24 The Lost Warmth

She ran, and ran, and ran while the Cypus roared and followed her until it came to the deeper end of the forest. The angry Cypus's roar alerted all the nearby Cypuses and they came in all direction. I was really wishing for some kind of miracle to happen that can save my life. And incredulously that's when it happened. I saw her... I saw my Electra along with some other Cypuses at the end. For a second I thought she wouldn't remember me but I was wrong... Before the other Cypuses neared me, she flew at an instant and then took me to a safe place far away. Then I realised it was actually so near to the army border. I knew she couldn't enter the border area, she was bounded by the forest of the Origins. So I asked her to drop me off somewhere where I can spend the night. You might be thinking now that I'm a crazy being who speaks to a Cypus. Right? But see animals do understand what we say to them and once they are bonded, the connection gets stronger. She took me to her cave which was only a few kilometres away from the border.

That's when I realized that I lost my luggage on the run. Now all that was left with me was my cellphone which didn't have a network and a small backpack that had a water bottle, a few snacks that can last up to 3 days, a warm blanket and a first aid kit. She was grateful that at least she had these to make it to the city. The night grew colder and I was not getting sleep. That little blanket was used as my sheet and I had nothing to cover me from the cold that's when Electra spread her huge furred wings to my side to keep me warm. The familiar warmth made me sink into a deep slumber. I found the lost warmth that I once had.....
