Chapter 9.6

Sunghee screamed,

“You lied about everything! Everything! You and Min Seungju obviously planned everything to toy with me! Why? Why did you do it? Why did you choose me? Did you have fun? Why did you do this to me? I’m nobody! So why?”

Sunghee sobbed. She couldn’t stand this. The fact that he was talking to her right now was hard to endure. She had never felt this miserable in her life. She had never been fooled this badly either. Sejin didn’t say anything. Instead, he grabbed onto her arm and stared.

Sunghee continued to yell,

“Do you have any idea how embarrassed I feel right now? I was surrounded by all those strangers as I learned what kind of human being you really are! Do you get it? I was nothing to you, was I? Just like those people in there… I never meant anything to you…”

Sejin didn’t care about her. He only saw her as his plaything. Maybe just a coworker that was easy to fool. Now, she needed to go back to her world. She was going to be nothing more than one of many employees to him now. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she added,

“Just get lost, you bastard. You’re the worst. I loved you. That’s why I felt guilty. I felt horrible that I never expressed my feelings for you, but now, I’m glad I didn’t. You don’t deserve my feelings.”

Sunghee cried and whispered. Meanwhile, Sejin refused to let her arm go. From nearby, she heard a familiar voice.

“Everyone can hear you from the conference room, so why don’t you go somewhere more private? Do you really have to have your love fight in public like this?”

Turning toward Seungju, Sejin yelled angrily,

“You bastard! What did you say to Sunghee? She’s upset!”

All Sunghee could do was blink and stare at Seungju. He was wearing an expensive suit and smiling as usual. Seungju shrugged and replied,

“What are you talking about? I didn’t say anything!”

“Then why would Sunghee say she had been fooled?!” Sejin asked in fury.

“How should I know? You should be the one who knows why. I assume it’s because you didn’t tell her about your mother. Isn’t that right, Sunghee?”

Seungju’s smooth face was infuriating. Sunghee considered throwing her purse at him, but she didn’t want all of her things spilling on the floor. After taking a deep breath, Sunghee tried to escape Sejin’s grasp. She insisted,

“I’m leaving. Let me go!”

“No, you can’t go. I won’t let you go. Seungju, give me the key to the hotel room.”

When Sejin asked, Seungju chuckled and threw him the hotel room card. Seungju asked,

“What am I supposed to tell Aunty?”

“I don’t care. If you don’t know what to say, just tell her you don’t know.”

Sejin forcefully pulled Sunghee toward the elevator, but she flailed and screamed. The hotel staff nearby looked confused and awkward. Sejin begged,

“Just be quiet and follow me, Sunghee. I’m begging you. I want to explain myself. I have no idea what you’re talking about, but let’s figure it out together!”

“No! Let go of me! You bastard! Liar! Player! Get away from me!”

Sunghee continued to scream, and Seunju chuckled before returning to the conference hall. He closed the door behind him. Sejin glared at Sunghee before lifting her up and placing her on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

Sunghee began to yell even louder,

“Let me go! I said let me go! This man is trying to kidnap me. He’s a conman! Please someone call the police!”

“I’ll fix it in three minutes, so leave us alone!” When Sejin ordered the hotel staff members who were getting closer, the workers flinched and nodded. Still carrying her over his shoulder, Sejin got into the elevator.

Feeling tired of screaming, Sunghee only sobbed as she hung onto Sejin. What a mess. She felt like an idiot. She should’ve left quickly. She should’ve returned home and not leave for three months. She didn’t want to return to this world anymore. She didn’t want to experience something like this again. She didn’t want to see this man anymore.

Suddenly, she felt herself being placed on something soft. Sunghee blinked and looked around to find herself on a bed. Closing the hotel room door behind him, Sejin took his jacket off and undid his tie. Throwing them on the table nearby, he turned toward her and asked,

“What do you mean I fooled you? It was you who cheated on me, Sunghee!”

“But you said it was fine. You said so! You already knew about Manager Min from the very beginning.”

Sunghee screamed, but because she was sniffling at the same time, she just looked ridiculous. Pushing back his hair roughly, Sejin placed a hand on his waist and glared at her.

“So what? I didn’t tell you it’s okay to kiss him! You were me, so how could you kiss another man?”

“Who cares about a kiss? It was just a kiss! If you wanted some pure innocent girl, you should go out and find a virgin!”
