Chapter 170: principal's grandduaghter

-Whoosh.

The principal appeared before Camron.

"You've been quite busy." The principal smiled as he commented on Camron's blue uniform.

"Not as busy as you, sir." Camron joked.

"Hahaha." The principal laughed. "Let's get down to business, tell me the new things that you have experienced since you awakened your darkness elemental ability? The principal inquired.

"Well, since I awakened this element in me, in the night time I feel myself get 3 times stronger than usual. A similar thing occurs when I'm in the shadow of something or another person.

When we were facing a predicament during our mission in the capital city Cerevaux. We were being attacked with arrows that poured down from the sky and they packed a lot of punch with them. I realized that I was able to move some of the arrows that were heading for me, with their shadows.

Although I don't know how exactly I achieved that feat, I could tell that I moved them with their shadow." Camron explained.

The principal's smile got wider. "Is that all?" He asked.

"There's another thing that I still don't know how it happened or what it was. There was a time that I placed my hand on Alex's shoulder and it was like I extracted energy from his pain.

Pain that he hides deep in his heart. His pain was so much that the energy I got from just placing my hand on his shoulder for a few seconds was too much for me.

I don't know what happened to him that made him experience such deep pain, but deep down, Alex is scarred to the core." Camron pitied Alex after finding out about the pain that he had hidden in him.

"You can do that already at the early stages?" The principal was stunned. He wasn't paying attention to what Camron was saying about Alex's pain.

"Huh?" Camron blurted out.

"There are many things that darkness elemental users can do, many, many things. On the standard list of recognized elements, the darkness element is dubbed as the strongest of the elements… the potential that it has is almost limitless. With how rare darkness elemental users are, they are treasured by many."

"How limitless does this element make me?" Camron inquired.

"Keep on getting stronger and find out on your own." The principal intends to use Camron's curiosity to boost his will to get stronger. He began running his hand through his long beards. "You have the talent, but your drive is still lacking." The principal added.

"You said that this element is the strongest on the list of recognized elements, what about the ones that are not on the list? How strong is the darkness element compared to those that are off the list ?"

"Those ones that are off the list are rarer and harder to find than darkness elemental users. The users of those elements are overpowered most of the time, avoid them if you come across one."

"But let me warn about something. This element might be the strongest amongst the recognized elements, it is also the most dangerous because it can change the personality and nature of the users. be careful not to let your element possess you." He warned...

"I heard from my granddaughter that your team's cultivation has been on the rise in a short time, more than any other team in the school. And all of that is thanks to Alexander, is that so?" The principal asked.

"Yeah, it is." Camron held himself from smiling, "He's been nicknamed the 'seeker' because of his unique ability to find treasures and things like miracle fruits…" Camron responded.

"…wait, you have a granddaughter that has been spying on us?" Camron suspected.

"Hahahaha, no I don't. Even if I wanted her to do that, I don't think that she will, and also, she doesn't have the time to do that because I forcefully made her the receptionist in the guest inn." The principal revealed proudly.

"Xiao En!?" Camron exclaimed with a stunned expression.

"Yes, Xiao En. She's my granddaughter." The principal admitted.

"No wonder she acts the way she wants to and not give a damn about the repercussion. I also wondered how she had been able to keep her job all this while, who would have thought that her grandfather is the founder of the academy.

"Hahaha, she's a very stubborn girl, and young also. Xiao En is a genius cultivator, if only she wasn't lazy and troublesome, she might have already made a name for herself, by herself in the cultivation world." The principal sighed.

"I was going to send her to the central continent but she stubbornly refused to do as I requested." He added.

"What about her parents?" Camron poked to satisfy the little fire of curiosity that lit in him.

"Her parents left her with me." The principal sighed once again.

"They are dead?" Camron said immediately after hearing the principal's reply.

"No, they are not. Unlike their daughter, my son and his wife are cultivation maniacs." The principal cleared.

"Oh, your reaction after saying that they left her with you made me think that they were… gone. Why did they leave her with you?"

"Because they stay in the celestial plain realm. My son cultivated till he elevated to the celestial plain realm and he met Xiao En's mother there. After giving birth and raising Xiao En for most of her teenage years, he brought her down to the lower plain realm and passed her on to me.

He says that he wants her to work hard and come up to the celestial plain realm on her own.

Xiao En, a daddy's girl, was against this but her father wouldn't listen. At first, she started cultivating diligently, but after a few years went by and her parents didn't visit once, she got angry and said that she wasn't going to do as her father wanted.

When he misses her, he'll come here on his own. That what she said." The principal explained. "Enough about my family." He dismissed the topic.

"Now that you are a disaster realm cultivator, all I need to do is to help you get to the nirvana realm. Once you have reached that realm, I can reserve a spot for you in the continental competition."

"Can you also reserve a spot for Alex?" Camron requested.

"I might be able to, but that is not for us to delve into. When it comes to matters that involve Alexander, I do not have a say in it. His master is a touchy one and doesn't like it when others poke their noses into her business…"

"… here, have this." The principal handed a jade slate to Camron. This jade slate was a tier 3 martial skill. "This martial skill will be a huge help to you in understanding your darkness elemental ability." The principal added.

Camron's face was filled with excitement after hearing what the principal said. Martial skill is what he had been looking for, for a long while. Even before he entered the academy, he used his father's wealth to search for martial skills but found none.

He gladly collected it from the principal. "Thank you, sir." He expressed his gratitude by bowing.

"It's my pleasure. When practicing the martial skill, you can take the remaining dark pills that I gave to you."

"I will," Camron mentioned before he left the principal's office…

************************

It took Alex a while to finish digesting the energy from the miracle fruit.

"Finally," He breathed out in relief.

Alex closed his eyes and inspected his core.

After inspecting his core he sighed again.

"Should I be sad or just happy with the results?" He thought out loud.

['How far did you go?'] Al asked.

"Well, I made it to the disaster realm.'] Alex answered.

['That's a good thing, I was scared for a mome-']

"The 1st rank of the disaster realm." Alex interrupted him.

Al kept quiet and let what Alex said register properly in his thoughts. ['Bullsh*t!!'] He exclaimed in anger.

"Bullsh*t indeed."

['The stronger we get, the harder it becomes for us to get stronger.'] Xander commented.

['True, at least we made it to the disaster realm. Wouldn't it have been a bit embarrassing if we didn't move from the 9th rank of the nascent realm? I suppose that we should be happy with this result.'] Lex comforted.

['Perhaps this is what the Dragnel brothers meant when they said that the universe is going to be against us. The frequent bad luck that we have had and this issue with leveling up.'] Xander added.

['Nah, it might be one of it but I don't think we hit the main thing yet. The way the spoke about it made it scary. We've been unlucky, yeah, but I don't think this is the scary thing that they were talking about.'] Al argued.

"Can we please not speak about that? You guys are giving me unpleasant Goosebumps with all this universe talk." Alex interrupted them and stood up. He had been sitting on the floor.

Alex exited his room and went to the living room. He saw his teammates laying on the floor with deadpan expressions on their faces.

"What are you guys doing?" He asked.

"Ahhh," Drake answered lazily.

"What?" Alex was confused.

Right at that moment, Camron stepped into the suite with a huge grin plastered on his face. He arrived in the living and saw the positions that the majority of his teammates were.

"What's with them?" Camron asked.

"I don't know, I don't smell any alcohol so I don't think that they are intoxicated," Alex observed.

"We only realized how f*cked we are, a few hours ago." Adrian finally gave Alex an answer.

"I only joined them because it looked fun." Emma interjected...
