Chapter 157 - That Is The Wrong Genre!!!

We returned back to our cabins for the night. The boys were in one cabin and across from that was the girl's cabin. Surrounding the cabins were several Knights that hid in the woods wearing all black.

I yawned and got into bed. I looked up and noticed Mary standing over me and staring. I frowned, "What."

She looked around anxiously, "Can I sleep with you? I'm scared."

I blinked, "No."

I turned around and she started shaking me, "B-But I can't sleep!!! What if Bigfoot comes to eat me?!"

"Bigfoot isn't real!! It was just a story!!"

Her bottom lip stuck out, "Really?"

"Yes." I hesitated, "Well maybe. Anyway, you'll be fine. We have several Knights surrounding the place to protect us."

"It's not to protect us... It's only to protect the Prince."

"Good point. Well then, if anything happens just take William hostage. That'll get their attention."

As I turned back over to sleep, she began to shake me again. "Pleeease Seri?? I'm scared!"

"Well I'm scared at the idea of sleeping with you!!!"

A girl's gotta protect her chastity.

She nudged me, "Come on Seri! Scoot over! Don't be selfish!"

"No! Get out of here Mary!"

Millie looked over to us and frowned, "Could you two keep it down?"

Mary, who had been trying to climb into my bed, froze at the sound of her voice. She looked at Millie with twinkling eyes, "Are you afraid too, Millie? Is that why you're not sleeping?"

Millie tilted her head, "Why would I be afraid?"

"Well... Those scary stories... And that creepy house... I think it'd be safer to sleep in Seri's room tonight."

I glared at her, "My room?! We are all sharing a room!!! You're bed is right over there!"

Mary pouted, "But I still think it'd be safer if we shared a bed."

Millie's face lit up as if she had just heard of a brilliant idea. She rushed over to my bed with an anxious expression, "That's right! I'm also scared Seri!! Let me sleep with you!"

My mouth dropped, "What the hell!?"

Millie made a pitiful expression, "Do you not want to sleep with me? But we did it when we were younger... Why can't we do it now?"

I coughed awkwardly, "Please don't word it like that... Someone may get the wrong idea." I sighed, "Ah in any case, this bed isn't big enough to share."

Millie smiled, "Then we will just have to snuggle closely!"

I tried to fight the both of them off, but in the end I let them win. They both crawled into my bed with victorious faces. I stared up at the ceiling with a blank expression as the two of them held on to me, one on each side.

Millie snuggled in, "See? Isn't this nice?"

Mary also snuggled in, "Ah, Seri... You smell as amazing as I had thought you would."

I sighed, "So long chastity..."

Millie glanced up at me, "Hm? Chastity?"

I shook my head, "Nevermind. Let's just go to sleep."

They both agreed and we all shut our eyes...

A few minutes passed...

I opened my eyes, "I can't sleep."

Mary opened hers as well, "Oh thank heavens it's not just me. I'm still too terrified to sleep."

Millie opened her eyes, "Why are you so scared?"

Mary cried out, "Why wouldn't I be scared?! Your story was horrifying!! And if yours wasn't bad enough, Dante had to share an even scarier one!!!"

I couldn't help but nod in admiration, "Who knew Dante was such a good storyteller." I looked down at Millie, "But why can't you sleep, Millie?"

Millie's smile turned eerie, "Hmm. I wonder why."

I looked away knowing I was playing with fire. I sat up and they two of them sat up with me. I thought for a moment, "Ah! There's one thing we can do since we can't sleep."

Millie smiled enticingly, "What are you thinking?"

I smiled back, "We should infiltrate the boy's cabin and play a prank on them!"

Millie blinked, "Oh."

Mary deflated, "Aww... I thought you were going to suggest something else..."

I frowned at her, "What did you think I was going to suggest?"

Mary blushed, "O-Oh nothing."

"Hmm." I surveyed her for a moment before looking away, "Anyway! I actually have a perfect plan. I even prepared some things beforehand."

I got out of bed and went through my trunk. I pulled each item out and placed it on the bed. Mary was surprised, "Wow! You actually planned it all out and prepared so much."

Millie looked at it, "Seri... I fear you may have too much free time on your hands."

I smiled, "Come on, get dressed. We are going to go have some fun."

As we crawled out of our cabin, we crept through the night wearing black. I directed the two of them following me so we could avoid getting caught by the Knights. It was easier than it should be.

William needs to get better knights...

Bertram sat on the roof and sighed when he noticed us. I stopped in front of the building and felt someone push me. I fell forward and glared as I whispered, "Mary! You're so bad at this! You're going to get us caught!"

Mary whispered back, "I'm sorry!! But it's so hard to see!! Also, I've never worn pants before. It feels funny."

Millie smiled, "I think it feels nice."

I glared at Mary, "This is why if this was a horror film, you'd be the first to die!!"

Mary sniffled in despair. I turned back to the cabin and climbed through a window. I helped the other two in and held a finger over my mouth. We hid behind a wardrobe. The boys had already fallen asleep.

I stopped by Artie's bed first and carefully placed some fake bugs in the bed. Next, we stopped at Mathias's bed. However, since he was still unconscious from the fright he endured earlier, I decided it was best not to tease him further.

Then I moved on to William's bed. However, I decided to be meaner to William this time. Instead of fake bugs, I put real ones in his bed. It had been hard catching all of them, but it was certainly worth it.

I then moved to Lucius's bed. I looked at Millie and mouthed silently, "Where's the bowl of water?"

