Chapter 170 - Seri Goes Through MidLife Crisis

I walked into the student council room and noticed that Lucius and Dante were both missing. I sat down, "Where are the other two?"

William shuffled some papers and spoke without looking at me, "I had Dante go deliver some papers to the headmaster. I'm not sure about Lucius."

Artie answered apathetically, "He's been running away from me lately. He's probably trying to avoid me."

I glanced at him, "Why? What happened? Trouble in lover's paradise?"

William snickered and Artie shot him a glare. William cleared his throat and acted like nothing had happened. Artie crossed his arms, "No, there was no trouble. He just-"

Artie shut his mouth instantly. I raised an eyebrow as he blushed slightly. "He just what?"

William snickered more causing Artie to blush more. I looked at William, "You seem to know what happened."

He nodded and looked up smirking at Artie, "Oh, I know. I came across them when they were-"

"SHUT UP!" Artie bellowed interrupting him.

Now I'm even more curious.

I looked at him with a nosy smile, "Oooh?"

Artie glared at me, "It's all your fault!!!"

I pointed to myself in confusion, "My fault?"

He frowned, "You just had to have a drinking contest with Lucius. You got him so drunk he turned into an idiot!"

I muttered to myself, "But he was already an idiot..."

Artie frowned, "Not to mention you picked me up with monster like strength and threw me!!"

I forced out a chuckle, "Oh, I did that... Didn't I..."

Millie smiled at me, "You certainly did a lot of things that night."

I looked at her with a guilty expression. I grabbed her shoulders and spoke with a serious tone, "Millie... I have to apologize for what I did to you that night..."

She tilted her head, "Oh? It's alright. I'm not upset."

I shook my head, "No.. Let me apologize Millie..." I took a deep breath and spoke quickly, "I'm sorry for flashing you my underwear."

"YOU DID WHAT?!" William nearly fell out of his chair.

Millie giggled, "It's alright Seri. Luckily you did it to me." Her face got serious, "But if you had flashed someone else your underwear, who knows what would have happen. They may have attacked you. It was a good thing you did it to me because I was totally immune to it."

But didn't she look extremely happy and even get a nosebleed?

I frowned deep in thought, "But I seem to remember you passing out from excitement..."

She didn't miss a beat, "Oh, you must have not remembered correctly. You were awfully intoxicated."

Mary pouted, "Where's my apology? You also groped my chest."

I looked at her as she pouted feeling wronged. I blinked, "Ah... I did that too..." I looked forward with a smile, "No regrets!"

Mary's face fell. William glared at me, "Stop assaulting Mary."

I stuck my tongue out, "Why? Are you jealous?"

William frowned, "No, because it's wrong."

Mary blushed bashfully, "Oh, I don't mind that much..."

We all looked at her. Then I quickly changed the subject, "Well, what I did to everyone else doesn't compare to what I did to Dante."

William frowned, "What did you do to Dante?"

I made a serious face, "Nothing."

"..."

Now THEY were curious.

Artie clicked his tongue, "I still think it's your fault that Lucius acted like an idiot."

I huffed, "It's not my fault Lucius has a low alcohol tolerance. Why are you getting so upset? What exactly did you two do?"

He blushed and shouted angrily, "NOTHING!"

"Well obviously it was something!!"

"I said it was nothing!!"

Mary forced a smile, "Now, now. Let's not argue. I made a cake today to celebrate Seri's birthday."

I clapped my hands as she put a beautiful cake on the table in front of me. "Yaay! More cake!"

William clicked his tongue, "Even though you're an adult, you are still immature and act like a child."

I frowned in anguish, "I do not! I am extremely mature. I even came to the student council room on time today."

He rolled his eyes, "Congratulations for doing what you are already expected to do."

I puffed out my chest, "Don't talk back to your elders, William."

"You're not my elder."

"I am too! I'm actually 26!"

He sighed, "This again?"

Millie chuckled, "But Seri, you've been saying that ever since you were 5. If that was true, wouldn't you actually be almost 40 now?"

