Chapter 330 - The Scum Is Hopeful

Name:The Scum Is A Author:HuilongShenghou
Huilong Continent, Shashan Pass.

"My Lord!" a subordinate cried as he ran towards them. He immediately knelt before Wu Ran and bowed while cowering. It was obvious from his pale face he is bringing a bad news. "My Lord! Those righteous cultivators are very hard to deal with. They killed each and every people we sent…" he reported. He is referring to Xie Lan, Fan Wen, Jing Rui, Qian Tian, Yu Sheng and the others. "They are close to sealing all the Ni Lai Gates that are left in the Southmost Region. If they did, we'll…" he said, his voice trailing off. He didn't dare raise his gaze to look at the ugly expression on Wu Ran's face now.

As expected, Wu Ran's face darkened and his mood immediately fouled. "Send the 'generals'." He said.

"Yes!" the subordinate immediately answered and hurriedly left. He didn't want to be the one who'll Wu Ran beat to vent his anger. Thus, as if there are wheels beneath his feet, he was gone in the blink of an eye.

Wu Ran's lips were pulled into a frowned as he waved his hand. BAM! One of the Twin Sand Mounds was hit by a black light and the area where it was hit exploded! Not long later and the mountain violently shook; the tremors were felt in the Shashan Pass. However, no one dared make a sound even after they fell on the ground because of the violent shaking of the ground.

Wu Ran is very mad. He admits that he made a mistake being too confident and underestimating Cheng Sheng's and his friends' capabilities. He was overconfident with his people after they destroyed each and every sect they pass by, killing everyone that opposed them or those that try to escape, so he overestimated their strength.

The greatest variable is Cheng Sheng, though. His eyes narrowed as he hatefully glared at the barrier surrounding the Sand Sea Mountain. It's too glaring for him. "ARGH!!!" he screamed, feeling frustrated.

He shot the barrier again. But, as expected, the barrier didn't even have a scratch. It was always unscathed even from his attacks.

"Kill them…" he said, his chest heaving up and down because of anger. "KILL THEM ALL!!!" he shouted.

East Region, Xinfaxian, Xinfaxian Sect.

"LET GO OF ME! LET GO OF ME!!!" Sun Yi screamed after Sun Rong dragged him back to his room. Just as he had removed the chains and escaped, Sun Rong caught him off-guard and dragged him back inside.

Why? Why was he here instead of helping the others fight against the demonic cultivators? It's because he was put asleep for three months! After Wu Yuan left, he was very depressed and locked himself in his room. When he heard Xie Lan, Fan Wen and the others are planning to start taking action against the demonic cultivators after they saw the signal from Cheng Sheng, he also prepared.

But, just as he was about to leave his room, he suddenly felt faint. Before he lost consciousness, he saw his elder brother's face, and heard him apologized. Everything turned black. When he woke up, he learned that everyone already left, and only the Huakai Sect and Huli Sect remained. When he heard it was already three months that passed, he was dumbstruck.

It was too late for him to follow Xie Lan, Fan Wen, Li Tian, Feng Mo and the others to the Southmost Region. Even if he did, it won't make a difference. It's not that he is afraid of dying, but that he might actually just add to Cheng Sheng's and the others' problems. What if Wu Ran would capture him and use him as a hostage? Although he is willing to lay his life, but Wu Yuan wouldn't want that. He also knew that Cheng Sheng and the others wouldn't sacrifice anyone in exchange for peace.

Sun Yi knows they are that compassionate, most especially Cheng Sheng, albeit he is a scum. In fact, he isn't a scum like everyone thought. He's actually the very opposite.

"Sun Yi…" Sun Rong called when he saw the vacant look on his younger brother's face. "Do you know why I made you sleep for three months?" he asked.

Sun Yi looked at him.

Sun Rong's heart ached seeing his younger brother's bloodshot eyes. "It's not me. It's Wu Yuan." He told him.

Sun Yi's eyes widened in shock. He was stunned. "Yuan… why…?" he asked as his tears fell.

"Wu Yuan is afraid he, Chen Yan and Cheng Sheng can't return." Sun Rong answered.

