Chapter 110

Hizen returned to the cabin with Leasis, who was tired after crying. He laid her on the hard bed and shut the windows and the door tightly.

Her face lit by the moonlight was smudged with tears. Hizen stroked her cheek, sighing low.

His greed rose and stabbed him in the chest. As Leasis had said, the thought of wanting to forget everything and be together shook him without mercy.

‘Such a pathetic guy…’

Hizen turned around, cursing himself inside. He could no longer intervene in Leasis’ life. She had to enjoy all the things she had lost.

As he left the cabin quietly, a cold wind brushed his body. Stars were shining over the quiet village.

Hizen’s body trembled as he slowly took a breath. The tip of his cold nose noticed a rotten smell.

The smell of a supreme monster. Hizen’s expression hardened in an instant. He ran straight to the back of the cabin and grabbed two wooden swords. Every time he moved, a terrible pain wrapped around his leg, but he could not stop.

After that, he arrived at the source of the rotten smell. Hizen focused his strength on his hands, looking at the shabby cabin that was half collapsed.

The light from his intangible sword was weak, perhaps because his power had not yet returned completely. Hizen bit his lips and raised his head.

There was something shiny on the roof that looked like a light. When he looked closely, it was a fairy with a small black gem on its forehead.

The fairy hovered around the cabin at a rapid pace. Black smoke and an unbearable stench were flowing from its transparent wings.

Was it a crazy fairy? Hizen’s expression became serious. A fairy itself was rare, and a crazy fairy was a magical being that could not easily be found.

In addition, it was difficult to deal with. This was because crazy fairies could absorb more power the stronger their opponent was.

The fairy sat on the roof of the cabin, provoking Hizen. Then, it moved its hands lightly as if it were conducting, and made the village floor shake.

Bang!

Hizen’s wooden sword made an explosive noise when it got wrapped in white energy. He spoke in a cold, frozen voice.

“Don’t make a fuss.”

He did not want to wake Leasis, who was so tired from crying, because of this monster. Hizen stared at the fairy with dark sunken eyes.

It was not impossible for him to attack just because his body did not completely move at his will.

Bang!

Hizen’s sword shot out toward the fairy. It lightly avoided the blow, whistled and flew behind him.

To block it, Hizen moved his right hand and raised the wooden sword. The fairy’s wings were struck by the sword and it struggled on the floor.

Then, a child with brown curly hair came near the cabin. He had been surprised by the earthquake and the light.

“Go back!”

Despite Hizen’s cry, the child blinked blankly. Sleepy, it was hard for him to tell whether it was a dream or reality.

What’s this sound? Leasis jumped out of bed. The explosive sound that woke her up in the still night was familiar.

She hurriedly searched the cabin, but Hizen was nowhere to be seen. Maybe something happened to the village. Leasis left the cabin with an ominous feeling.

Then, she saw a clear white glow in the distance. Hizen would not use an intangible sword for no reason, so he must be facing a strong opponent.

Although Hizen had not fully recovered yet, he was wielding a sword. Concern rose in Leasis’ head.

‘Hizen!’

Leasis ran, panting. It was not difficult to cross the small village, but it felt as long as going to the end of the world to her.

He had to be safe. Hizen could no longer endure the pain alone. He had been lonely all his life, carrying his father’s sins on his back and forcibly traveling around the battlefields.

Leasis arrived in front of the old cabin, praying hundreds of times that he would be safe.

The ground in front of the old cabin had holes here and there, with two wooden swords on it. In the middle, Hizen was curled up on the ground.

“Hizen!”

Leasis rushed toward him. Then Hizen relaxed and looked up. There was a little boy with his eyes closed in his arms.

Hizen handed the child to her with a calm face.

“Use healing magic on the child.”

“But your legs…”

“I’m fine.”

He could not be fine. There were already traces of wounds on his thighs and legs, and a sticky pool of blood on the ground. Hizen said in a clear voice, despite having a cold sweat.

“You must have been surprised. Calm down first and start with healing magic.”

“I got it.”

Leasis used healing magic on the child as Hizen ordered. Looking closely, the scared child’s pants were wet.

Leasis healed the child in an instant and knelt down in front of Hizen. She closed her lips looking at his messed up lower body.

