Chapter 128: Easy Kill

Aria was hesitant, but she couldn't help but admit that Alena's words were correct. If the child was able to stand by herself, then this trouble would be solved. However, she was still not entirely on board with the decision of leaving the child for such a long time.

Aria debated with herself for a long time, but combined with Alena's constant assurance, she ended up taking the harsh decision to jump into the water without the child. Aria nodded towards the child, signifying that she was going to jump off.

Alena made her own preparations to survive the turbulence that was happening inside the dungeon. She cooperated with her icy spirit to form a plan that would keep her away from the raging waters' attacks. Ilyin was aware of the dangers and channeled up her own power to create a temporary ice shield for the child. Although it wouldn't resist all the impact, because Ilyin made the shield to be extremely cold, the immediate impact of water would be turned into more ice when they came in contact with the shield.

Alena cheered for her big sister as Aria dove straight into the body of water, which had whirlpools and tornadoes whipping up everywhere. She slipped through the calmer water sections and reached the depth where the disasters were not as prominent.

But there was something that was extremely clear, and that was the machine's linkage with the disasters. She wasn't able to hear the sound clearly above water because the surroundings were extremely loud, and the machine was deep inside the water, but she heard rings of drumming sounds upon nearing the machine's depth.

She was also able to locate the dormant monster because of how big it was. She did not have much time. Although she was strong, she was still a human and had to breathe in order to survive. In a place like this, where she had to fight under water, she couldn't last forever. Dianthe helped her by supplying a water barrier that would at least help isolate her from immediate contact with the water so that she wouldn't be disturbed, but this sentiment wouldn't last forever. Dianthe was unable to channel oxygen towards her master's lungs, so Aria had to resurface, or else she would be doomed under water.

Her mana instantly worked to channel mana for Igna to consume and summon the fires for her.

There was a specific spot that Rock Whales were the most vulnerable to. It was at the front of its head. If that part was set on fire, then the monster would feel an extremely agonizing feeling of being charred all over, even though in truth, only its head was on fire. It did not have eyesight, and its senses were low, so the giant monster would panic and scram out of fear. Its best ability was to stay silent and float around the water, so it definitely couldn't resist when Aria set the thing on fire.

However, the problem was that the head was quite small, and the whale's body was practically like a perfect ellipse. It was an insult to real whales for this monster to be called a whale in the first place. It was basically just a floating rock that somehow obtained sentience, which was why it was classified into a being a monster.

Aria swam around the whale in order to locate the head. Although her vision was somewhat blurred because of the water, and she had to get close to the actual place in order to confirm her target, she ended up marking down the location up.

'There it is. I just need to use Igna to form the flames in front of it and set it on fire...'

Igna's flames were particularly hard to handle. It was easy for it to get out of control, and the flame could not be put out by water, which was supposed to be the element's natural nemesis. Instead, Igna's fire would continue burning and could even eat the water that it was exposed to. It was poisonous to fight.

Thus, in this scenario where she had to incite the monster with the fire element inside a water environment, Igna's help was the perfect solution to the fight. Aria was still enclosed in Dianthe's barrier as she descended down to the whale's weak spot.

Aria raised her right hand, and Igna's power flowed through her. The spirit was a wholehearted summon, and he did not utter any words that conveyed his emotions. The spirit was inside her Summoning space, but it was as if he was nothing but a doll- a present given to her by the System. He did not react to Aria in any other form other than obeying her orders.

It made her feel a bit unsettled because the spirit once used to be part of her entourage, and he had quite the extroverted and bubbly personality. Even so, she did not have time to be babbling about that right now. She was worried, but the spirit will stay with her, so she could bother about that next time.

As her right hand summoned up a strong fireball that kept getting bigger and bigger with each passing second, Aria soon arrived right in front of the head and jammed her fist, full of the fireball to attack the whale. Her fist was imbued with strength enhancements. The whale's rocky cover was strong, but Aria managed to get the flame fester on the surface as it began livening up in no time.

The Rock Whale was burned, and its flammable cover burst up into larger flames. Aria drew back, not wanting herself to be caught in the fire. The whale's suffering was clear as it began to have erratic movements and became angered.

'Burn to hell, big guy.' Aria sneered as she watched the monster slowly start to move and heighten up its pace from its originally still state.

However, as the Rock Whale moved to suppress the pain it was feeling, it touched the machine that she was supposed to destroy after distracting the monster and moving it away. The whale ended up floating upwards and moving about in desperation, but there was already a small wisp of flame that inflicted the machine, and this flame soon grew bigger and bigger as part of Igna's flame's characteristics.

'Damn!' Aria knew that the machine's aftermath would be bad news. It emitted a loud blaring sound that could even be heard by Alena, who was above the water level. The sound got louder and louder as the fire increased.

For this type of machine, which has a high power flow to be set on fire, it would definitely be of high risk of being combusted or exploded. She swam upwards, being assisted by enchantments as she ran for her life.

She got out of the water, and was instantly reminded of Alena. Communicating with Rallaka to form platforms to reach the girl, who was above her, she knew that there was little time left to take action.

"Alena! Take my hand, the machine is going to explode real hard!" Aria jumped out of the water and extended her hand to Alena. There was no time to explain, and everything had to unfold within a short time frame if it wanted to succeed.

The child reacted fast, and her hand instantly caught on to Aria's. She was tugged into Aria's hug. There were no platform that supported them left, so their falls wouldn't be cushioned by anything.

They were falling back down towards the water, where the machine was supposedly going to explode. Noticing this, Alena became extremely confused as to why the woman was doing this. Wasn't it going to kill them if they got even closer? Alena already had a bad feeling about the upcoming disaster, and knew that she had to get away as far as possible, but Aria was actually going near it.

Could it be that there was a special mechanism that Aria discovered, that could protect them from the impact? One that needed them to draw closer?

Whatever it was, Alena closed her eyes shut in order to swallow the fear she had inside her heart, leaving everything to Aria. She chose to hold a firm belief in the older woman's decisions.

Not long after, the long awaited explosion triggered.

BOOM!

A deafening sound.

The machine's destruction occurred, blowing its surroundings into smithereens. Not even the water was able to dampen its impact, and Aria and Alena's state were left unknown. The impact was so large that the entire dungeon that was used to keep the machine was destroyed, and the water the flowed out of the walls began to surge nonstop and entered the room in one large wave.

As for the humans that were caught in the explosion, what would be their fates? Would they be consumed by the explosion, never to see another day, or would they come out safe and finish the dungeon up?
