Chapter 213 - Advisor To The King

I woke up the next morning and casually looked down. My body was covered in hickeys and other suspicious marks. When I moved the blanket, my face paled. I was wearing only what I was born in.

AKA: I was wearing absolutely nothing...

My cheeks burned as I quickly covered myself up again. I heard someone breathing peacefully next to me and glanced over. I saw Dante under the covers next to me sleeping with a peaceful look on his face. He too was wearing absolutely nothing. His back was covered in claw marks and I could see the red bite marks on his upper body.

Beast. He's a beast.

The memory of the night before came flooding back. After getting Dante successfully drunk, or what I could only imagine was successful, he turned into a beast who picked me up and carried me out of the room. I tried to shout for help, but everyone just ignored me. Even the Knights seemed to turn the other way like they didn't see a thing.

Remind me to never rely on their help when I'm being kidnapped.

Anyway. At first, I didn't think Dante was actually drunk. His cheeks weren't flushed and he wasn't acting too strange. However, when he walked in to his personal bedroom at the Imperial Palace, I immediately knew I was wrong in my suspicions.

He was drunk. He was extremely drunk!

What happened next was extremely R-rated. Not in a bad way. Actually, it was actually really nice. I guess the only bad part was that his stamina was insane. Seriously. How could he not get tired after all that exercise?! Even now my hips ache and I feel like staying in bed all day.

My heart had not been prepared for such a thing, but I still got caught up in the heat of the moment and enjoyed every second of it. So, upon recalling all the embarrassing events that had occurred the night before, there was only one thing left for me to do.

Run away.

I picked up my dress from the ground and recalled that Dante had ripped it while in his drunken state. I put it on and tied a piece of cloth around me to prevent my dress from falling off. Unfortunately, it still showed off my chest which was covered in hickeys. I grabbed an extra shirt from Dante's dresser and put it on. It looked strange, but it would work until I got home.

I paused to rub my back. F*ck. I would hate to imagine how I would feel if it wasn't for the side effect of the poison.

I began my walk of shame out of the bedroom. Luckily, I am skilled at hiding. If I were to be caught by someone right now; I may actually die from shame. As I returned back to my house, I realized I had left behind something very important...

My panties.

__________

...A few months later...

I sat in a chair daydreaming about the night that happened many months ago. Every day I kept replaying that scene over and over again. I would smile from the pleasure of that night, then frown because I realized I kept remembering those obscene things. Why do I keep remembering that night?! It happened months ago, but I keep replaying that scene over and over again in my head!

Not that I'm complaining though. It was really REALLY nice. Now I understand why so many people in my previous world were always bragging about it. Of course, there was just one small problem.

Dante didn't remember a thing.

Not only was he an insatiable monster when he was drunk, but apparently he was also the kind of person who didn't remember a thing the next morning. I thought he was just messing around with me, but he truly did not remember a thing.

Apparently, he had woken up the next morning naked in his bed covered in scratch and bite marks. Yet, he didn't think to question it. According to Millie, he figured he had just gotten attacked by a rabid dog. Millie went on to say that this was precisely what happened.

I won't lie. My pride is just a little bit destroyed that he didn't remember.

Sigh... I can't believe my first time seemed more like a dream than reality... I also can't believe that I secretly want it to happen again...

Should I just get him drunk again?

I blushed and shook my head. There's no way I can do that! It's too embarrassing... Although...

"Are you ignoring me?!"

I snapped out of my dirty thoughts and saw William looking at me with an irritated expression. I cleared my throat, "No, your majesty."

William frowned, "Are you mocking me?"

I crossed my arms, "I'm not mocking you. You are the King now. Shouldn't I refer to you as such?"

He looked at me carefully, "Every time you call me King, it sounds a bit like you are making fun of me."

"Then should I just not refer to you as King?! Couldn't I get hanged for that?"

"Just refer to me as King in the presence of others. In private, you can just call me William. Hearing you say 'your majesty' makes me feel strange."

"Fine."

"Good."

We sat in silence both staring at each other.

I cleared my throat, "So what were we talking about?"

He groaned in exasperation, "I was telling you that I needed your help."

"Right. For what again?"

William was used to my short term attention span so he continued unabashed, "The high ranking nobles are making things difficult for me. I thought you could help me convince them to stop questioning my orders."

I nodded, "Right. They are bullying you so you want me to kick their a**."

"Nothing what I just said matches that." He sighed as he pinched together his eyebrows, "I just want your help convincing them to listen to me. What do you think I should do? You are my advisor. So advise me."

