Chapter 297 - I Can Sleep With You

Qing Lok already fell asleep on the short drive to the Feng's residence. The driver had to call him thrice before he could open his eyes. He grabbed his phone and called Liu Meilien. He already had the phone pressed to his ear and he closed his eyes some more.

Why isn't she answering? his mind whispered. The next thing he heard were the continuos knocks on a car window and the door opening. Before he could open his eyes, arms locked around his neck and he could hear sobbing.

"Why are you crying?" he asked, wrapping an arm on Liu Meilien's waist, almost pulling her to his lap. Her body's warmth was really comforting. "Don't cry."

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I will be better if you can stop crying, baby."

Liu Meilien made a hysterical sound between laughing and crying. "Did you just call me baby?"

"Did that sound weird?" he asked, caressing her hair. "We haven't decided what to call each other yet."

Liu Meilien nodded against his chest.

"Can you please stop crying? I am alive." Then there was a fist punching his chest that made him sat up in shock. "Ow!"

"Do you know how worried I was?!"

Qing Lok wanted to say that what she was going through was nothing like the feeling that he was going through when the bullets were raining on him. But he knew that would only make her feel more worried. "No, I have no idea how worried you were." He kissed the side of her head instead.

Liu Meilien sniffed. "Where are we going?"

"Aren't you going back to your house?"

"You want me to leave you?!"

"No, no!" Qing Lok laughed and touched her cheek. "But I really need to sleep. I feel like I haven't slept in a week—oh wait, I don't just feel it. I really haven't slept in a week."

"I can sleep with you," she said, pulling a tissue from a box from the side of the car. "I didn't mean it to come out like that. I'm just saying that I could come with you… while you sleep. If you'll have me."

"Of course, of course," he said. "Should we go to our house?"

"Who's there?"

"Nobo—" then he bit his tongue. She already knew about their secret. "My brother is there."

"Qing Chen?"

"No, the other one. The oldest one. Qing Wei."

Liu Meilien nodded. "I don't think I'm ready to meet your other brother."

Qing Lok laughed. "I don't think anybody would ever be ready to meet him. But he's a delight. I promise." He leaned forward and told the driver. "To The Kingly please." He turned. "But I have no intention of putting you into any more stress."

"Thank you," she muttered and wiped her nose.

Being the brother of the owner of the hotel meant that he didn't have to sign any forms and that he could walk in there say his name and then he would be handed a key to one of the penthouses, and access to the private elevator.

What he didn't expect is that being Liu Meilien's boyfriend also meant kisses in the elevator. The moment that the doors closed, Liu Meilien wrapped her arms around him and the next moment they were kissing.

Qing Lok knew that she was still in shock. It was even more stressed with the way she was kissing and pressing her body against him—like she couldn't get enough of him. He soothed her back, and returned her kisses slowly. It was a long ride to the top of the hotel and by the time that they reached their floor, she was calmer.

"I'm sorry," she said and repositioned her dress that Qing Lok just noticed. It reached below her knees and had a neckline that exposed her collarbones and upper chest. It was light pink in color and flowed to her body perfectly.

"It's okay," he answered and held her hand just as the doors opened. There was only one door in this floor and they entered.

When Qing Lok got to the bedroom he sighed in contentment and dropped to it. "I'm sorry, I really need to sleep." He kicked off his shoes and crawled to a pillow.

"It's okay. Take your time. I'm the one who pulled you out of the house the moment you got back." Liu Meilien pulled off her sandals and got on the other side of the bed. She got close to him and played with his hair. Qing Lok was lying on his stomach. "Are there gonna be more of these events?"

Qing Lok closed his eyes and already felt sleep pulling him in. "I don't know. Depends on Qing Chen. But he hates bloodshed too you know. I'm sure he would try to avoid it."

Liu Meilien kissed his cheek. "Thank you for seeing me."

"Hey," he said and pushed himself upward. "You were really brave. You went to The Underground."

Liu Meilien looked like she was about to cry again but she stopped it with effort. "It was a scary place. People were wearing scary masks you know? Like the ones used by famous serial killers? I thought one of them would pull me in the corner and stab me to death."

Qing Lok smiled and kissed her. "You survived."

"I didn't think I wouldn't have survived if it weren't for Shao Fang."

"Nice man, isn't he?" Qing Lok flicked her nose.

"He is," she nodded. "But I was so worried about you. When we were staying at your house, I hardly slept. He had to make me these herbal teas that made me feel sleepy."

Qing Lok laughed. "Yeah, he had been in the mountains most of his life. I'm sure his grandfather thought him a lot about alternative medicine."

Liu Meilien pushed his hair back. "You should go to sleep."

"What are you going to do?"

"Watch you sleep."

Qing Lok pulled her in. "WE'RE going to sleep."
