Anita hurried back to school after handling her family’s business. Her original schedule wasn’t this rushed.

Last night, her mentor called her to ask about Cole. “Anita, I just found out about Cole today.”

This shocked Anita. She hadn’t told her mentor because she was worried about his health. “Mentor, you… you know everything?”

“Yes,” replied her mentor.

“Mentor, you…” Anita thought that her mentor knew what had happened that night and was wondering how to tell him what had happened that night.

“I just found out that Cole is the scum of the academic community. He’s really a disgrace. If it weren’t for Peter, we would have been kept in the dark.” Her mentor said angrily.

“What? Peter? What does this have to do with Team Leader Peter?” Anita asked dubiously. She didn’t know why this matter suddenly involved Team Leader Peter of the academic discussion group.

“You don’t know yet, but after you went home, Peter exposed all of Cole’s evil deeds and sent a letter to the college where Cole is working. How gratifying.” Her mentor couldn’t help but say excitedly.

“Really? Team Leader Peter did such a thing?” Anita didn’t believe it and said dubiously.

“Yes, I’m really impressed with Peter this time. What he did was really admirable.” Her mentor praised sincerely.

“Alright, Anita, come back quickly. I’m waiting for you to come back and help,” her mentor said with a smile.

“Yes, I will return as soon as possible,” Anita said.

After her mentor hung up, Anita began to wonder if Owen had done this. After all, Owen knew about what happened that day the best. Why would Team Leader Peter investigate Cole for no reason?

But why would Owen do that?

Furthermore, this academic conference had suffered huge reputational damage because of this matter. This was not in the interests of Owen’s company.

Could it be that Owen was doing this for her? At the thought of this, Anita immediately shook her head and cursed herself for being too ahead of herself. How was that possible?

But Anita thought she should thank Owen properly anyway. After all, no one knew what would have happened that day without him.

Even now, Annie felt a little afraid when she thought about what happened that night.

Over the years, Anita had never expected that there would be such a scum in the academic community. Furthermore, she had encountered that scum. This made her feel stressed out.

Anita had always thought that the teachers in the academic community were as kind as her professors, but she didn’t expect the reality to be so cruel.

Had she always been too idealistic? Anita suddenly remembered what her ex-boyfriend Eric always said about her. “You’re just too idealistic. What can academics bring you?”

Anita was a little lost. She laid on her bed and thought about it for the night but couldn’t come up with a solution.

The next morning, Anita packed up her things and left with the specialties her parents had prepared beforehand.

After returning to school, Anita went to see her mentor first.

She had wanted to contact Owen directly and thank him before returning the jacket to him. But she had missed a lot of tasks in the past few days, and coupled with the fact that she really didn’t know how to face Owen, she had delayed it for days.

When Anita felt that it wouldn’t be appropriate to delay any longer, she sent Owen a message to ask him to meet her at a cafe this Saturday.

Anita, thinking that since Owen was so busy, he probably wouldn’t have time to see her, didn’t expect him to agree.

Unexpectedly, just as the message was sent, Owen replied, “No problem. I’ll see you at the cafe on Saturday. I have something to tell you too.”

Anita started to get nervous when she read the message. ‘What is Owen going to tell me?’

What was it? He wanted her to pay him back?

Then, she thought to herself, could it be… could it be that he was attracted to her?

Thinking of this, Anita felt a little embarrassed.

Then, she patted her head and forced herself to wake up. “Anita, can you not be so full of yourself?”

Time passed quickly and it was Saturday in the blink of an eye.

Anita had been feeling uneasy for days, but this day had finally come.

This morning, after Anita woke up, she rummaged through her wardrobe a few times and finally found an outfit that she thought was especially suitable for the occasion. It was a light-colored dress that looked cute on her.

Then, Anita put on some makeup and dressed up. Before she left, she even looked at herself in the mirror. “Yes, the girl in the mirror is so beautiful..”
