Chapter 379 - Forgive Her

Their mother had quickly scribbled through the sketchbook and while she was doing that, everyone was looking at the possible locations. Hao Suyin had listed all the countries where she and her team tried to capture Checks.

"I'm bored," Wuming said, looking at the circles on all of the maps.

Qing Lok was busy with the rest of the IT team. The soft clacking of the keys provided a calming background music.

If he was being honest, Qing Chen was also kind of regretting all the things that was happening. It was like he had just realized that he didn't really want to do this. "Let's just get this thing over with so she would be on her way out of our lives."

Feng Xuan grabbed Qing Chen by the arm and pulled him to the side. "Are you sure that's what you want to do?"

"What? Kick her out? Well, technically this is still father's estate but—"

"No, I mean push your mother away?"

Qing Chen teeth grazed his lower lip. "Let's talk about this when we're home. Now is not that time to contemplate about this."

Qing Chen was about to turn away from her but she pulled him back. "That woman is in pain," Feng Xuan said.

"I know, wife," Qing Chen said patiently. "We were too."

Feng Xuan released her husband, wishing there was something else that she could do. It seemed like the brothers' mind were all closed. And neither one of them wanted to open the doors for their mother.

Feng Xuan knew that it was none of her business and that it was not something that she could make a comment on, but she couldn't help but feel bad for their mother. Just what was she was supposed to do? She was an official member of this family. Surely there has to be something.

"Where are you going?" Qing Chen asked when he saw that she was moving away from the table.

"I'll just talk to someone. I'll be right back."

There was no better person to ask for advice other than the original Mrs. Qing.

Xie Changying was in her bedroom, sipping her tea. She had been too exhausted the past few months with everything that was going on with their family.

She had disagreed with the argument that Hao Suyin should return to the family. She didn't want her grandchildren to know that their mother was alive. In her opinion, it would only make things more complicated.

But during that family meeting, it was her, her son, and her daughter-in-law. The other two voted that they should go back to their children.

She saw it as something illogical. She had raised her grandchildren when their mother left. "Just how do you think they would react?" she had asked her frankly. Hao Suyin opened her mouth but she immediately cut off. "They are going to hate you. You think you still know your sons. You think they would be joyful and happy that you're back in their lives…"

Xie Changying shook her head. "That's where you're wrong. Those boys are going to take offense with the things that you did. They are not going to welcome you back into the family. They were hurt when you left. They were broken, messed up, and lonely. It was like all of them were carrying all their grief because you died. Now you want to come back and tell them that you were never dead in the first place?

I knew you were no good for my son when I first met you but we had been able to get over that hurdle. You had proved to me that you deserved to be in this family with your little contribution. You gave this family three strong beautiful boys. They're okay now. They had made peace that you are dead. If they are at home right now trying to track you down, they would never find you. I'll make sure of that.

Save them from relieving every hurt and tears they had shed. Save them from all that pain."

Even after her lengthy speech, when the couple met with her the following morning, they said that they had not changed their decision. They were going to meet their boys and they were going home that day.

"Suit yourself," Xie Changying said and went out of the house.

She left her bedroom door open because she knew that her grandsons were coming home today after walking out yesterday. She heard the screaming from the living room earlier and she smiled to herself.

"What did I tell you?" she whispered to no one in particular. Now, she casually sipped on her tea while she was looking through the latest issue of a home magazine.

That was when she heard the knock on the door. She lifted her eyes, thinking that it would be her daughter-in-law in tears and telling her that she had been right and now she was giving up. But it was Feng Xuan.

"There you are," she said. "Refreshing to see you."

"It's also great to see," Feng Xuan replied. "May I come in?"

"Of course, child." She gestured to the seat in front of her. "What can I do for you?"

"What am I supposed to do with them? They don't want to talk to their mother."

Xie Changying could not help but smile at that and she saw how much it confused Feng Xuan. "Those boys have their own decisions."

"Do you think that they're going to forgive her?"

Xie Changying's smile widened kindly. "There's a huge chance that they might do just that. They may have buckets of blood in their hands, but they were raised to put family above everything. But we never know. Time will tell."

"They told her that once we're done with everything she should leave."

Xie Changying shrugged. "It's up to her honestly. If she would be persistent, maybe those boys would be able to forgive her."
