41 A Day’s Vacation

The next morning, Jayde and Reiko woke up early. After cooking for both of them, as Reiko now refused to eat raw meat, they packed up and set off briskly for the lake.

With Reiko by her side, the spirit beasts avoided the two of them, so they didn't take long to reach the lake.

Coming upon the lake, it was a beautiful sight to see, under the blue sky, the lake teemed with life. The chorus of birdsong and the humming of insects from the surrounding trees added a sense of serenity the gorgeous scene in front of Jayde.

Sending out her magical senses, Jayde could sense nothing dangerous in the lake. Taking out her towel and soap, Jayde stripped — she wasn't shy, and besides she had nothing to show, while her body had undergone major changes in the past months, Jayde's malnourished body has been replaced by a healthy looking one, but she was still underdeveloped and her chest was as flat as a pancake.

Walking to the edge of the lake, Jayde dipped her toe in to feel the temperature of the water, it was refreshing cool, walking deeper into the pool of water, Jayde slid down into the water, letting it block out the sounds around her.

Jayde had always loved water, she could swim forever. There was something so peaceful and calming about being underwater. The water in the lake was very clear, and schools of bright-hued fish swam merrily around Jayde, strange water flowers and plants decorate the sandy floor adding to the beauty around her.

Lazily swimming around, she noticed Reiko watching her from the water's edge, she called him over to join her. While a bit nervous, Reiko joined Jayde. Laughing the two of splashed and played in the water for a while.

Tired the two of them swam back to the shore, Jayde fetched her soap, then scrubbed herself from head to toe until her white skin was pink, she climbed back into the water and she rinsed herself off.

After rinsing off the soap, she then took her soap and scrubbed Reiko clean, while on one hand, Reiko loved the attention from Jayde, he was disgusted by the smell of the soap.

[Stinky]

Laughing Jayde smelled her soap, well it did smell of lavender, which was a bit girly, so she could understand why Reiko wasn't too happy with it.

"Later I will make you your own soap okay" she consoled the poor shadowbeast, who had his nose scrunched up in disgust.

[hmmm, okay]

After Reiko washed off the soap, he jumped out of the water, the two of them then dried themselves off, then lying down on one of the large rocks near the edge of the lake, they rested for a while, while the rays of the sun warmed them up.

Turning to Jayde Reiko wailed plaintively [I'm hungry]

Sitting up and grinning Jayde looked over at Reiko

"So what do you want to eat?"

[Barbecue!]

Laughing, Jayde did not know why she had bothered to ask, her little pet had turned into a foodie overnight.

"Let's catch some fish, and have some grilled fish, okay?"

Watching Jayde, as she pulled out her handmade fishing rod, Reiko was really curious about this catching fish activity.

After watching Jayde catch a couple of fish, Reiko wanted to try, but these fish were very fast, and no matter how much he chased them, they quickly swam away. Highly disgusted with these fish, Reiko swam ashore, climbing out of the water, he shook his fur, spraying water all over Jayde.

"Reiko!"

Looking over he saw a drenched Jayde wiping water off her face, oops!

[Sorry]

Picking up her towel hanging on a branch, Jayde dried herself off, then she made a campfire, and once the fire was ready, she gutted and cleaned the fish, adding spices she placed the fish over the fire.

Once the fish was done, she and Reiko ate.

Deciding to spend a couple of days at the lake, Jayde set-up camp, but her plans to have a small vacation with Reiko at the lake was interrupted by Isha.
