Chapter 14:13.

Name:The Mating Game Author:Khlionie93
Something in the back of my mind reminded me that I couldn't though. I couldn't give up. I couldn't stay here. There was something more, something worth leaving the darkness for. Something that I had to get back to, no matter how I got there, I had to leave, I had to get out of this place. I had something waiting for me, something that made my life complete, something I couldn't leave behind.

I made up my mind then, that I would leave this place. I would come to, and leave the Black Sea behind me forever.

Light began flittering in the darkness then, breaking it up and casting shadows around the room. A great golden wolf emerged then, staring down at me in what looked like annoyance. I wanted to laugh at the wolf, to embrace her, to cry against her shimmering fur, but something told me we had no time for that, so instead I stared back at my own wolf in awe. She was beautiful, this part of me I had never gotten to see first hand.

'Finally you're coherent.' she sighed into my mind and I tilted my head to the side in shock. My wolf was speaking to me. Something that had never happened before. Usually I felt her annoyance, her moods, but never had I heard her musical voice. It was breathtaking, everything I had ever dreamed it would be.

'Pick your jaw up, we don't have time for this. We need to get going if we want to get back to our mate.' she shot, nudging me up with her giant head.

"What happened?" I asked as I rubbed my sore temples, getting to my feet wobbly as she used her head to steady me and keep me from falling back down.

'The vampire ingested mercury. We've been poisoned. Were in transition. It can go either way from here. We either recover and get back to our body, or we die.' She stated grimly.

"How do we get back then?" I whispered.

'We have to make our way through transition alive, to prove to the goddess we are worthy of going back to earth.' She shot back.

"Colton.." I breathed, suddenly remembering why I'd taken on the vampire in the first place. I did it to protect Colton. His bright blue eyes were at the forefront of my mind then, and I remembered the reason I had to leave the Black Sea. Colton was my mate, my life. I had to get back to him no matter what. I couldn't leave him, I hadn't had enough time, we hadn't had enough time. He had waited years for me, he didn't deserve to have me taken away so soon. It would hurt him, he would resent the goddess, his sunny disposition would turn cold, his rational way of thinking would become scattered, he wouldn't be the amazing alpha that he is now. Losing me would ruin him, I knew it deep within me, and I knew that I would do absolutely everything in my power to make sure that he never did, that he never had to live in a world without me.

'We have to get back to them India.' My wolf said sadly and I realized she wasn't the only one missing her mate. She was missing Colton's wolf as much as I was missing him.
