Chapter 189 - Forget About Them

Rebecca shut her eyes initiating the teleportation process in her mind...but when she opened her eyes...she's still in the same place! She groaned in frustration.

Dammit!

How come her power was suppressed again? She was no longer wearing the golden necklace. She's already out of the mansion! Out of Sylvia's reach!

How come her power didn't work this time!?

She looked at Corbin with confused eyes. "I still can't use my power!" she told him.

Corbin sighed. "Darling...you're still inside my parent's property..." he reminded her.

Rebecca pouted and looked at him teary-eyed. She looked at the wall. "There's no one guarding the wall, I can jump and escape!" she said.

Corbin was shaking his head. "Silly girl... there are guards everywhere. You just don't see them because they're invisible," he stated.

"I don't believe you!" she said. She thinks he was just lying to her because he doesn't want her to leave.

"Watch and see!" Corbin waved his right hand at the wall.

Rebecca's eyes widened in shock. Corbin was telling the truth! Indeed, there are invisible guards positioned above the wall. Damn! If she attempted to escape by foot, she will easily be captured by them. She looked at him teary-eyed.

"See... I didn't lie to you," Corbin said. He went to her side and hugged her tightly, he rubbed her back. "Don't worry, I'll help you to escape after our wedding. Just wait after the wedding is over, that is the best time to escape, okay?"

"Ok," Rebecca answered in a small voice.

"Good girl! Now let's continue horseback riding...or you want to go back to the mansion and stay in the room or the garden? Which is which?" he asked.

Rebecca sighed deeply. "Let's continue horseback riding until late in the afternoon," she replied.

"Okay," Corbin said.

They mounted their horses and continue their horseback riding around the one-hectare land located a hundred meters away from the back of the house.

Hours went by.

The couple finally ditched their horses and retired inside a picnic hut. There are drinks and pastries on the table prepared by the servants.

Rebecca poured refreshing mango juice drinks into the two glasses. She gave one glass to Corbin.

She studied his face while sipping her drink. "Since when did your family start eating and drinking human food?" she asked curiously.

Corbin smiled. "Ever since I'm a little kid. Vampires are fascinated by the ways of humans. We wanted to emulate and live the human way while maintaining our power. We want to enjoy both worlds. I grow up eating human foods because my family raised me that way. Actually, human food is delicious and it would be a waste if vampires won't be able to experience how delicious human foods are. My family can eat anything... meat... veggies, fish and many others..." he explained.

"I see..."

"But there are still few vampire clans out there that stick with human blood, but they're rare to find. Most of the vampires I know and met already adopted the ways of the humans a long time ago," Corbin elaborated further.

"Do you still crave human blood?" she asked.

"Yeah...human blood is the most delicious... it's like an exotic delicacy for the vampires who already adopted the ways of humans. Every time we craved human blood - we can always buy blood from a secret blood store or hunt for humans to drink fresh blood without killing them," Corbin continued.

"Hmm...can you turn someone into a vampire?" she asked curiously.

"Yes...why? Do you want to become a vampire? I can turn you into my kind," he offered enthusiastically.

Rebecca smiled. "No thanks, I'm not interested!" she said.

Corbin smiled. "It would be interesting if we will have a child... a vampire demon child!" he said with a grin.

Rebecca shook her head. "We will never have a child for sure because after the wedding - I'll leave this place and never come back," she said with strong determination flashing in her eyes.

A glimmer of sadness flashed on Corbin's face. "Ah, okay...thanks for reminding me," he said sadly.

She noticed that his face turned sad after she told him that she will leave his side after the wedding. She went to his side and planted a kiss on his lips. "Don't fall in love with me! I won't stay by your side forever. I'm sure that you will find a better match for you. Our relationship will never work due to the circumstances that we're in," she said gently.

Corbin looked at her face for a long time. "I can make it work! We can make it work!" he offered earnestly.

"How?" she asked wanting to know what he's thinking about them.

"After the wedding... we will live in another house. We will raise our own family there. We can live in my mansion where Ebony lives," he offered.

"So...what is your relation with Ebony?" she asked curiously.

