Chapter 39 - Stern Father

Anita’s father finally stopped looking so serious. Instead, he acted like a father who was about to marry his daughter off. He picked up his wine glass and said to Jacob, “Anita has been pampered by us since she was

young. If she is lacking in any aspect in the future, I hope you guys will be tolerant.”

Mr. Jacob also laughed. “Don’t say that. Anita is a good child. We all like her very much. You can entrust her to Owen.”

After Anita’s father heard what Owen’s father said, and adding on the fact that they had just dealt with the matter properly, he knew that their family really liked Anita, and his worry finally began to ease.

The two fathers, who had finally stopped worrying, started to chat and drink.

Seeing that the atmosphere was slowly improving, Sylvia quickly sat down beside Anita’s mother and said, “You look so similar to Anita. You look like sisters.”

Anita’s mother touched her cheek when she heard Sylvia’s words and looked at Owen’s mother. She had asked Anita before coming and knew that Owen’s mother was a few years older than her.

However, she clearly looked much younger than she did. Her every move was graceful and elegant. It was obvious that her life was smooth-sailing and she was carefree.

Actually, Anita’s mother had been a beauty when she was young, but after decades of a hard life, she now had sagging dull skin.

Anita’s mother was sensitive enough to realize the difference between her and them, and that was also the difference between Anita and Owen. She suddenly understood Anita’s father’s attitude, which she had never

quite agreed with.

‘Even though everything seemed okay now, would this hidden problem really not affect their lives in the future?’ Anita’s mom thought.

Both parents greeted each other and talked about the wedding day. They had almost finished their meal, so Owen arranged for the hotel’s butler to take them back to the villa to rest.

After sending them away, Anita and Owen sat in the hotel’s little tour bus and went back to the villa they lived in.

The tour bus slowly drove on the path outside the beach. The sea breeze blew over the beach. Anita’s head started to spin. Anita hadn’t remembered what Zoey had just said, but the way Owen and his family had

handled it left a deep impression on her.

Owen was so angry, as if she was really someone important to him. As she thought about it, she stole a glance at Owen, who was beside her, and he found out immediately.

“What is it?” Owen asked while glancing at Anita.

Anita quickly shook her head. “Nothing. It’s okay.”

Owen was wearing a white silk shirt and light gray pants today. His hair was now flapping in the sea breeze, and from time to time, it revealed his smooth forehead and beautiful eyes.

He looked like a heartthrob from a movie. Anita couldn’t help but be mesmerized.

Owen was a little tired today, and he had drunk wine at dinner. Coupled with the fact that he had just dealt with Zoey, he was too distracted to notice that Anita had been watching him.

He touched his forehead and said softly, “I feel a little dizzy.”

Anita didn’t say anything and just quietly moved her shoulder closer to Owen.

Unfortunately, the dizzy Owen didn’t notice at all. When he realized it, he was already at the villa entrance. After getting out of the car, he was upset that he hadn’t realized it earlier.

Both of them were a little tired today. After they got off the tour bus, Anita prepared to go back to her room to rest.

“Anita, don’t mind what Zoey said today. You know, our whole family likes you.” Owen hesitated about whether to say it the whole way, but finally decided he had to tell Anita.

“Yes, I know. Go back and rest,” Anita said with a smile.

Seeing Anita smiling as she replied, Owen felt relieved, so he waved his hand and the two of them went to their rooms to rest.

Their parents had met and talked, and the wedding progressed quickly. Anita and Owen got up early on the day of the wedding.

Because the venue was outdoor, they mainly wore white.

It was only when the two of them were done and walked out of the dressing room that they saw each other. This was the first time Owen and Anita had seen each other appear in formal attire, and they were both

stunned by each other.

Today, Owen was wearing a white, tailored suit. He didn’t wear a tie and only had a collar flower. He looked so elegant and handsome that it was difficult to look away from him. Anita couldn’t help but lower her head

after just two glances.

This was the first time Owen had seen Anita in a wedding dress. He couldn’t help but be glad that he was the first person to see Anita in a wedding dress.

Because Anita was simply too beautiful in a wedding dress. She was like a princess. The fitted fishtail dress outlined Anita’s beautiful figure..