I froze.

I counted on my hands.

I turned pale.

I burst out crying, "I'M AN OLD LADY!!!!"

My head hit the table as I started crying. I never even thought about it like that! I didn't account for the 11 years I have already been here!

I sobbed, "I need to buy a car!"

Millie tilted her head, "A car?"

That's right! What do most middle aged people do to feel younger? They buy a bad a** sports car! BUT THERE'S NO CARS HERE! So what can I do?

I sniffled as I looked at Millie, "Has botox been invented yet?"

"Uhm... No?"

I burst into tears again. Millie comforted me by patting my back. Lucius walked in and noticed me crying with my face down on the table. He made eye contact with Artie and they both jerked their gaze away, blushing slightly.

Lucius frowned as he sat down, "What's going on here?"

William answered blandly, "Seri's going through midlife crisis."

His face showed his confusion, "But.... She's 16..."

I sobbed, "MY LIFESPAN IS HALFWAY OVER!"

He looked even more confused, "She's going to die at 32?"

William shrugged apathetically, "Probably sooner judging by how she lives."

Millie couldn't help but agree, "She certainly doesn't have the healthiest of diets."

I looked at Millie feeling aggrieved, "Are you trying to jinx me?"

Lucius snickered, "Hey, Seri. You look like you have something on your face."

"Huh? What?" I blinked in confusion feeling my face.

Lucius looked closer, "Oh, nevermind. It's just a wrinkle."

I shrieked, "F*CK YOU!"

He shouted back, "NO, F*CK YOU!"

William frowned and muttered to himself, "Why is everyone becoming more proficient in swearing?"

Mary smiled at us, "Why are you two arguing? I thought you became friends."

Lucius and I both looked at her and spoke simultaneously, "What?"

She looked between the two of us nervously, "At the party... You two said you were best friends..."

William chuckled, "Not just best friends, they actually became blood brothers."

Both of our faces turned pale.

Sh*t. Now I remember. Why can't I just forget my embarrassing drunken memories?!

Ugh... I need to get better at drinking....

Lucius spoke, "There's no way that's true! I would never become friends or blood brothers with an old hag!"

I screamed, "WHO ARE YOU CALLING AN OLD HAG?!"

"OBVIOUSLY YOU!"

"I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR A**!"

Everyone watched with deadpan expressions as we argued with each other. Lucius stood up, "I'M NOT AFRAID OF AN OLD LADY! YOU WILL BREAK A HIP BEFORE YOU COULD EVEN HIT ME!"

"YOU BASTARD!"

I picked up the cake and chucked it at Lucius with all my strength. He quickly ducked. Everyone except Lucius watched as it sailed through the air in slow motion. Dante opened the door behind Lucius.

The cake slammed into his face, covering him completely in cake pieces and icing.

We all stared in horror as the cake dripped from Dante to the ground. His golden eyes glared frighteningly as the temperature began to plummet significantly. Lucius, who had his back turned to the door, didn't notice that Dante was behind him covered in cake.

Lucius chuckled victoriously, "Hah! You missed! Nice try grandma!"

His laughter slowed down as he noticed us staring behind him with wide eyes. He suddenly had a bad feeling. He slowly looked over and noticed Dante standing behind him with a chilling scowl. He shrieked and then ran behind me.

He pushed me forward, "It was Seri! She threw the cake!"

My heart leapt in fear, "OI! You bastard! Are you trying to get me killed?!"

He nodded, "Take one for the team Seri."

I pushed him forward, "It was Lucius's fault! He was the one making fun of me!"

He pushed me forward, "No! It was Seri!"

I pushed him forward, "It was Lucius!"

"Seri!"

"Lucius!"

Dante wiped the cake off of his face and tossed it on the ground. We had pushed each other forward so much that we were now facing Dante. Ah! He looks so angry!!! I'm definitely dead!! I need to think quickly.

I shouted, "BERTRAM! ATTACK!"

