“Kenneth, how can you do this? I’m your girlfriend now!” Lucy looked at him, feeling a little hurtful. Her facial muscles twitched when she saw those security guards beating the hell out of Kenneth.

Watching Ryan leaving, Simon and Kenneth looked at each other, both thinking to themselves. ‘At least Ryan knew when to stop. And he is just riding on someone’s coattails and will not be so lucky next time.’

After Tony saw Helene and Ryan out, he returned to the hotel lobby and shot a glare at both Simon and Kenneth. “Get the hell out of here! I will snap the legs of both of you if you two dare to look for trouble with Mr. Fletcher again!”

Helene sent Ryan to Lumi’s place, watching him enter the villa before she left.

In the living room of the villa, Lumi was sitting barefoot on the sofa while watching TV. When she saw Ryan come back, she smiled at him. “You are back!”

She had been in a good mood ever since the company’s cash deficit problem was solved. Wearing a purple tulle nightdress with her fair collarbone exposed, she looked hot.

“Yeah! I have got a gift for your grandma.” While speaking, Ryan took out a pair of earrings that he had obtained from Preston Parker, and handed it to Lumi.

Lumi took the earrings in her hand and glanced at them in puzzlement. The earrings were like the pair she had bought before, but she had no idea what material they were made of. “Where did you get these?”

“It is getting late. Go take a shower and sleep.” Lumi got to her feet, her face smitten. “I… will wait for you upstairs.”

Ryan was taken aback and turned to look at her in hesitation.

‘Waiting for me upstairs? What does she mean?’

Sensing Ryan’s stare, Lumi blushed even more and looked coy. “Don’t you overthink. What I mean is, we may share a room tonight with you sleeping on the floor. I will try to accept you. I’m sorry,” said Lumi with a coquettish tone.

The last part of the sentence—her apology—was sincere.

Ryan had been living in the Mears family for many years and later married Lumi. But Lumi was never friendly to him, nor did she regard Ryan as a family member. She never allowed Ryan to have any intimate moment with her, which she now realized was unfair to him.

Today in the bar, in the mall, Ryan had been so protective of her. He had even gotten help from his classmate to inject capital into her company. All these had pulled at her heartstrings. So she wanted to try to accept Ryan.

Letting Ryan go upstairs and share a room with her was the first step.

He took a shower, went upstairs, and slept.

It was her grandma’s birthday. She was set to get ridiculed by her family elders if she was late.

When the two arrived at the grandma’s house, Raymond, her second and third uncles, as well as other elders, were already there.

When Raymond saw Lumi and Ryan walking in, he spoke in a strange tone of voice. “Oh, isn’t this President Mears? Grandma, I heard that our President Mears bought you a pair of eight-hundred-thousand-dollar earrings yesterday. Lumi, why don’t you show us now?”

But Lumi ignored Raymond as she came in front of her grandma. “Grandma, happy birthday! I wish you good health and happiness to always stay with you.”

Grandma sitting in a chair, hissed. “Hmph! Lumi, Raymond told me you bought me a pair of emerald earrings. Could you show them to me? I happen to need a pair of earrings.”
