Chapter 125: back to the avanti manor

The commotion that took place in the mansion attracted the attention of many, even the officials. Xander's ability made many people feel uneasy.

Even Neji was about to head there but a person's voice stopped him before he could reach there. "Don't go there." He heard the person say.

"But there's a forest on fire there, shouldn't I at least go and put it out before it gets worse?" Neji said. He hated the feeling of being oppressed but there was nothing that he could do in his situation. This person is way above his capabilities.

"I will take care of that." The person said.

"Oh, okay." He gave a bow in a random direction, just like the first time he couldn't see the person that was speaking.

"Sir, who was that?" One of his subordinates asked.

"I don't know who the person is but we better listen to that person's orders. We'll watch from here, inform the rest not to approach that place, even the officials working for the government. If they don't want to die without a trace they should listen to us." Neji stated.

From the distance, Neji and his subordinates could see a new abnormality in the forest. An unnatural breeze blew and the fire that was burning in the forest started to freeze.

"S-sir. Is this that person's doing?" One of them asked in reverence for the person that stopped them from going over to the scene.

"I think so." Neji made shaky breaths. "To be able to make the atmosphere so cold that even the flames weren't put out, but frozen. What sort of being is this? Just how strong is this person?" Neji was relieved and thankful that he didn't go against the person's wishes in the first place. Such strength, even he doesn't believe that he can achieve such a feat in this lifetime.

The fire in the forest had frozen and half of the forest had turned into an ice forest…

Whilst following the coded tracks that the rest of the teams left on their way out, Alex brought out a blue HD-EC and began absorbing energy from it. The energy crystal was firm enough to resist the heat from Alex's flames. He finished with that energy crystal in no time and then he brought out another crystal, the same quality as the one that he had just finished with.

Sravya took a glance at him and was surprised for the 4th time today. 'How is he absorbing QI that fast?' She wondered.

Even with the support, he was getting from the fire bloodline, Alex felt like he wasn't going to last long without QI.

['Damn it, Xander, that AOE attack should only be used as a last resort from now on. I feel like I've been moving around without being able to breathe.'] Alex declared.

['I agree, that was draining.'] Xander concurred.

The coded tracks that they followed led them into the central district of the capital city and soon they arrived in front of a gate that looked familiar to Alex. He deactivated his bloodline ability.

"Isn't this the gates of the Avanti manor?" He thought out loud.

"Welcome back, Alex." The gates open for them. Not far from the gates was the face of a familiar maid, Beatrice. The maid that served Alex the first time that he was here.

['Was it Camron that brought them here? Isn't it dumb to bring these people here!? What if the people that are after the clients choose to raid this place too?'] Alex reasoned.

['It wouldn't be easy for them to do that. Have you forgotten that his family has a lot of cultivators as butlers and maids? Their security isn't weak, besides I doubt if this place would be raided. After doing some brainstorming and connecting some dots, I have come up with possible, feasible answers. But first, regroup with the rest, I want to confirm some things before I make conclusions. '] Al pointed out.

['Okay.']

"Beatrice, it's been a while. How are you doing?" Alex acknowledged her presence.

"I'm alright, I am pleased and surprised to see that you still remember my name." She grinned at him.

"Hahaha." Alex gave a short laugh. "What of Camron?" He asked.

"The young master asked me to lead to where the rest are, he has gone to his father's study to… greet him," Beatrice explained.

['I doubt if he's there to greet his father. Even I wouldn't allow my son to bring this type of trouble back home. You can't dump your problems on me.'] Alex thought.

['And that's why you are still a virgin and not a father.'] Al commented.

['F*ck you, Al.']

['Easy, wank yourself. Hehehehe.'] Al laughed at his own joke and Alex hissed at it.

"Is there anything that is making you feel uneasy, Alex?" Beatrice asked when she heard him hiss.

"No, I was just thinking of something that is, difficult to handle."

"Okay, please follow me. I'll take you to where they are now." Beatrice turned and led the way. Sravya and Alex followed behind her.

['Good to know that I'm difficult.'] Al said smugly.

Alex ignored Al and focused on absorbing the energy stone in his hand…

"You mean to tell me that the storm of lightning that disturbed the peace of half of the capital city was made by Alexander?" Camron's father, Lawrence asked his son.

"Yes, father. Those rose gold lightning was made by Alex."

"Amazing, what cultivation level is he at now?"

"He's at the third-rank of the nascent realm now."

"So fast?" Reginald, the head butler of the Avanti manor exclaimed.

"Yes," Camron said proudly.

Since he met Alex, he felt like he had met an important piece of his life. Camron couldn't explain it but he felt connected to Alex for some reason he didn't understand himself.

"The difference between royalty and average people. Such speed in cultivation, if he didn't focus on learning alchemy and rune inscription he might have reached a realm that we can only dream of attaining." Reginald spoke his mind.

"Camron have you spoken to him, about granting you his bloodline?" Lawrence asked.

"No, father. I don't plan on doing that, he is my friend and I don't want him to think that I befriended him because I want his blood."

"Hmm, okay. It is your choice after all. How long are they going to stay here?"

"Till the mission ends, I guess. That's in 3 days."

"Reginald, tighten the security of the manor. Do not let any unwanted persons slip in."

"As you wish, Master." Reginald placed his hand on his chest, bowed, and disappeared from the study

"Father, I'm sorry for bringing them over, but when I thought of a safe place home was the first place that came to me."

"Don't worry about it, go back to your friends. They should join us for lunch, your mother has missed you."

"Thank you, father." Camron bowed and left the study…

*************

The clients and the rest were seated on the chairs available on the front porch.

"Sravya!" The students of the righteous school called out when they saw their captain. They were concerned about her condition. As fellow students of rune mastery, they knew how strenuous it was to do what she did.

"I'm okay. Just need to rest and regain a bit of my vitality." She answered.

They looked at Alex and the whole place went silent. More than half of the city was disturbed by the phenomenon that Xander caused. They still found it hard to believe that someone of the nascent realm could do something like that.

Now they knew they were on different levels, they couldn't compare with Alex. If he was strong as they were what sort of things would he be able to do.

At this moment, Tammy was regretting what she said about him not being enough for her. Neko was still filled with jealousy, but he couldn't help but revere Alex a bit.

His team members looked and smiled at him with pride. They felt like they were lucky to be in the same team as Alex.

"I'm also fine." He looked at his teammates and said.

"Hahaha," They laughed at his pettiness.

"We knew that you were fine, that's why we didn't bother to ask," Drake smirked at him.

"Liar," Alex whispered and scoffed at them.

"Alex, you are here." He heard Camron's voice from behind. Alex turned and stared at him, he arched one of his eyebrows.

As if Camron knew what he meant by that, he replied; "I know that it's risky but this is the only place that we can trust. My father has permitted us to stay here until the mission has ended."

"Well, so be it then." He raised his hands and accepted it.

"Camron, I would like to meet your father and express my gratitude. Allowing us to stay here, even with the danger that comes with it. If I don't at least thank him, then I wouldn't be at peace with myself." Jayda said.

"You will be able to meet him when it's time for lunch, he has invited everyone to dine with him. For now, we have to get a room for everyone to stay."

"I will be heading to the room that I stayed in last time. I need to cultivate and regain the strength that I lost." Alex left them and made his way to his room…

Around Camron, Alex felt a natural familiarity. He knew that they were raised differently, yet he still felt some kind of connection with Camron. Just like Camron had a feeling that Alex was an important piece to him, Alex felt the same. Hence, that created and deepened their friendship as time passed…
