Chapter 199 - Time To Get SERIous

I looked into Lona's eyes calmly, "Can you hold it in?"

Lona glared at me, "Did you just ask if I can hold in my pregnancy?!"

"Is that a no?"

"IT'S A NO!!!"

I stood up quickly in a panic, "So what do we do!?!"

Joel also stood up in a panic, "WHAT DO WE DO!?!"

"SOMEONE CALL THE DOCTOR!!!" I shouted as I ran around in a panic.

Joel screamed, "SHOULD I GET THE DOCTOR?!"

Lona watched the two of us freaking out with an irritated expression.

My father jumped up and grabbed Dante by the collar, "Don't worry! We will go fetch the doctor!"

Dante looked up at my father wondering just why he was being dragged along as well.

My father glared at Dante threateningly, "Along the way we can have a... Nice chat."

Dante looked back at me for help, but I was too panicked to pay attention. I waved them off anxiously, "Just hurry!!!" My father nodded and dragged poor Dante out the door with him.

Joel and I continued panicking while fidgeting at Lona's side. Joel looked at me in a panic, "What if the child only has one arm?!"

I gasped, "What if it has three arms?!"

"WHAT IF IT'S BLIND?!"

"WHAT IF IT HAS NO HEAD!!!"

Lona rubbed her head in irritation as Joel and I continued to panic and shout at each other. Finally, she had enough, "WOULD YOU TWO SHUT UP!?"

Joel and I shut up immediately. Lona stood up slowly and we quickly went to help her. She spoke calmly, "I just need a bed to lie down on."

My face twitched, "Could you just lie down on the floor instead?"

She glared at me, "No."

My bottom lip trembled, "Please? I just bought a new bed... I don't want someone to..."

She grabbed me by the collar violently, "What?! Have a baby on it!?!" I nodded quickly wanting to cry. She smirked then turned to the servants, "Bring me to Seri's room. I'm going to have my baby there."

I fell to my knees, "NOOO! My bed!"

My mother stood up and nudged Oliver, "Oliver. Mother is going to go help Lona and Seri now. You behave." She looked up at Mary and Millie, "Could you two watch him for me? I'm afraid of what he will get into without me watching."

Mary grinned and bent down to look at Oliver, "Of course! I just love little children. They are so cute! If you ever need a babysitter I would be more than willing!"

Oliver slapped her head, "Idiot! Who would want an airhead as a babysitter?!"

Mary's looked down in dejection, "Oh..."

Oliver glanced at her face, then his eyes slowly trailed down to her large chest. A sly grin spread across his face, "On second thought, I wouldn't mind if you play with me. But I want to be carried!"

Mary's face lit up as she picked up Oliver. He quickly put his face in her cleavage. However, Mary did not realize what was happening as she assumed this was just a normal thing for a child to do. She giggled, "See? I'm great with kids!"

Everyone: "..."

My mother shook her head and muttered to herself, "How did I raise my children so wrong?"

My mother and I followed after Lona quickly as she hobbled to my bedroom to destroy my bed. Once she laid on the bed, my mother helped her with her breathing. My mother smiled, "That's it Lona... You're doing a good job..."

Lona's forehead had beads of sweat from the pain, "I just want a bottle of whiskey."

I patted her hand, "No.. You don't need it... The last thing you want is for your child to have fetal alcohol syndrome."

She grabbed my sleeve and pulled me down, "BRING ME IT!"

"AAH!"

As I was being attacked by the crazed Lona, the doctor walked into the room and froze. He watched as Lona was shaking me wildly as my mother was trying to pry her off. He cleared his throat, "Uh... I have morphine?"

Lona stopped shaking me and glared at the doctor, "Bring it."

After Lona got her painkillers, she became a lot more amicable.

The doctor nodded, "Alright. Now which one of you are the midwife?"

My mother pushed me forward, "She is."

I looked at my mother in a panic, "Wait! Why can't you do it? You've already had a kid and are far more suited for this!!!"

My mother smiled at me, "Lona chose you. Not me. Plus..." She positioned me right where the action was, "You should know this is what happens when you share a bed with a man..."

My face paled from the unimaginable "miracle" happening in front of my eyes.

My mother continued in a whisper, "You and Dante can sleep together, but be warned. This is what will happen to you."

The doctor continued to direct Lona as she shouted and strained. My mother smiled, "Oh look. She's crowning."

They say the second time is easier.

It's not.

