23 How Hard Could It Be?

A few days later, Kim received an email of her admission into the prestigious Law Faculty of State A University. Due to her outstanding result, she was awarded a full scholarship, however, to keep the scholarship, she would have to maintain a CGPA of 3.5. She was busy with registration and other necessities.

She would have to be done with registrationbefore resumption which was set for September. She still hadn't decided if she would stay at home or the dormitories. She wanted to be with Carl, she also wanted to give him space so she was caught in a dilemma.

Being away from him would only create distance, she didn't want that distance now, until she was completely in his heart. She had to cement her place in his life before anything else. But may be space was what they needed. She also wanted to experience life in the campus, surrounded by friends and classmates.

May be she really needed the distraction. May be she was just crushing on him. May be she should try to let go. May be she should completely erase him from her heart. There were so much questions, so much uncertainties, but there was still a month's time until resumption.

Although she was happy she succeeded, there was still this fear.. fear of the unknown. Are there people as vicious as those she had seen in her dramas? Would they be at school? Would they target her? Well, who is to say she's the protagonist of her story? She might alsobe insignificant. Would she discover something new? There was too many questions with little or no answers.

She was anxious, she was nervous, she was a wreck of emotions, a lot of words could describe her feelings. Nonetheless, she was excited at the new possibilities. She couldn't help but think how much change the university would bring to her life. Still, there's was a little part of her that wanted Carl.. she wanted her home to remain the same.

With the help of Allan and Allen, Glass was becoming stable. Preparations was almost complete for Glass Security to make it's debut. Carl wasn't too busy with Glass as he only needed to assign duties and come up with plans. The execution was left with the brothers. He focused mainly on his job as a manager in Stan group. He was still trying to figure out their purpose.

He came up with a simple explanation earlier but thinking back, that couldn't be all, right? They must have a bigger purpose. He just wasn't sure yet but if he uncovered their purpose, he could probably make a lot of money since Charles Stan, Chamberlain's father was running for office next year. Though, he wasn't sure what office he would go for. But it was definitely a good opportunity. If he could succeed, it would be his foundation for selling information in the black market. At least, he still had time, to slowly unravel the Stan group.

It was just 4pm when he finished his work, a little earlier compared to other days. He decided to surprise Kim by cooking for her. He didn't know a thing about cooking but she has been in charge of cooking since he moved in. He would get instructions from YouTube and try to make something simple. How hard could it be?

He hurriedly went to the mall, he got a few necessities, fruits and ingredients for the dinner he wanted to make. Nothing serious, "just chicken pasta." After which he headed home, thankfully, she wasn't home yet. He set aside everything he got then he cleaned up the house as he hadn't done it the previous day. Soon, he took out his phone to look at videos on how to prepare chicken pasta on YouTube. He watched a few videos repeatedly and it was already past 5, and Kim would be home by 6pm.

It took just thirty minutes to prepare chicken pasta and needed it ready when she opens thedoor. So he decided to take a quick shower. After that he took out the needed utensils, a large pot, tongs and a colander. He began by heating 10 cups of water, he added salt, a teaspoon of olive oil and the whole spaghetti, to be cooked "al dente", as the video instructed. After which he washed and shredded the chicken, he also chopped the garlics and onions into tiny cubes.

Things were going pretty good until the "al dente" part. He wasn't sure how to know it was cooked al dente...
