Chapter 16 - Frozen Palace [3]

Although Xuelian had managed to let out a small chuckle, she was extremely anxious on the inside. She had nearly died!

But she refrained from cursing aloud, however, her heart was in pain as she had lost her best weapon. "Hey, I better be getting some compensation afterwards!"

Not willing to suffer a loss, Xuelian wanted another weapon, hopefully one that was even better!

"No problem, let's go!"

Now that Lord Grim was covering for her, despite having losing her weapon, it was significantly easier to survive as they even had the opportunity to chat while playing. And without facing anymore problems, the duo had managed to lead both the Ice Empress and Yeti back to the start of the dungeon where the remaining three players of the party were, much to their shock.

"Holy sh*t! You guys are crazy!" Seeing the two bosses that were chasing behind Snow Lotus and Lord Grim, Boundless Willow couldn't help but curse aloud as he stood still, stunned.

However, seeing that Snow Lotus was still running towards them, the trio took a few seconds to process what was happening before running in fear.

"F*CK! What are you doing, why are you chasing me? Quick, turn around!" Casting Winds was the first to run upon seeing the boss.

"Shit! What do you mean turn around, keep chasing him!" Because Casting Winds had ran away, Boundless Willow was the second to react, however he was still slower, thus he ran in the opposite direction, and upon hearing the words come out of Casting Wind, he immediately started panicking more.

What did he mean, turn around?! That was where he was!!

"Would you guys relax? Leave the first boss to me, quickly go kill the second boss!" Watching the show placed in front of her, Xuelian didn't know whether to laugh or cry as she immediately handed out instructions.

Although the three were shameless and cowardly, they were surprisingly skilled and dutiful. Immediately hearing the words from Snow Lotus, the trio immediately regrouped before launching a barrage of attacks onto the Ice Empress.

Although she no longer had her weapon which prevented Xuelian from using certain skills, because she had yet to job change, she had placed a couple of skill points into skills from other classes that didn't require a weapon to use.

Cloud Body!

Xuelian was silently praising herself for being so well-prepared. Thankfully before she had entered the dungeon, she had placed a skill point into Cloud Body for desperate measure, this skill had already saved her multiple times while running away from the boss earlier!

Cloud Body was a skill that allowed the user to move faster for a limited amount of time.

Even though the ability was only Level 1, having a speed boost was better than nothing.

"ROOOAR!" It had already been more than 3 minutes since Xuelian was on the run, and the boss was only becoming more relentless. Because of Glory's realistic functions and systems, if the boss didn't deal damage after a while, the boss' stats would gradually increase.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Pounding his club onto the ice floor, Xuelian continued to dodge with ease due to Yeti's slow attack speed, but she could tell that it was becoming faster.

"How much longer?!" Xuelian asked Ye Xiu as she dodged another attack from Yeti.

"30 seconds.. 30 seconds…" Muttering the time inside her head countless times, Xuelian continued to systematically weave around the boss, sometimes even sliding between his legs, and running behind him.

However, who knew that 30 seconds would take so long?! It felt as if it had been an eternity. "Hey, is 30 seconds up yet?! I don't know if I can hold him any longer!"

"Almost everyone speed it up, when the boss hits 1% HP, everyone back off and let the attack clear everything up!" Ye Xiu wasn't worried as he knew the dungeon would be cleared, but he still speeded up because he didn't wish for Snow Lotus to fall and lose a level.

"Okay!" Out of the three players from Holy Heaven, only Great Insight was able to speak, as they were all incredibly focused… in fact, seeing that the Ice Empress' health bar was about to drop down to 1%, the three were trying extremely hard to control their excitement, they still couldn't make a mistake! Afterall, they may even be one shorted by the Empress' last stand.

"REEEEEEE..." Upon dropping down to 1% health, the Ice Empress let out a shrill screech before spewing out hundreds of potions that dealt damage as well as cause debuffs.

"Everyone back off! Lotus!" Ye Xiu gave out orders as he had Lord Grim open up his Myriad Manifestation Umbrella as a shield.

Yet even before Ye Xiu had given out the order, the trio had already fled causing Ye Xiu to be speechless.

They were even more shameless than me!

"Coming!" Knowing that she had survived thus far all for this moment, Xuelian was filled with nothing but excitement, as she instantly swerved to the left and bolted towards Ice Empress who was still making her last stand.

While Xuelian was stalling out the Yeti, she was suddenly enlightened as she figured out the plan Ye Xiu was going to do, thus she didn't need further instructions of Ye Xiu.

In fact, she had been silently keeping track of the Ice Empress' health and already moved before Ye Xiu spoke, she was already one step ahead!