Corbin looked at her. "She belongs to the healer tribe in a faraway place. Her tribe was annihilated by their enemies and the surviving women were sold to the slave market. I brought her along with Anastasia and put them in my manor to take care of my property. That's all there is between her and me," Corbin explained.

"I see..." Rebecca said.

"Go ahead, ask me anything you want... after all we're getting married," he said encouraging her to get to know him better.

"What happened to your younger brother? The one that should receive Laura's blood during the Awakening Ceremony?" she asked.

Corbin sighed. "I and my brother were born just two years apart from each other. One day, he died due to a mysterious illness, but his death is not what it seemed. Although he stopped breathing his body still warm and never gets cold. My mother and father were heartbroken and devastated. They tried anything possible to wake him up or resurrect him from death but all their efforts failed. Then one night my mother had a dream, a voice telling her to preserve my brother's body because the legendary vampire King Rhazien, our great grandfather will come back soon and he will use my brother's body as a vessel for his return." He gave her a lengthy explanation.

"Oh... so you believe your mother's vision?" she questioned him.

"Yes...I believe her of course! She's my mother," he replied.

"So, you're still after Laura?" she asked.

"Yes... I want to help my mother materialized her vision," Corbin answered.

Rebecca sighed. "See... that's why we could never be together because you are after my friend!' she pouted up a storm.

Corbin sighed. "Darling... let's just forget about your friend and my family. Let's focus on us! Only the two of us. We can leave them all behind, just stay by my side and raised a family with me," he suggested.

Rebecca was hesitating, not fully convinced with Corbin's offer.

"Darling...listened to me. I'm offering you a home, a family you can call your own," he said.

Rebecca breathed deeply. Though his offer is tempting, she wants to go home and see her friends. Nothing can convince her that staying with Corbin can give her happiness and a sense of belongingness.

Every time she saw Corbin's parents, her blood boils due to anger. She can't accept the painful truth that he is the son of the couple who almost killed her. She like Corbin, unfortunately, their situation is complicated. The only solution they have is to separate from each other and never meet again.

Corbin holds her hands. "Can you give me a chance, darling... please?" he said in a pleading voice.

Rebecca took a deep breath. "I'm sorry...I just can't..." she said.

Corbin hugged her tightly. "Okay, I won't force you...but if one day you will miss me...you feel lonely and you need someone to talk to...you know where to find me. You're always welcome in my manor," he said.

"Thank you for your offer," Rebecca said, tears shimmered in her eyes.

The couple's sweet embrace lasted for a few minutes. They realized one thing... if their bodies touched everything feels good. The wonderful presence of one another filled their hearts with happiness.

It would have been nice if they could be like this every day for the rest of their lives.

Too bad, their love affair is just a temporary remedy to save Rebecca.

After their emotional embraced, they resumed eating their snack and continue horseback riding until darkness blanketed the area.

They finally brought the horses back into the stable and walked towards the mansion, to join the vampire couple for the evening meal.

The dinner with the vampire couple went smoothly along with some occasional discussion about the wedding.

After eating dinner, the couple went back to their room.

Inside Corbin's room.

After taking a short shower, Rebecca joined Corbin in the bed.

They looked at each other's eyes, both eyes alight with mischief.

"Can you guess what I'm thinking right now?" he asked her naughtily.

Rebecca giggled. "Hmm...let me guess...you want to have sex with me?" she said.

Corbin erupted into peals of laughter. "Oh my...you're such a horny woman!" he blurted jokingly.

She pouted. "You mean to say...I didn't guess correctly what's in your mind?" she asked.

"Yeah... but then your guess is the next one in my mind to do right now," he grinned.

Rebecca was about to leave the bed laughing hysterically but Corbin caught her hand before she can leave the bed. "I got you! You're mine!" he said huskily and claimed her mouth for a searing kiss.

The couple engaged in a passionate kiss.

A minute later.

Clothes were flying in the air and landed on the floor... the couple was fully naked.

Corbin stroked and groped Rebecca's erogenous zone arousing feverish lust and passion all over her body.

A few minutes later, Corbin was already thrusting in and out of Rebecca's wet core. They make love all night long until they're tired, fully sated, and went to sleep.