Sun Yi is a smart person. Sun Rong doesn't need to elaborate his words, since Sun Yi can guess the implication. The Youxiwang Sect was destroyed, and the Wu Family and Chen Clan were all killed. Wu Fan and Chen Jing's status are unknown, and only Wu Yuan is the only one left in the Wu Family. Meanwhile, only Chen Han and Cheng Sheng are the ones left in the Chen Clan.

If none of them returned alive… Sun Yi is there. Sun Yi is already a part of the Wu family after he married Wu Yuan. As long as the Youxiwang Sect can be revived, it doesn't matter who is the leader. There is still hope for the flag of the Youxiwang Sect to be waved. Sun Yi is the beacon of hope Wu Yuan and Chen Han left for the revival of the Youxiwang Sect. As long as the both of them, with Cheng Sheng and Fei Yin, could defeat the forces of the villains, it doesn't matter whether they return alive or a corpse.

As long as there is hope.

"I know." Sun Yi said. "I won't escape anymore. Yuan hopes for me to live. I will do my best to stay alive." He told Sun Rong. "I won't let him… I won't let them down." He added.

Sun Rong saw that Sun Yi has finally calmed down. He didn't hold him in his room anymore and led him outside. Just as they got out of the room, though, they bumped into Tang Teng and Li Nanzi.

"Eldest young master Sun!" the two sect leaders cried. "And…" they said and their voice trailed off when they saw Sun Yi.

Sun Rong smiled and Sun Yi cupped his fists. "Sect leader Tang. Sect leader Li." He called. "What's wrong?" Sun Yi asked when he saw that the expression on the old men's faces was strange.

"Second young master Sun…" they muttered and their expression looked even more complicated.

Sun Yi tilted his head. He doesn't understand what these old men are thinking. "Huh? Where are junior Tang and the others?" he asked, referring to Tang Zhe, Tang Yun, Guo Cheng, Shan Lu, and Shu Mu and Xiao Le, as well as Wu Xi.

Hearing his question, Tang Teng and Li Nanzi stiffened. "That…" they finally managed to speak, only for their voice sound like the voice of mosquito.

Sun Rong also noticed the strangeness of the two sect leaders. "Sect leader Tang, sect leader Li. Did something happen?" he asked.

"This…" they hemmed and hawed. Even though it was Sun Rong who asked, but their gaze fell on Sun Yi. "Second young master Sun…" they called. "Shu Mu, Xiao Le, Xi Ming and Xi Xing… they went to the South Region to help Shu Mu look for his remaining fellow disciples that are alive." They explained.

Sun Rong and Sun Yi looked at the two old men. They know they still have something to say.

As expected, they continued. "And… Tang Zhe, Tang Yun, Guo Cheng and Shan Lu, along with Wu Xi…." They said. "They went to the West Region. They want to kill all the demonic cultivators in the West Region to protect the West Region, and reclaim the land from the hands of the demonic cultivators, in order to rekindle the hope of everyone. The Huilong Continent is incomplete without the West Region." They explained.

Hearing this, Sun Rong's and Sun Yi's expression changed. "Brother…" Sun Yi called.

Sun Rong took a deep breath and sighed. "I know." He said. "Go." He patted his back. "You'll be letting down more if you've stayed." He helplessly said.

Tang Teng and Li Nanzi looked puzzled and they looked at each other.

Sun Yu looked at Sun Rong and smiled. Now that he has friends to help him reclaim their land, he would be totally a coward if he still won't fight. "Thank you!" he told Sun Rong, then looked at Tang Teng and Li Nanzi and bowed.

Then, he went back inside his room to prepare to follow the Huakai Sect disciples.

Huilong Continent, Southernmost Region.

Just as Zuo Zhe and Lei Ling were finished strengthening the seals on the talismans that act as the barriers of the Millennium Ship, they suddenly heard a loud crash, followed by the violent shaking of the Millennium Ship.

"AAAAH!" they screamed when they fell on the floor of the ship. "What – what is happening?!" they asked each other.
