Chapter 11 - Foodie Exposed

"Are you listening?" Yan Shu was pulled back to her senses by Xin Bai who was speaking non-stop since she came to sit beside her.

" Sorry.. " Yan Shu was still in a daze and looked at her apologetically.

Xin Bai sighed and then continued, " Since you just came to school three days ago you might not know this. Our school anniversary is at the end of this month and every year on that day, the student council arranges a gigantic event for celebration. A group of selected students from every class are send to perform on the event. The reharsals has already begun since the starting week of this month. Our class is performing a dance performance. But one of the selected student got injured while practicing, so we are in need of a replacement."

" Just choose another person who knows how to dance then." Yan Shu was still pondering about yesterday. The school matters don't even hold a candle to her problems. She just found Xin Bai silly for she was wasting her time on her instead of finding a new participant. Hence, she did not react much.

Xin Bai was expecting Yan Shu to plead to her to take her as the replacement after hearing her but unbeknownst to her the latter did not even react much instead looked at her like she was staring at a fool.

" I was wondering if you know how to dance...." Xin Bai wanted to give her another chance to catch her phrase. Hence she was indirectly hinting her. After all, The new girl Mo Ran has been nominated as the school belle on her very first day at school and even won against the third year student Zeng Chi who had been the school belle since the start of high school. Although some were still debating on Mo Ran's succession since she didn't have any achievements yet and only has the rumor of being a genius. If their second year class-A can make Mo Ran perform , they will gain alot of attention and also might have the chance to win as the best class this year with their votes.

Yan Shu finally understood where Xin Bai was heading to, "Xin Bai, I have never danced for once in my life. I am afraid I can not replace the injured performer's place." She turned at Xin Bai and said putting on a serious look.

Yan Shu did think of enjoying school life when she was offered to get admitted in school. But as she observed for the past three days, it was not much of fun. She did not have anything in common to talk with others. The given study materials and the classes were too easy for her as she had already studied them long ago and was also the top scorer in her class back then. This quality of hers has also helped her memorizing and understanding all the scripts of the movies she acted in quickly in the past. Moreover,she also realized that the school students were a little too much gossipy. Like yesterday, a girl proposed to a boy on whom she had a crushed on,near the boy's washroom where none was present. But unfortunately someone saw the scene when he was passing by and took a video of it. Then posted it on the school forum. The girl felt humiliated and transferred from the school just this morning. Hence, Yan Shu decided to stay away from all of this so that she can make it out peacefully. Afterall, she was fed up with all these stressing attention.

" But it's a great...." Xin Bai wanted to convince her but Yan Shu interrupted, " There's no buts. I just want to focus on my studies. And I will only bring shame to the class if I join."

Disappointed Xin Bai did not insist anymore,"Find me if you change your mind anytime."

[XinBai : She did not agree.]

[Zeng Chi : Surprising.]

[XinBai : Doesn't know how to dance.]

[ZengChi : Afraid of getting exposed!]

[Qiuqiu : Waiting for the next weekly test. Have patience.]

The school ended. All the students swirmed out of their classroom. Yan Shu waited for everyone to leave before walking out of the classroom. She was walking past the halls when someone suddenly ran over to her from behind as she felt a weight over her shoulder.

" Hey, I heard you rejected Xin Bai's offer." Sheng Chen put over her left arm over Yan Shu's shoulder and looked at her mischievously.

" I can't dance." Since the first day, Sheng Chen was the only one whom Yan Shu felt genuine. She was not a sweet talker but more like a tomboyish girl. If it weren't for the school requiring all the girls to wear skirts she might have come to school wearing a baggy pant and metal band t-shirt. She was not much of a studious kind but a kind soul.

" Good. You should stay away from them. They pretend to be what they are actually not. They are just a bunch of pretentious Minions of Qiuqiu."

Yan Shu gave her a smile and nodded. She did not need her to tell that. She was an actress herself. It was obvious that she saw through them since the first day. The two walked past the school gate as Yan Shu got into her car while Sheng Chen went to the car waiting for her.

Yan Shu asked Ling Mo to drop her in Jingsheng Compound and not to wait for her to pick her up. She texted old master Su saying she was going to one of her classmate's place for a study session and also to collect the notes that she has missed from the past months.

After dropping her, Ling Mo left. Yan Shu walked towards her door while glancing at her neighbor's house. The car was not there today. So the owner wasn't at home too. She opened the door of her house and entered before closing the door. Sometimes she felt fortunate for not listening to Lao Yu when he asked her to put on fingerprint lock in her door. Yan Shu always found the fingerprint locks troublesome so she did not change the passcode lock. She wondered what would've happened if she had taken his suggestion!!!

She put down her backpack on the sofa before changing out of the school uniform to her home clothes and cleaning her home. She hasn't come here since the last time. In the past, Lao Yu used to come and clean her place when she was away but now.... sigh.

When she was done with the cleanings, she took a shower and changed into fresh clothes and ordered for a food delivery. Now that she did not need to maintain her shape she ordered for Meat Wonton soup, Stir fried tofu with rice, Sweet and sour pork, Kung pao chicken.

The food prepared in Su house was so called nutritious. As she just suffered from an accident they have been giving her bland foods. Most were just porridge and green veggies often. And it was supposed to continue for one month.

How can a lost soul survive the food torture...sobsob.

She was determined to finish everything she ordered today.

[Author is now feeling hungry tooo...]

While she waited for the delivery she went to her study to sort things out. She has been thinking where to start the investigation. The Su's connection was so wide that it would be hard for her to investigate the matter behind the scenes.

She opened her laptop and started to type something. Her laptop was super slim and it was also usable as a tab. The laptop had no logo but when you open the screen a small logo of an Iris flower can be seen in the upper right corner. If anyone was here alongside Yan Shu they might have recognized this laptop of Dark Magus.

Dark Magus was an unknown wonder of Country A technology world. It was rumored that because of him the country's technology system improved alot ranking top among the Asian countries in technology. His gender, age, whole identity was unknown. He appears rarely but he can be found most of the time in a hacker's public forum provided from the dark web. He has developed many devices over these years but he either donated them to the government or sell them through the forum in a sky-high price but only a few. So it was almost impossible for Yan Shu to have it unless....

Well no one is here except Yan Shu.....
