cabinet, opened the door, and right there on the bottom were six big black candles, the size of her arms.

Then her eyes caught the piece of paper and matchstick beside the candle. She picked it up and perused it.

There's a message on the paper that says...

~My dear Rebecca... you are not interested in the candles today. But one day that time will come and danger will befall us. When that time arrives... you can use these candles to help us! Used them accordingly, but you can't use them all at the same time. One candle at a time. I also have written the list of spells for each candle. I put a label on them using threads in a different color so that you can easily identify which candle you should use for a different purpose. So used them properly! And do not lose the paper! You won't be able to activate the power of the candles without their corresponding spell! Important reminders, you can only use one candle per day! Chant the spell with your mind, not with your mouth!~

Rebecca's eyes brightened instantly after reading the detailed message, explaining the candles' different purposes and the spell needed to unlock their magical power. Good thing the spell is short and easy to memorize!

A megawatt smile appeared on her lips after discovering that among the candle, one of them is capable of restoring her suppressed power!

Great!

Then another candle can strengthen the spell array that Granny Menedelia erected around the house and the place.

And there's also a candle that can give Granny added strength and protection if she's accidentally wounded by an enemy, abducted, or got defeated by a powerful entity

Menedelia focuses on the two candles first since she can't use them all.

Her power was suppressed, she wants to use the candle that can help restore her power!

That's what's she's going to do today!

And the next day after tomorrow, she will use the candle that can double the protection of the house to guard it against being invaded by the enemy or intruders.

That barbaric guy who wants to hurt her precious babies inside his tummy was able to enter the house unharmed because she accompanied him, and the spell array acknowledged their entry as safe because of her presence. But if that guy attempted to come here alone, he won't be able to locate this place that was kept hidden from outsiders.

No time to lose!

She will use the candle that can restore her power first!

She needs her power back to protect herself and her precious babies inside her tummy.

She picked up the candle with a label that says, 'Restoring lost, suppressed power or ability."

She put the candle on the table and began memorizing the two-sentence spell for a few minutes. It has to be repeated three times without fail to make it work.

She's done!

Finally, she's ready!

She lighted the black candle with the matchstick and watched the light grows bigger and brighter. She closed her eyes and silently chanted the spell three times in her mind.

Suddenly, the candle produced a thin blue light that traveled towards Rebecca's face and entered her nose and ears.

Then the light disappeared instantly, and the candle died.

Rebecca opened her eyes.

Suddenly she felt a strange kind of dizziness enveloping her whole body. She rushed towards the bed, lay down, and closed her eyes. Her body felt so weak, she felt so tired, all her strength was leaving her body. She likened the feeling of climbing the highest mountain.

The tiredness so severe, she fainted on the bed.

Terros appeared in the living room of Graven's manor, where Laura and her family were staying.

When he landed in the living room, no one was there. He went to the kitchen and asked the servant to inform the lady of the house that he comes for a visit.

The servant went upstairs and knocked on the door of the master's bedroom.

The door opened.

"What is it?" Laura asked.

"My lady... I want to inform you that Grandpa Terros comes for a visit. He's waiting in the living room," the servant said.

"Thank you. I'll come down in a minute," Laura replied.

"Okay." The servant left.

Laura closed the door and went back to the table to finish drinking her milk.

She drinks the milk in one go and left the room, heading to the staircase.

When she landed in the living room, she was greeted by Terros's warm smile. "Grandpa! It's nice to see you again!" she said in a cheerful voice.

"How are you, guys? I just come here for a visit to see if everything is alright here," Terros replied.

"Thanks for your protection, Grandpa. We're doing good and safe here inside the manor," Laura replied. "Just that..."

"What is it?" he asked after he noticed the sadness and worries on her face.

"It's my sister, Sofia! She's still missing until now. Graven failed to find her!" she answered teary-eyed.

Terros released a deep sigh. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Don't worry, after leaving here, I will try to check the neighboring areas. Maybe I can spot Sofia walking or hiding somewhere," he said.

"Thank you so much for your help, Grandpa! I truly appreciated it! I can't leave the manor to help find my sister," she said dejectedly.

"No! It's not safe for you to leave the manor! The vampire couple's minion might find you outside! And the problem only gets worsen if you and Sofia will be gone missing at the same time. Don't worry, I will try to help Graven find your sister around the neighborhood. Maybe she already found a protector somewhere. I'll spend a few hours trying to find Sofia every day until we can locate her location and bring her back here in the manor safe and sound," he said.

"Thank you, Grandpa!" she said, feeling much better after hearing the old man's willingness to help her find her runaway sister.

"Has Graven come here lately?" he asked.

"Yes, he sleeps here last night and left early in the morning. She told me that he needs to take care of some problems arising in the coal mines lately," Laura responded.

"Good to hear that," he said. "How about your food supply every week? Did Graven's men regularly deliver goods here?" he inquired.

"Yes, they come here every week to deliver the food supply," Laura replied.

"Good! Have you notice any disturbance around the minor coming from the outside?" he asked.

Laura shook her head. "Nothing so far," she answered.

"Great! Since everything is okay here, I'll go now and try my best to find Sofia in the neighboring areas," he said and rose to his feet.

"Thank you for your help, Grandpa! I appreciated it very much!" she said.

"Don't mention it! Take care of yourself and the baby. Just give my regards to your parents. I'll have a chat with them when I returned some other day. I'll take my leave now..." he said.

Laura nodded her head and watched him disappeared from her sight.

She released a deep sigh. She and her parents were silently grieving because of Sofia. They're very much worried about her safety now that she's no longer with them.

Wherever her sister's location right now, she wished that she's safe and in good hands protected by a good soul. She hoped that her sister didn't meet bad people along the way. She can only continue to hope and pray.

She took a deep breath, climbed the stairs, and returned to her room to take a bath.

Back in the forest.

When Rebecca opened her eyes, she was already surrounded by darkness. She glanced at the window, oh my, it's already evening!

Holy!

How many hours she had fallen asleep.

Ah!

Her mind recalled that after she chanted the spell, she felt so tired. She lay down on the bed and fainted.

Yes! That's what exactly happened to her!

Surprisingly, she felt better now. Extreme tiredness was gone!

She closed her eyes and initiated the teleportation process in her mind to test if her power was already back.

A few seconds later, she found herself outside the house, a few meters away from the front yard.

"Wow! Amazing!" she gushes. "The candle is truly effective! My power is back now! Thank you so much for your magical candles, Grandma!"

She walked towards the house, entered the door, and lighted the lamp. The light exploded inside the house.

She went to the kitchen to fix herself something to eat.

She made herself a porridge with added vegetables, ginger, and few pieces of dried chicken meat and herbs.

A few minutes later, she was already eating her delicious hot porridge alone at the kitchen table.

After done eating, she washed the dirty dishes and cleaned the kitchen, then retired to Granny's room.

She sat on the chair facing the table, staring at the six candles, planning about her next move.

Since she already had her power back, it's a must that she will do something for Granny. She probably needed the help of the magical candle right now! Sad to say, she can't do it right now.

Tomorrow morning, she will light the other candle to help Granny.

She wanted to take revenge against that bastard guy who suppressed her power and threatened the life of her babies!

Ah, revenge will come later if she found him.

Her top priority right now is to help Granny!