Although Glory was an extremely hard game to master, the game still had to be fair towards newer players. Because bosses were typically meant to be killed by a party and a single mistake could cause the entire dungeon, Glory had implemented a non-friendly-fire system on the boss and mobs, meaning that the potions that were currently being spewed out by the Impress would also damage the Kobolds!

Such a system only meant that the Yeti would also be affected!

Not to mention, with the amount of potions that were being thrown out, there would be tons of debuffs added onto the Yeti, allowing them to clear the dungeon at an even faster pace!

But the only problem was whether or not she herself would be able to survive, and although she was a pro player, the chances were close to none.

However, she was more than happy to be able to set a record, dropping a level or two would only cause her to waste another hour to grind back up.

Cling, Cling, Cling

Countless glass flasks shattered on the ground causing beautiful particles to fly into the air, and this time, reality didn't turn the other way.

Her avatar dropped to the ground as her image on the party list turned gray, signalling that she had died and respawned outside of the dungeon.

"Sorry." Even though she was separated from everyone in her party, Xuelian was still able to talk to Ye Xiu as she sat next to him.

Ye Xiu apologized, he had underestimated the dungeon, and as a leader, he took the blame.

Hearing his words, Xuelian smiled as she knew she couldn't let the opportunity go to waste.

"Aww, I spent so long to grind for levels too! And I lost my weapon!" Xuelian spoke out as if she was about to cry. However, inwardly, Xuelian was desperately holding back laughter, afraid her cover would be blown.

Because he had slaughtered the Ice Empress', the remaining four players were slaughtering the Yeti, and Ye Xiu didn't have the chance to look towards Xuelian, but hearing the sad tone she was speaking in, for some odd reason, Ye Xiu truly felt guilty as he had asked her out to dungeon, which caused her death, and even made her drop her weapon in the process.

"I'll get you a better weapon, I'm sorry." Ye Xiu apologized again, and for once, he didn't know how to console someone.

Seeing that Ye Xiu truly felt guilty, Xuelian could no longer hold back her laughter as she bursted out. "Hahaha, if you feel guilty them come eat dinner with me! My friend ditched me for someone else and I'm gonna be bored afterwards!"

"Achoo!" Zhifei sneezed as she scratched her head. "Weird, did I catch a cold?"

...

"Alright, alright, let's go after I finish looting." As soon as Ye Xiu finished his sentence, a series of announcements sounded into the ears of all the players.

"[Congratulations to the party of 5, Lord Grim, Snow Lotus, Casting Winds, Boundless Willow and Great Insight for obtaining the first clear to the dungeon Frozen Palace]"

"[Congratulations to the party of 5… for obtaining the first kill on the Crystalline Yeti of the Frozen Palace]"

"[Congratulations to Holy Heaven's players: Lord Grim, Snow Lotus… for breaking the Frozen Palace clear record. 15:36:28]"

"W-we… We did it!!" Boundless Willows was the first to yell out upon seeing their guild name resound through Glory.

"We actually cleared it? Just like this?" Although he had been apart of the clearing process during the entire time, Casting Winds was still dazed.

Just like that? That easy?

However, if Ye Xiu were to hear the thoughts Casting Winds had, he would immediately hit him on the back of his head.

Not wanting to waste anymore time, Ye Xiu went directly over to the corpses of the two bosses.

The Loot!

Although Ye Xiu was excited, he silently hoped for a good sword to cover for Xuelian's losses.

Based on the deal that was made earlier, Ye Xiu would be receiving 100% of the loot.

Although the players from Holy Heaven agreed, they still couldn't help but feel envious, afterall, obtaining the first clear and setting the record meant that there would be a higher chance for higher tier equipment.

But envy was envy, the trio were still grateful for Ye Xiu as they egged him on to go over the loot.

Even Xuelian peered over in curiosity as she wondered if there was going to be a sword for her to use.

Watching the antics of the four people, Ye Xiu laughed as he picked over the equipment and sent the stats over to the party chat to show everyone.

And upon seeing the numbers, color and stats come out, their eyes were practically popping out!

"T-t-this, what is this luck?!" Boundless Willow even scratched his eyes a couple times, afraid his pair of eyes were playing tricks on him.

Xuelian even let out a small cry. "Ah! Orange tier Rapier!"

Seeing the expression on Xuelian, Ye Xiu was genuinely happy. Because he had picked it up first, he was the first to be surprised, but he had managed to keep his emotions under control, thus showing the stats to Xuelian as a surprise.

The stats… were a little too strong for such an early game right? Such a weapon could possibly last until level 30!!

Although Xuelian couldn't equip the rapier yet because she was level 14, she would soon be able to.

In fact, Xuelian wanted to go grind immediately!
