Chapter 63

Elnos and Marquis Contiben were already sitting on the sofa and talking.

Blix entered the room, pulling the cart quietly so as not to disturb them. Then he stood in the corner and put a whole piece of bread in his mouth.

“Thanks to the Marquis, I used it well.”

“Thank you.”

“I didn’t know Count Dratius had such a dark history hidden.”

“There’s no one in the world who doesn’t have a bit of dust.”

Elnos smiled, frowning his nose. It was really unimaginable. Such a thing had happened to Count Dratius. If it were not Contiben delivering the message, he would have thought it was a joke and would have cut the man’s neck.

Contiben smiled grimly while drinking Elnos’ wine.

“The Empire is so small. The butler’s granddaughter was my son-in-law’s student.”

He was really lucky. His son-in-law would not have even remembered if the butler’s granddaughter was not the best among countless students. Threatening the butler by abducting her granddaughter was a Contiben-like method.

Contiben thought, wetting his throat with sweet wine. Come to think of it, it was Elnos, not himself, who was lucky.

Contiben looked at Elnos with a slight glance. The handsome black-haired man who was smiling leisurely seemed to have been chosen by the gods.

Everything Elnos pursued went smoothly like water. There was no problem.

“It seems like the story is coming to an end.”

Bread in both hands, Blix sat down next to Contiben. Blix wrapped his arm around his shoulder and said jokingly.

“Marquis, long time no see. Have you been well?”

“Yes, Your Highness Prince Blixrond, how have you been?”

“Well, huh.”

Contiben carefully squeezed his body back. Although he was now hiding naturally in the form of a child, the second prince of Utran was a man in front of whom he could not let his guard down.

He had terrifying sword skills on par with Count Dratius, and had the cruel habit of cuting his enemy’s neck. The sight of Blix carrying the head of an enemy in both hands was still vivid in his mind.

When Contiben silently tightened his head, Blix mumbled through the bread.

“Relax.”

“Yes.”

As he slightly turned his head, he saw something strange. Perhaps his new taste had changed, but there was a strange sauce on the end of his bread.

Contiben recognized it because his wife also ate bread like that. It was a unique snack that had become recently the favorite one of the ladies of the Harknon Empire.

While glancing at him, Contiben took out letters and pages from his arms and handed them to Blix politely.

In the meantime, Contiben had been in charge of bringing orders to Blix. Most of the time, it had been about killing high-ranking officials or hiding things.

Eating the bread in one bite, Blix received and opened a letter without any complaints. But he saw something that he could not believe. The dragon egg that Elnos was looking for was stolen.

Really? When Blix asked with his eyes, Contiben easily confirmed. Blix quickly chewed the bread and swallowed it.

“No, what kind of crazy man steals a dragon egg?”

I can’t believe I’m hearing this from Blix, the craziest guy in the world. Contiben sighed.

Recently, Contiben had thought hard about how he could carry the dragon egg hidden in the Dragon Mountains. He had to do something to cover the eyes of the Emperor, but he could not think of anything.

He had tried to inform Elnos, but then a clever idea had come to his mind. Hiring small merchants to carry the dragon egg. He had tried to handle things secretly to show his influence to Elnos once more.

As always, the work was carried out quickly. However, there was one thing he had not taken into account. It was the stupid and greedy merchant among them.

As soon as he saw the dragon egg, his eyes turned, and in the end he even disappeared by using magic scrolls in front of the capital. It seemed that his life was not worth much.

Contiben laughed in vain. Fortunately, the merchant’s disappearance was near the capital. This area was in their palms, so it was not a big problem.

“But I was going to give you a ride as a congratulatory gift for becoming a knight…”

Blix was disappointed. What a touching reunion it would have been if he appeared in front of Leasis on a dragon’s back.

Blix relished his appetite out of regret and soon approached the dark wall of the room. It was a bit difficult to say hello to his aunt since it had been a while since he last came. Elnos guessed his mind and slowly lifted himself up.

Elnos, who was close to the wall, glanced at Contiben and said.

“I’ll talk about the rest later.”

When Blix reached out to the wall, a green vine popped out. Blix’s hands connected to it were stained black. Contiben hurriedly looked away from the scene he could not get used to even after all this time.

The place where the two moved was a long bridge in ruins. Blix asked, shaking off the dirt on his legs.

“How’s Leasis doing?”

“Don’t ask me if you know.”

“It’s difficult.”

Elnos stared at Blix and turned away. Blix praised Leasis all the way to the dark forest. Her sword skills, cleaning skills, and excellent sense.

I’ve heard it so many times that I think I’ll get a scab in my ears. Elnos yawned roughly, picking his ears.

Then, Blix grabbed him by the arm.

“Elnos, look over there!”

Blix pointed to near his mother’s grave. Elnos opened his mouth when he saw a red-haired woman slaughtering the Empress’ wizards with a wooden sword.

There was a crazy woman like that. While wielding the wooden sword, she was using healing magic with her other hand at the same time. And then she was beating the healed wizards to death again.

As he was looking at the scene curiously, Blix said in an excited voice.

“As expected of our Leasis! Elnos, did you see that? Our Leasis is such a wonderful person!”