His thigh and legs touched by the attacks of the monster were blackened as if they were rotting. It must be painful enough to die, but Hizen only sweated coldly and remained calm.

Fool. Leasis murmured inwardly and put her hand on his bloody thigh. Then Hizen flinched and unknowingly pulled back.

The two looked at each other with astonishment. Hizen came first to his senses and lowered his gaze diagonally.

He spoke in a subdued voice.

“I’ll take care of it myself. You should take a rest now.”

Take care of it yourself? What are you going to do? It’s in such a mess!

Hizen’s stubbornness frustrated Leasis. She pressed Hizen’s thigh where he had been hurt.

“Ugh!”

Hizen unknowingly frowned and cried out in pain. Leasis murmured, clutching his thighs with both hands so that he could not escape.

“What do you think you’re going to do when it’s like this? Just stay still. Don’t show unnecessary pride.”

It was not about pride. Hizen did not want Leasis to be hurt anymore. One day she would get hurt again if she stayed with him. Now he really could not get closer to her.

Leasis read his mind and said nothing. A bright energy came from her long fingertips, and Hizen’s blood stopped flowing out.

The two remained silent during the healing process. Hizen turned his head and lowered his eyes, and Leasis healed the wound silently.

When the treatment was completed to a certain extent, Leasis said sarcastically.

“What a fool. It would have been more efficient to wake me up than to fight recklessly.”

“Why do you still not know how people feel after pretending to be so smart? I’m sure I told you yesterday.”

It was not that he did not know, but that he pretended not to know. But Hizen did not dare to take it out of his mouth.

Even now, he could not help but feel her fluctuating heart, and he did not want to shake her even more. Leasis should not be with him.

At dawn, Max would come to bring her back through the eagle he had sent in advance. Hizen was going to send Leasis back. That way, she would find true peace in her life.

He had not thought about what would happen to him after that. Nothing had meaning unless she was next to him.

Then, Leasis grabbed Hizen’s cheek and turned him toward her. She spoke energetically, facing his shaking blue eyes.

“I love you.”

“I love you, I love you.”

She repeatedly expressed her love in a clear voice as if to imprint it in his mind.

His heart shook greatly. When Hizen opened his eyes wide, Leasis pulled his cheek and kissed him.

Hot tears flowed on Leasis’ cheeks as she kissed him. She gripped Hizen’s hardened hand.

I can’t be without you.

Tears accumulated in his blue eyes and rolled down on his cheeks. He had wanted to give up such desperate love that he had chosen to die. Even if he was punished, or if he fell into hell, he could not deceive his feelings.

Like Leasis, Hizen took courage. He slowly raised his hand to caress her cheek and held her in his arms. Rapid heartbeats, which they did not know who it belonged to, rang each other’s ears.

The mournful kiss did not end easily. The sticky sound of saliva lingered around their ears, and Hizen and Leasis hugged each other tightly.

Hizen carefully touched her messed up face. Her tears and runny nose got his sleeves wet, but it did not bother him at all.

Only Leasis was ashamed. She came to her senses and slightly lowered her head. She did not want to be embarrassed in front of someone she liked.

Nevertheless, Hizen wiped her tears and nose thoroughly with his hands and sleeves. Then she whined.

“It’s dirty.”

“It’s not dirty at all.”

A man who had never touched a piece of trash in his life could not know what was dirty. Leasis grumbled inwardly. Unlike her words, however, her expression was a little bright. Hizen’s low voice was full of sincerity.

Everything looked good to Hizen when it came to Leasis. The sky she saw, her breath, her emotions, everything was like a life treasure.

Hizen smiled sadly at Leasis. It was not fair to face her straight yet.

However, he had no intention of giving up any more. If he tried harder to atone for her, he would be able to move forward a little bit.

Leasis hugged Hizen after guessing his mind. She whispered in a sad voice.

“I love you.”

Hizen lowered his head slightly and touched her lips. Happiness filled his heart.

Some words written by Neren in his book came to his mind.

[Do not let any typhoon shake you.

“Yes, Neren. You were right.”

Hizen smiled thinking of Neren. Keeping his reputation of being the greatest strategist of the Empire, Neren had foreseen it.

But then, the two of them hurriedly opened their mouths, recalling one fact.

“Wait… we.”

“Yes. There’s something we haven’t solved yet.”

Leasis nodded as she faced him.