"Hmm... Well. Just blackmail them."

His face twitched, "Why is it always blackmail?"

I smiled at him, "Because it works and it's easy." I patted his shoulder, "Don't worry, William. You just give me a list of those bullies, and I will go handle them."

He sighed, "Fine. But I don't want to hear that the new King is blackmailing nobility."

I winked at him, "Don't worry. I got the perfect person who could do it. They aren't related to you one bit so no one will ever expect that it came from you."

Well... That person in question is also me... So...

He leaned back in his chair, "This is all just a gigantic mess. Half of the country wants war. The other half doesn't."

I sipped on my coffee, "What do you want?"

William tightened his fist, "I want war. The Sanki Kingdom actually dared to assassinate the previous King. They must be met with war or else everyone will think we are push-overs. Unfortunately, war is expensive. I suggested raising the tax on luxury items, but the nobles are protesting it. They think I should raise the tax on the commoners because there is more of them."

I placed my coffee down, "Please tell me you aren't going to actually raise the tax on the commoners."

William sighed, "I won't do it. I have seen first hand what kind of situation they are already in. I can't make it worse for them. However, I don't know what else I can do with the noble class acting the way they are. Most of them think we should display our prowess to the Sanki Kingdom, but they don't want to have to pay for it."

I nodded, "Everyone wants something, but no one wants to pay for it. I believe you should continue with the luxury tax, but don't tax the commoners any more than you already are. In war, the ones who suffer the most are always those in the lower class."

"I know... I am trying to figure out a way for the lower class to not be in such a precarious position if we do go to war."

"Have you tried asking the other Kingdoms for help?"

William made a guilty expression, "I was hoping you could do that for me? The Northern and Western Kingdom seem to really respect you. I think they would listen to you if you were to ask them to help us."

I frowned at this, "I understand why the Western Kingdom would listen to me..."

Because the two swingers who rule the Kingdom seem waaay too interested in Dante and I.

I continued, "But why would the Northern Kingdom listen to me? I visited that place when I was a child and it wasn't like I did much for them. Actually, I almost died there because I fell into a frozen lake. Why would they respect me?"

William forced out a chuckle and looked away with a nervous expression, "Apparently there is a new religion there that is really popular... And... Well..."

I tilted my head in confusion as he looked at me. I could tell he didn't really want to tell me the reason why.

He cleared his throat, "They just would listen to you if you asked. It's just a strong feeling I have."

I nodded in understanding, "Ahh. I think I know why."

His face paled, "You do?"

"Yes. This new religion must value women so they must be more willing to listen to me because I am a woman who is in a powerful position."

His face twitched. He responded sarcastically, "Yes. That's exactly it."

I flipped my hair, "I knew my amazing skill would come in handy one day."

"Skill? What skill?"

I frowned at him, "Be nice."

He smirked at me, "Well should I set up a day where they can come to discuss the matter?"

I nodded, "Yeah. Invite the rulers of the Western and Northern Kingdom to the Imperial palace. I will butter them up for you and convince them to help us."

"Wonderful. I knew I could count on you."

"Just make sure you pay me for this."

His smile fell, "Why am I not surprised..."

The door opened and Dante walked in. He looked at William with a cold expression, "It's late. We need to leave before it gets dark."

William glared at him, "You didn't have to interrupt so rudely. I am talking to my advisor about business. We finish when I say we are finished."

Dante glared back, "Well I don't think you ought to be discussing it this late in the day."

William spoke in a mocking tone, "Advisors must advise the King when the need arises. The time doesn't matter."

I looked between the two speechlessly as they continued to argue.

"If you need advice, just go ask Mary."

"Why would I ask Mary?!"

"Because you have a bigger chance getting advice from Mary than you do Seri."

Somehow I don't think he is actually talking about advice...

William stood up in anger, "Who cares what you think!!"

I looked between the two of them in confusion. Why are they acting so hostile towards each other?! Did something happen?

Dante added, "Well I don't think Seri wants to be here this late."

"How do you know what Seri wants?!"

"I just do."

They both turned to me and spoke simultaneously, "What do you think?!"

"Uhhh." I blinked in confusion.

Please don't drag me into this.

I stood up and cleared me throat, "I think I heard Millie calling for me. If you'll excuse me."

I quickly rushed out of the room, leaving behind the two who were acting like children as they argued over something ridiculous. Really. What has gotten into the two of them?!