“Our Leasis? You’re not even close to her, you only saw her at the gladiator tournament.”

“What, only the gladiator tournament! We’ve shared the blood swordsmanship. She and I are like brothers.”

Elnos glanced at his Hyung acting like a child. He looked like he would run to her right away.

Elnos grabbed Blix by the back of his neck.

The situation was sorted out to a certain extent. Leasis shook her hands and approached the wizards. They were standing on the ground with their hands raised.

“Put your hands up.”

The wizards, surprised by Leasis’ command, rushed their hands.

She glanced over them and grabbed her wooden sword. The bruises could not even be seen because she had smacked only the areas that were not easily spotted. All of them were ‘tips’ written behind the book given by Hizen.

“This is the end for today, but I won’t let you go next time.”

The wizards looked angry, but they could no longer protest. They did not know how strong that red-haired knight’s hand could be. They quietly lowered their heads and kept her face clearly in their mind.

Leasis closed her lips as she saw a gray object thrown away next to the grave. The seemed to have smoked and played there quite a lot. There were a lot of cigarette butts that smelled queasy.

“You can get up now. Oh. Please remove all the cigarette butts when you go.”

“…”

Leasis’ greatest learning from Hizen was his attitude. She had realized early that people like Hizen could feel more charismatic than people with a loud voice.

So she decided to use a different method rather than forcing them to do it. She fiddled with her wooden sword and spoke low.

“If you really don’t like it, I will go through due process.”

“Oh, no!”

“We’ll erase e-e-everything and go!”

The effect was quite excellent. The scared wizards sprang up and took the cigarette butts with both hands.

Soon after they disappeared, Leasis smiled happily. She had successfully completed her first mission. She was happy that the beginning was not so bad.

At that time, she could feel someone’s presence. Turning her head, she saw a handsome man with black hair trimmed neatly.

His mysterious black eyes were looking at Leasis entirely. Noble blood. She bowed her head hurriedly, recalling the time when she met Princess Ashley.

“Good morning.”

“Yes, hello.”

The man answered softly and approached the grave. He took a small dagger out of his arms and began trimming the weeds on the tomb.

Leasis dissuaded him when he started to get mud on his expensive clothes.

“I’ll do it.”

“It’s okay. It’s my responsibility.”

The man who bent his eyes nicely and smiled looked as good as Max.

Who was this man? She had heard from Max that the princes had all been killed by someone’s hands. Maybe he was a distant relative of the Imperial Family.

While Leasis was guessing, Elnos shook the dirt off his hands. Leasis looked up at him, who was as tall as Hizen.

But there was blood on his long neck. It was not a fingernail or scratch, but the trace of a sword.

Leasis reached out and wrapped her hand around Elnos’ neck. Trying to avoid reflexively, he was surprised by the hot temperature he felt in his neck. Healing magic was revealed in an instant.

Elnos stared at her, touching his healed neck. Rather than the pain caused by the sword, the hot body temperature felt now was foreign.

Misunderstanding why he was surprised, she immediately apologized.

“I’m sorry if I was rude.”

“Are you really sorry?”

Elnos smiled low and folded his arms. Leasis was troubled with her head stiffened. She did not know if he was sarcastic or joking.

She pondered and decided to be honest. She had healed an injured person, but she did not think it was necessary to apologize. Besides, Hizen…

[Don’t look down easily. Apologize only for what you really did wrong. If someone gives you unjustified punishment, I won’t stand still.]

Leasis looked up. Then, she saw the black eyes like graphite sparkling mysteriously.

She spoke confidently, facing his eyes.

“No.”

It was an unexpected answer, so Elnos raised one corner of his mouth. He could not take his eyes off her because her appearance overlapped with someone.

Only their eyes were entangled in silence. There was a reason why Blix was complimenting her so much. Elnos was deeply impressed. She looked determined, facing him straight despite his dark eyes.

But then, suddenly, drops of water started to fall. The sky was dark, and it seemed that it was going to rain in the end.

Leasis hurriedly took off her uniform jacket and put it on top of his black hair. Elnos was lost in thought, feeling her wet jacket.

What is this, taking off your clothes for me? As he lowered his gaze slightly, he saw her smiling. It was the face of a guardian who looked like his Hyung.

“Leave it to me and go back.”

“…”

“Come on. If you get rained on, you’ll catch a cold.”

What? Elnos opened his mouth unknowingly. Up until now, women had been nothing but nuisances and useless beings to him, because they were weak. But such a respectful person took off her jacket for him and protected his mother’s grave with her sword.

Leasis, wearing a thin shirt, looked determined. She looked up at the sky, flipping her hair drenched in the rain.

She was worried about the tombstone because of the hail. Without caring about Elnos, she hurriedly picked up some wood from the forest and created a temporary protective shield for the tombstone.

In the meantime, Elnos was staring blanky at her. Leasis looked up at Elnos tickling his cheek.

She saluted him with a bright smile.

“Goodbye!”

Elnos looked at her one more time and turned around. He murmured, staring at the tree where Blix was bound in the distance.

“Leasis… Leasis…”

Elnos fiddled with his big hand around his mouth. A faint smile was drawn on his face.
