Chapter 8.6

Sunghee asked Seungju,

“Do you have some time tonight? I would like to have dinner with you if possible.”

Seungju seemed surprised since Sunghee had never asked him out before. He stared for a moment before nodding. He replied,

“Sure. Meet me in the parking lot after work.”

“Okay.”

Sunghee hurriedly left the break room. She was so glad she found him alone for a moment. There were still many female employees who were interested in him, which meant that he was always surrounded by them.

On her way back to the office, she almost bumped into Sejin. With a frown, she looked up at him and grumbled,

“You gotta look where you’re going. You’re wearing your glasses, right?”

“It’s always you who isn’t looking where you’re going. Could it be that you have fallen for me and you’re trying to get my attention?”

Sejin replied quietly. His lips curled up into a smile, but his eyes didn’t move. Glaring at him sharply, Sunghee returned to her chair. Yura, glancing at her curiously, asked.

“Hey, is there something going on between you and Ryu Sejin?”

“Huh? Of course not.”

“I didn’t think it was possible, but then… I’ve noticed him staring at you all day for the last several days. You better be careful, Sunghee. Don’t even think about dating him. If you end up marrying a guy like him, you’ll ruin your life.”

Sunghee stared at Yura, who was organizing her documents, before asking cautiously,

“Do you consider money the most important aspect when you choose a man?”

Yura frowned in displeasure and replied,

“Don’t give me that look like I’m being shallow. You know you feel the same way.”

“I was just asking, that’s all. Don’t be angry.”

Yura pouted before grumbling,

“Of course money is important. You know that, don’t you? I mean, I can get used to pretty much any man, but money isn’t as easy. You can’t make a lot of money just because you try.”

Sunghee studied Yura for a moment before giving her a smile. She nodded, because she believed in the same logic as Yura. At least, she did in the past. But now, Sunghee couldn’t be sure. After what Heesu told her… Sunghee had to agree with Heesu that she didn’t need all the money in the world. She just needed enough to live comfortably. If she ended up having children, she would need more money, of course, but… Sunghee knew she would be able to think of something when the time comes.

But the man himself… Yura might have thought she could get used to ANY MAN, but Sunghee felt differently about it. Once she picked a man, she would have to live with him for the rest of her life. Sunghee knew that she had to be very careful about her decision.

Unfortunately, Sunghee couldn’t bring herself to broach the main subject during her dinner with Seungju. All she did was chat about silly things like TV shows, movies, and her friends. Seungju did the same; he just talked about some funny events his friends experienced. It was enough to amuse her, but nothing more.

But today, Sunghee found out something about Seungju. It was the fact that he rarely talked about himself either. He talked about his friends and the people around him, but not himself. Even the stories he told from when he was abroad were about the people he met. The mistakes or successes he talked about were also the things his friends went through.

Basically, all they had always talked about was the people around them, but never about themselves. Sitting in the passenger seat of Seungju’s car, Sunghee looked up at the moon. She still didn’t know why Seungju asked her out, but she knew it wasn’t because he was genuinely attracted to her. It was possible he felt something toward her, but it definitely wasn’t love.

When the car stopped in front of her apartment, Sunghee felt sure about her decision. After unfastening the seat belt, she turned toward him to say her piece when suddenly, Seungju leaned forward and held her face. When she hesitated, Seungju leaned closer to her.

Oh boy, Sunghee supposed she now was given the chance to experience what Heesu suggested.

She didn’t feel right about this. But… Sunghee also wanted to know. She wanted to see if there was any possibility of a relationship between Seungju and herself. Closing her eyes gently, she accepted his kiss.

Seungju’s lips were a little stronger and more aggressive than Sejin’s. On top of that, Seungju’s kiss was more… expert. Although it didn’t feel coercive, Sunghee felt like Seungju was trying his best to make her open her lips. Perhaps it was possible that Sejin wasn’t as amazing in bed as she thought. Perhaps this man, Seungju, might be the real sex king.

But despite Seungju’s amazing erotic techniques, Sunghee didn’t want to deepen the kiss. She didn’t want to allow Seungju any part of her. This wasn’t the right man for her. This… wasn’t Sejin. Sunghee realized that the problem wasn’t good technique. The problem here was that she wasn’t kissing Sejin right now.

Sunghee needed Sejin. Well, at least in bed.
