In the blink of an eye, it was time to meet Owen. Anita ended the laboratory experiment early and hurried over. When she arrived, she found that Owen was already there.

“Sorry, I’m late,” Anita said apologetically.

“It’s okay. I was the one who got here early,” Owen said with a smile.

“Didn’t Bruce come today?” Anita asked dubiously while looking around, but saw no signs of Owen’s secretary.

“He has something on today,” Owen said a little nervously. He hadn’t expected Anita to suddenly ask about Bruce and he panicked.

The truth was, Bruce wasn’t here today because of Owen. He hadn’t seen Anita alone in a long time and he kind of missed the way they used to spend time together. That’s why he hadn’t asked Bruce to come today.

“Okay,” Anita replied simply and did not know what to say. In the past, with Bruce around, he could still ease the awkwardness, but now, the two of them looked at each other and felt a little awkward, even though they were already going to get married.

Owen spoke first. “I ordered you a cappuccino. Try it.”

“Thank you,” Anita said while picking up the cup in front of her and taking a sip.

“Oh, right. I wanted to tell you today that our wedding date is set.” Owen glanced at Anita when he finished, but she didn’t respond.

So Owen continued, “It’s on the 12th of next month. Is the time okay?”

“It’s fine. I don’t have to worry about anything anyway,” Anita said with a smile.

“Well, it’s decided then,” Owen said to the smiling Anita.

It seemed that since the matter of the contractual marriage was proposed, their relationship had begun to slowly change. Owen didn’t know what had changed, but he did feel something different in his heart.

“Have you confirmed the number of people attending?” Owen thought for a moment and asked.

“Yes, it’s confirmed. There’s my parents, as well as my mentor and a few friends. There’s no one else,” Anita replied after a moment of thought.

“There’s so few people?” Owen asked subconsciously.

“Well, there wasn’t really anyone in our family to begin with,” Anita said.

Actually, Owen couldn’t believe the number of people when he heard Anita announce it. How could there be so few people? Or did she not want anyone to know that they were getting married?

He couldn’t help but wonder. He wanted to ask Anita about it, but he didn’t seem to be in any position to do so. After all, the two of them were engaged in a contractual marriage, and it seemed the less people who knew about it the better. When the two of them divorced a few years later, it wouldn’t hurt

each other that much.

Owen thought about it for a moment and finally said, “Our wedding venue is overseas. When the time comes, the plane tickets will be sent to you in advance.”

“It’s overseas?” Anita didn’t expect the location to be overseas and was shocked.

“Yes, overseas. It’s a country that my parents have always liked. You don’t have to worry about the venue. It’s already been decided. We just have to go there a week in advance.” Owen was afraid that Anita would be angry, so he quickly explained.

“Sure, I have no objections. I just didn’t expect to be overseas,” Anita said.

Most of what happened next was explained by Owen. As Anita listened, she felt like an emotionless robot. She just had to listen to the arrangements.

‘The two of them discussed their marriage like this. In the end, there was really nothing else to say. Anita did not want to stay and suggested that she leave first.

It was too late. When Owen saw Anita stand up, he instinctively stopped her. “It’s getting late and you can’t get a taxi anymore. Let me send you back.”

This time, Anita did not refuse. After all, the two of them were about to get married. In the future, such pickups would happen frequently. She had to learn to slowly adapt.

“Well, thank you,” Anita said politely.

Owen saw that Anita seemed a little distant, but he said nothing more. He picked up his clothes from the chair and went out the door.

‘As they sat in Owen’s car, the atmosphere between the two of them was still somewhat awkward. They had said most of the things they needed to say, and there was nothing more to say.

Actually, Owen wanted to say something to Anita. He wanted to ask how she was lately. Did she have any ideas about their marriage?

But looking at Anita, who was sitting beside him, Owen suddenly lost the desire to ask. If Anita did say something, could he satisfy her?

Anita lived quite close to the school. They would be there in about ten minutes.

“This is my stop. Be safe on the road,” Anita said after she pushed open the car door.

“Yeah, see you,” Owen replied politely. The two of them waved at each other and left.

It would be time for Anita and Owen to get married soon. The two of them would fly there a week early..
