So she said, “Have you guys discussed your marriage?”

“Don’t worry, Mom. Owen will handle all of this. We don’t have to worry about anything,” Anita said.

“Oh, really? But we can’t just do nothing,” Anita’s mom said hesitantly.

“It’s okay, Mom. Just tell me the size of your and Dad’s clothes. Owen will get the attire ready for you guys too.” Anita knew that they were relieved, so she quickly changed the subject.

Her father, who had been listening without a word, finally said, “Anita, tell me the truth. You didn’t get married because of money and it was really because you liked each other?”

Anita started to panic. She had never told a lie in front of her parents before, and for a moment, Anita didn’t know how to answer.

“What are you doing? Anita already told us that they like each other. Why are you always pressuring her?” Anita’s mom helped Anita out.

“Don’t worry, Daddy. I really like Owen. And Owen’s parents like me,” Anita said quickly.

“You’ve grown up. It’s good that you can handle your own affairs,” he said at last.

“Yes, I know,” Anita replied firmly.

“Mom, I won’t talk to you guys anymore. There’s still an experiment later. I’ll tell you guys when the wedding time is confirmed.” She was afraid that she would expose herself if she continued, so Anita quickly prepared to hang up.

“Okay, Anita, go do your thing. If there’s anything for—” Before Anita’s mom could finish, she heard the beep. Anita had hastily hung up.

Anita couldn’t calm down even after hanging up the phone. She started thinking about her father’s question again.

Then she thought about her contract with Owen. She had to bear the consequences of her decision, but it was no big deal. After all, it didn’t affect her future life and she could still protect her parents’ house.

‘Their marriage had been put on the agenda, but Anita didn’t have to worry about anything else.

She only informed her mentor, seniors, friends, and parents.

Anita was still debating whether to tell Ethan or not. How should she tell him? After all, Ethan was her best friend.

If she told him that her marriage to Owen was a contractual relationship, she was afraid he would reveal it in a moment of agitation, or tell her parents. Then things would get out of hand.

While Anita was hesitating, Ethan had already found out about this from their mutual friends.

He hadn’t expected Anita to get married so suddenly. It hit him like a thunderbolt. Ethan couldn’t care less that he was at work. He changed his clothes and hurried to school to find Anita.

On the way to the car, he called Anita a few times, but she didn’t pick up. Ethan felt even more panicked. Why? Why didn’t she even pick up the phone?

‘The car finally arrived at Anita’s school. As soon as Ethan got out of the car, he bumped into Anita’s classmates. He hurriedly asked them where Anita had gone. After asking, he found out that Anita had gone to the laboratory.

So Ethan hurried to the lab to find Anita.

Anita happened to be doing an experiment today. Her phone was turned on silent, so she didn’t know that Ethan had called several times.

It was only when she took out her phone from the cabinet after the experiment did she see that there were a few missed calls. They were all from Ethan, so she quickly prepared to call Ethan back.

Anita thought about the fact that she would have to tell Ethan about her marriage. After all, Ethan had been her best friend for so many years.

Just as Anita was about to dial, she heard someone call her name. “Anita, Anita.”

It was Ethan. Anita hurried out with her phone.

“Ethan, why are you here?” Anita asked Ethan, who was standing in front of her with disheveled clothes and a nervous expression.

Ethan just looked at Anita without responding.

“Ethan, what’s wrong with you? Aren’t you a clean freak since you’re a Virgo?” Seeing that Ethan was staring at her, Anita wanted to ease the atmosphere, so she teased him.

“Anita, tell me if it’s true.” Ethan suddenly asked.

“What?” Upon hearing Ethan’s question, Anita was stunned.

“You’re getting married, aren’t you?” Ethan asked while panting.

“Huh, you know? I was going to call you today to tell you.” So Ethan already knew.

Anita felt really guilty about it now. Ethan was her best friend, but he’d gotten the news that she was getting married from someone else..
