83 Chapter 81: The Official Return

.....

Ivery sat in her room alone after Luther departed from her a few hours ago. It had only been ten hours since they left Yannel and Danya at Ridgefall and decided to come back home, and Ivery had this unshakable feeling of uneasiness and discontent. Pondering about it more, she finally realized why she was feeling this way...

She missed Luther..

She had gotten so used to seeing him every minute of the day, without him by her side, everything felt cold and almost empty...

She didn't think she'd feel this lost without him, but she wasn't surprised that she felt this way since he was the most important person to her. But it was now apparent to her that she couldn't be completely comfortable anymore if he wasn't with her.

But besides that, tomorrow was the day that Julian planned to announce to the citizens of the country that the denouncing of crown princess Inanna was a planned trick in order to deceive their enemies. He was going to reinstate her to her original status as crown princess Inanna and fiance of crown prince Luther of Fresia.

Ivery closed her eyes and began to meditate, drowning in herself in her thoughts but also keeping in mind to focus on stabilizing her prowess core.

She had also recalled the confrontation with Eos and quickly recapped the battle in her mind. She felt like Eos wasn't as much as a threat to them as she was a few months ago, since they received magic upgrades, they were now able to defend and attack against Eos without it being a one-sided fight.

.....

Ivery also pondered about her new magical energy. She still had to meditate for a few more days and calm her magical energy that was still slightly unstable in her prowess core.

Ivery's hands glowed with a golden glow and she moved her hands in graceful motion's, slowly becoming one with her prowess core, and quickly connecting with her magical energy. Her prowess core glowed in her chest again and shone with a brilliant light.

She took a deep breath and exhaled, just as she did, the light in her chest gradually died down. Her hair gently flowed back, reacting from her powerful magic energy being released.

"Are you almost done?" A voice said behind her

Ivery slightly jumped and opened her eyes as she turned her head to look at who was behind her.

"Don't sneak up on me like that..." Ivery sighed, she quickly calmed herself down after being startled

"Sorry." Luther kissed the back of her neck

"I lose all of my awareness when meditating, it's a helpful process in stabilizing my prowess core energy, but it's dangerous to do when alone or outside." Ivery said to him

"I know how meditation works, I've done it myself." Luther smiled coyly

"Why..are you here?" Ivery asked with a blush in her cheeks

"I missed you." Luther bluntly said

"Oh.." Ivery widely smiled

"Are you looking forward to getting your official status back?" Luther asked her with a raised eyebrow and slight grin

"Of course, now I can be publically engaged to you again.." Ivery grabbed his hands and held them in hers

"That's why you're looking forward to it?" Luther asked with a slight tint of redness in his cheeks

"What's an empress without her emperor?" Ivery smiled

"I see..." Luther smiled wider, hearing her words made his heart feel as if it were going to burst from overloading

"I feel the same way, what's an emperor without his empress?" Luther hugged Ivery tighter

Ivery rested her head on his chest and closed her eyes. The uneasiness and the discontentedness that she felt completely subsided and was replaced with a sense of utter relaxation and contentedness. In his arms was the best place for her. Right by his side was where she wanted to be forever.

Luther's heart and mind that felt empty and cold when he sat in his room alone were filled to the brim once he saw Ivery and sat within her warm and beautiful presence. There was nothing better than being with the person you were in love with. He indulged in what he recognized as her wonderful scent and melted as he embraced her.

"Are you tired?" Luther asked her

"...."

Luther was confused when she didn't respond. He looked down and smiled when he noticed that she was fast asleep.

He gently laid her down on the bed and rested her head softly on the pillows. He laid down right beside her, not intending on leaving her for a second. He didn't fully realize it until he spent several hours without her with him, but he was hopelessly empty without her. He felt like he had become a void and felt cold in his giant room.

Ivery had become his light, his warmth, his shelter, his lover...

She changed him before he even realized it himself.

"I love you so much..." Luther touched Ivery's soft cheek and smiled with overflooding warmth in his heart

"I...love...you.." Ivery mumbled in her sleep

Luther was slightly taken by surprise and gently smiled at her unconscious response.

...

When Ivery woke up she was shocked to see that she had woken up with Luther in bed right next to her. She didn't think he would stay with her overnight, not that she was going to complain about it.

A few hours after Ivery woke up she found out from two maids that Julian had already announced at a royal and noble gathering event that she was once again crown princess Inanna, and revealed that her status demotion was a ploy in order to trick their enemies into thinking that their countries strongest royal and the second infinite attribute holder was now powerless.

Everyone had taken the news in well and they all praised Julian for his smart ways of thinking.

The announcement quickly spread to other countries and they thought it all made sense. There was no way a person favored by a god would suddenly lose their magic under that god's watch. Then several people reported to have seen princess Inanna and prince Luther together during her faked banishment, everyone concluded that everything had been faked after all.

Ivery didn't think that she would've overslept, the maids would normally wake her up and have her outfit fully prepared in the morning, but it was already noon and no one had come inside the room.

But now that she thought about it, the maids probably didn't even bother since her status wasn't reinstated at the time and they thought it wouldn't be necessary to wake up a useless princess.

She glared at the two maids she was speaking to.

"Who is normally in charge of waking me up?" Ivery asked

"The..head maid." One of the maids responded

"Take me to her." Ivery said

"Yes, your highness." The maids slightly bowed and proceeded to lead the way to the head maid

Ivery followed behind them.

...

They opened the doors to the maids quarters and all of the maids gasped and bowed to Ivery once they saw her.

"Where is your head maid?" Ivery asked them

They all looked at a middle-aged woman who had her jet blue hair in a bun and her orange-colored eyes looked at Ivery.

"I am the head maid." She kept herself bowed in front of Ivery

"Why wasn't I woken up for the event my father held?" Ivery crossed her arms and the aura she gave off was suppressing

"We...had assumed that the emperor wouldn't have wanted you there..." The head maid said as her heart raced, feeling anxious within Ivery's presence

"You assumed? Who gave you the right to make your own decisions?" Ivery stepped closer to the head maid

"Forgive me! I have wronged you!" The head maid quickly got down on her knees and kneeled down at Ivery's feet

Ivery looked down at the head maid with a scoff.

"Stand up." Ivery ordered

The head maid sweated and shakily stood up.

Just as the head maid stood up, she was instantly slapped.

"That's a warning, don't let it happen again." Ivery narrowed her eyes at the head maid who held her red cheek

Ivery knew this maid was cursing at her in her head. The one thing maids hate most is royalty. Ivery decided that she needed to assert her dominance over them, or they'll think that they could get away with anything they wanted to because she was too affable.

Ivery walked out of the maids quarters and as soon as the doors closed all of the maids sighed with relief and chattered about what had just happened.
