Isabella had caught Sean glancing at Kim occasionally so she was sure he had feelings for Kim. Her two friends may end up together sooner or later, will she then be the third wheel? Realising this, her mind drifted to Carl, maybe they could go on a double date. She squealed in delight.

"What are you thinking about?" Questioned Kim. Isabella was acting quite suspicious.

"Nothing, I'm just glad we could do this." Isabella replied. Her mind wandering off again. She did not want to be the one to tell either of her friends about their feelings but she wanted to give them both a chance. So she began devising means to avoid being the light bulb without making it obvious.

As her mind wandered, Sean returned with two trays carrying coffee and cakes for the three of them. "I didn't know what you liked so I picked one of everything." He said to both of them but his eyes were focused on Kim.

"Thanks." They said in union.

Kim as usual failed to take notice of his eyes that were trained on her, her mind was directly on the cake, she did not know what to choose.

Taking a plate and a spoon, she cut one-third of every kind. Then she gave a satisfactory smile as she tasted the strawberry cake.

Sean watched her every action, he couldn't help but smile whereas Isabella felt giddy but left out.

"So where should be go?" Isabella's voice broke Sean out of his trance.

Taking a sip of his coffee, he replied, "It's for Kim to decide."

Kim was too busy stuffing herself with snacks to pay attention to their conversation, Sean found it hilarious so he continued observing her. Her carefree attitude was infectious and the way she ate was like it was the most delicious thing in the world, made him want to taste the cake too. Not paying attention, he picked the chocolate cake and placed it in his mouth. His face immediately darkened like the color of the cake. He was not fond of chocolate, he almost spat out, but seeing Kim swallow hers, he gulped, swallowing the cake. It left a bitter taste in his mouth, he quickly chugged down a cup of coffee.

Isabella of course knew about his hate for chocolate, she was surprised to see him swallow. Nevertheless, she smiled not pointing it out.

"I just found out there'll be a color run, what do you think?" Isabella asked.

"Where?" Questioned Sean.

"Not too far from the red district, should we go?"

"Kim, we're also here, you know? Said Isabella, face palming. Kim was so focused on the number of cakes she could eat that she forgot her period would be starting soon.

"Whatever you want," Kim said almost breathless from stuffing her mouth.

Picking up a napkin, Sean wiped her mouth, "Slow down, will you?"

Again, she failed to notice the gentleness in his eyes. Isabella only rolled her eyes at the two people sitting with her.

"If you have no qualms about it, we should definitely go, I heard it's fun, I haven't experienced that before." Isabella remarked.

"Oh.. a new experience, we should go." Mumbled Kim.

Picking up her shoulder bag, Isabella was about getting up before Kim interrupted her, "Not until I finish this."

Isabella's mouth opened, then closed, what should she say? "If you stuff yourself, how will you run?"

Kim gave her the "isn't it obvious eye". "What if I only want to watch and not participate besides, how can we waste this much cake?"

Isabella shook her head, "How can you only watch and not participate?"

"If it's the cake, I'll eat too." She spoke before gesturing to Sean to also eat the cake.

Though she was in a hurry, Isabella did not forget her manners, that could not be said for Kim who had cake crumbs on her cheek. Sean picked up a spoon and began eating as graceful as he could while glancing at Kim from time to time.

"Sean have you ever experienced a color run?" Isabella inquired.

Sean simply shook his head.

"Then it will be a first for all of us." Added Isabella.

"It will be a good bonding experience, don't you think so Kim?" Sean who wanted to talk to Kim as much as he could, saw it as a chance to get her attention.

Too bad Kim did not look up but instead sipped her coffee before rubbing her stomach. "I guess."

Her short and vague answer left Sean a little disappointed. However, he cheered up remembering they had a long way to go. They would be spending the day together. In addition, they were classmates so they would be spending the next five years together. Enough time to her close to her, he thought.

If only he knew he could never climb the high walls she built, perhaps he would have stopped his feelings now.

Or maybe he would continue nonetheless. How many times do people actually fall in love? It's best to hold on while you can.

After finishing the cake, they walked out of the cafe together. Isabella holding Kim by her arm while Sean trailed behind them, appreciating the view from behind.