Millie quietly pulled out a bowl and filled it with cold water. She handed it to me and I took it carefully. Then I gently grabbed Lucius's hand and put it in the water. I chuckled under my breath and waited for him to wet the bed. After a while, I frowned.

Why is he not peeing himself? I thought this was supposed to work!!! Ugh.. I really did watch too much television...

Mary and Millie simultaneously looked behind me and turned stiff. Their eyes widened in fear as they stared at something behind me.

I looked at them and whispered, "What? Is there something behind me?"

They both nodded quickly.

I gulped, "Is it a ghost?"

They shook their heads. Mary managed to whisper, "N-Not a ghost... B-But a demon."

I slowly turned my head and noticed a demon standing behind me. I shrieked, waking up everyone in the room.

Dante frowned as he stood behind me, "..."

William sat up, "WHAT?!" He looked around in a panic and saw Millie, Mary, and I staring at him in ninja looking outfits, "WHAAAT?!"

Artie shrieked, "WHY ARE THERE BUGS IN MY BED?!" He swatted one off and realized it was fake. He sighed, "Oh, they are fake."

William looked down and noticed that there were bugs in his as well. His face turned pale, "Oh, these are fake?" He picked one up and it started crawling across his hand. He shrieked, "WHAAAAT!?"

The Knight's heard his scream and rushed into the cabin. They watched as William rolled around on the floor in a panic. They looked at Dante who just shook his head. They shrugged and walked back out hiding in the forest once more.

Lucius sat up and frowned, "Why is my hand in cold water?" He looked up and noticed everyone in the room, "Why are you three in here?"

Mathias jumped out of bed and helped William swat off the bugs. After he got them off, William stood up in a huff, "YES! WHY?!"

I shrugged, "Mary was scared."

William frowned, "That doesn't explain anything."

"I thought if we had some fun, she wouldn't annoy me as much."

Artie frowned, "Why do you seem so prepared?"

I looked away, "No reason."

Suddenly, something large ran past the window. Mary and Artie screamed. Artie jumped into Lucius's arms as Mary jumped into my arms. I frowned at her in irritation, "What?!"

Mary turned pale, "A ghost just ran past the window!!"

William frowned, "There's no such thing as ghosts."

I nodded, "Yeah, it's probably one of the knights."

*Knock*

*Knock*

*Knock*

We all slowly turned to look at the door. Mary yelped, "IT'S A GHOST!"

William hid behind Dante, "Seri! Go look!"

"What?! Why should I go look?! I don't want to die!" I pushed Dante, "Dante, go investigate."

Dante glanced at me and opened the door. There was nobody there.

William spoke, "Dante, you should go outside and check."

Dante nodded.

Artie pushed me forward, "Seri, you go too."

"What?! Why should I go if Dante's going?!"

Artie clicked his tongue, "You can't let Dante go alone!! What if he dies?!"

I rolled his eyes, "He's not going to die. He's the best swordsman in the kingdom."

Mary frowned, "Seri... You're just going to abandon Dante and make him die alone?"

I looked at Dante who pretended to have a miserable face. I chewed on my cheek, "But it's not fair! He has a sword! I don't carry around a sword!"

Millie pulled out a knife, "I have a knife you can borrow."

I took it with a grim expression, "Millie... Why did you have a knife in your pocket..."

Millie smiled, "Hmm?"

"Nevermind. I don't want to know." I groaned, "Alright. Let's go die."

We walked outside and I grabbed onto Dante in fear. Dante raised an eyebrow and I forced a smile in response. We continued walking and I looked up at Bertram on the roof.

"Hey Bertram, who just knocked on the door?"

Bertram looked down, "What do you mean? No one knocked on the door."

Okay, not the answer I was looking for.

I sobbed, "WRONG GENRE!! THIS IS A ROMANCE! NOT A HORROR!"

Dante smirked, "A romance?"

I frowned, "Don't get any ideas."

A black shape blurred past us and ran off into the woods. Dante and I glanced at each other. He turned to the forest and frowned, "Did you see that?"

Dante sprinted into the forest without waiting for my answer. I screamed and ran after him, "DON'T ABANDON ME!"

Bertram noticed us running off and followed in a panic. Inside William spoke, "Alright. Now it's time to get even with Seri. Let's jump out and scare her."

They jumped out, but noticed Seri and Dante missing. Artie scratched his head, "Did they... Run off into the woods?"

They all exchanged glances before running off into the forest after them. They found Bertram first. Everyone gasped for breath as William stopped to speak with Bertram.

William spoke, "Bertram. Where did Seri and Dante go?"

Bertram shrugged, "Don't know. I lost them."

William frowned, "I thought you were Seri's bodyguard. How can you let her outrun you?"

Bertram sighed, "What do you expect? I'm almost 50! My body doesn't work like it used to. My knees hurt and my back aches-"

William cut in, "Well I guess we should go look for them."

They all left behind Bertram. He watched them walk away and sighed. As they walked through the forest, they came across an older woman. William nodded at her, "Hey, did you see two people run through here?"

The old woman looked at them with a eerie expression. She pointed, "They went into the forest... I fear they shall not return..."

William frowned, "Why not?"

"Those who enter the forest... Are forced to encounter their worse fears... They are never seen again..."

William rolled his eyes, "Yeah right." They started walking again. William paused and stopped everyone, "Wait... Why was there an old woman out in the forest this late at night?"

Everyone slowly turned around to see that the old woman had disappeared into thin air...