*Faints*

________

I opened my eyes and saw everyone standing and staring at me. I sat up quickly and realized I had been moved to a couch in another room. I blinked in confusion, "Huh? What? What happened?"

Millie smiled at me, "You fainted while Lona was giving birth."

I rubbed my head which had a bump on it from where I landed, "Oh... And how did the birth go?"

Millie giggled, "You are a terrible midwife Seri."

"I know!!! I try telling them that too, but no one listens!"

I looked over and noticed Dante had a black eye. I frowned, "What happened to you?"

Who could give Dante a black eye? I've almost never seen him injured before. If someone injured him... Well, I would not want to meet that person.

Dante's golden eyes moved towards my father. My father forced out a chuckle, "We had a nice conversation... That's it... That's all..."

My mouth dropped in disbelief, "Daddy?! Did you punch Dante?!"

"Uhhhhh...."

I looked at Dante, "And did you let my father punch you!?!"

"..." Dante looked away quickly.

These guilty motherf*ckers.

I rubbed my forehead, "Just what did you two argue about?!"

My father rushed to my side with a nervous face, "My darling daughter! He said he was going to marry you and wanted my blessing!!! I had to punch him!"

I facepalmed.

Artie stepped forward with an excited expression, "You're getting married Seri!? I had no idea!"

I glared at him, "I'm not getting married just yet. Dante is just getting ahead of himself."

Artie chuckled mischievously, "Just yet you say?"

My face grew dark. I stood up from the couch quickly, "Let's go check on the baby."

Mary knitted her eyebrows together, "...Marriage?"

Millie clicked her tongue in irritation, "I'm going to try a new concoction on my slave tonight."

William looked at the ground with a complicated expression. His hands hung at his side in a fist. He didn't speak as he knew he would not have been able to say anything nice.

I popped my head into my bedroom, "Can we come in?"

Lona sighed, "Have you calmed down now?"

I walked in with a guilty expression, "I told you not to make me the midwife. I'm not cut out for it. So..." I looked at the baby in her arms, "Is it a boy or a girl?"

Lona smiled and showed me the baby, "It's a Leia."

I chuckled and poked the baby's cheek, "Hehe. Lona named you after me."

"I did not." Lona said with a stern face.

I shrugged and didn't bother arguing. When Dante heard this he chuckled. When everyone looked at him, he immediately stopped and smiled back at them. He wouldn't explain just how wrong Lona was.

I sighed as I looked at the baby, "Guess this means I have to get serious... I have a baby now..."

Lona raised an eyebrow, "What are you talking about?"

I smiled at her, "Oh, nothing. I just need to start working harder, so I can properly care for my godchild. Time to kickstart my totally legal career."

I winked at the others, but only Millie, Dante, and Mathias knew what I was alluding to. While everyone took turns looking at the baby, I went and whispered to one of my servants. "As soon as she leaves, burn that bed."

"Yes my lady." The servant went to leave, but paused and looked at Mary. "Will I see you at the church service on Sunday?"

Mary nodded in excitement. Her starry eyes twinkled as she spoke, "Of course! I will be there in the front row!"

I raised an eyebrow at the exchange. Since when did Mary become religious? Oh well. Not my problem.

...A few days later...

I sat on my throne overlooking all the gamblers below me. This world had never seen a casino before. All that it ever had was dingy gambling dens that were extremely unsafe. However, my casino was far safer and much more comfortable compared to anything anyone has ever seen in this world. Just overnight, it became so popular everyone was trying to come and gamble.

There was only one rule: Everyone must stay anonymous.

This made it easier on me. Since I was leading a double life as the Black Death, I wanted to hide my face without seeming too shady. Plus, everyone really enjoyed the anonymous atmosphere. It made it seem more mysterious and intriguing.

I watched as everyone spent their money without a care. Dollar signs appeared in my eyes as I watched the fools gamble away all of their money. The atmosphere was loud and joyful. Whenever someone won, the worker running the game would use a loud noise maker. This cheerful noise made people want to keep gambling. It is a shame that lightbulbs aren't invented yet. All I was missing was the flashing lights.

Dante glanced at me, "You are good at this."

I nodded and sat back in my throne, "I actually owned a casino before."

"You did?"

"Yeah. After I became rich, I bribed a politician to sell me the land belonging to the orphanage I grew up at. Then I tore it down and built a casino. It was one last f*ck you to those evil nuns."

Mathias knocked on the door and walked in, "Seri... You have another client..."

"Wow. So many people want to buy information these days." I stood up and cracked my fingers, "Welp. Time to go back to work."