Dante tensed up and quickly looked at the ceiling. He noticed Bertram in between two banisters snoring peacefully. He frowned realizing he had been tricked. When he looked back down, he realized both Lucius and I had already ran around him and out the door. He stomped over to his chair and sat down still covered in icing and cake. He glared straight ahead, making the room extremely tense.

Artie glanced at him almost afraid to speak, "Dante... What are you thinking?"

He answered calmly, "I'm thinking about getting a dungeon."

________

I walked around outside having successfully ran away from Dante. I found myself over in the part of the Academy I had never been before. I saw people riding horses and I looked over in excitement.

Ah! It's a stable!! I want to go pet some cute horsies!

I skipped around the stable petting the horses. They neighed in excitement as I made sure to give them all proper head pats. I heard two men speaking in hurried voices and looked over feeling curious. One man tried holding on to a horse that was rearing and neighing in anger.

He spoke with a worried expression, "I can't control him!"

The other shook his head, "It's no use. Since we can't tame him we will have to get rid of him."

My face lit up. If I can't buy a car... Why not get the next best thing?!

I rushed forward, "Excuse me sirs, I will buy him!"

They looked at me in disbelief. One spoke, "Little Miss... This horse is too wild. I can't in good conscience sell you this horse."

I smiled, "Nah, don't worry about it. I like them wild. Plus, I am a natural when it comes to taming animals."

They didn't believe me one bit. I stepped towards the horse and held out my hands. I made calming shushing noises in order to soothe the upset stallion. The horse looked at me hesitantly, slowly calming down. Their mouths dropped as I pet the horse who had now became obedient and happy.

I smiled at them, "See? Now can I buy him?"

The agreed readily. One helped me up on the horse as he spoke, "Miss, would you like to work for me? I think you would be an excellent horse tamer!"

"Sorry but..." I winked at him, "I don't work for any man. Hyah!"

The horse started running at my command. I giggled in excitement as he raced through the Academy. I chuckled, "Let's go say hi to the losers in the student council!"

The horse neighed in understanding and rushed in the direction I told it to. Inside the student council room, everyone heard shouting outside. Mary looked up, "Is that Seri's voice?"

They all rushed to the window, opened it, and looked out. I waved to them as they all gawked at me, "Oi! Look at my new ride!"

Millie shouted with a hint of worry, "Seri! Do you even know how to ride a horse?!"

I gave her a thumbs up, "Not one bit!"

Their mouths dropped. William shouted, "Seri! Get off of that thing!"

I shouted back, "He's not a thing! His name is Mr. Glue!"

"What kind of name is that?!"

I smiled cheekily, "Because he's going to make great glue one day!"

The horse glanced at me and huffed with aggrievement. Without warning, he took off sprinting. I screamed as I barely managed to hold on. Everyone watching from the window quickly ran out of the building in a panic.

The horse ran through the town, barely missing the pedestrians. I sobbed from fear, "Mr. Glue!!! It was a joke!! I'm not actually going to turn you into glue!"

A man pushing a cart crossed the street. I screamed at him, "MOVE YOU IDIOT!"

He screamed as he abandoned the cart to run off to the side. I closed my eyes in fear and held on to the horse tightly. "AAHH! Have mercy!"

The horse jumped over the cart. We soared through the air in slow-motion as I cursed to myself. He landed elegantly and continued to sprint. Before long, we had already made our way out of town. I clung to him as if my life depended on it. He didn't slow down until we were miles away and at a pasture outside of town.

I gasped for air, "Mr. Glue! What are you doing?"

He whinnied and looked ahead. A female horse and a foal looked at him and whinnied in excitement. They rushed over to him and jumped around him playfully as if they were excited.

I was hit by a realization, "Ah, this is your family..."

He must have wanted to be with his family. I sighed, "Well, Mr. Glue... I would never want to separate a family. I will set you free, like you should be."

He neighed happily as I dismounted. He nuzzled me lovingly and skipped off into the distance to be with his family. I looked around.

Sh*t. How am I supposed to get home now?
