Chapter 291 - Gr.a.p.es

Qing Chen and Feng Xuan didn't go home to the Qing's residence. It was about time that they go back to their own house. Some of the help from the main house went here from time to time to dust. The bodyguards never left the place.

"Can they leave now?" Feng Xuan asked Qing Chen when they finally closed their huge door.

"Yes, I already made the arrangement."

"So, our house is just OUR house again?" she smiled at him.

"Yes, it's ours," he smiled back. Qing Chen dropped their bag. "A relaxing bath first?"

**

Qing Chen made Feng Xuan go first in the bathroom so she would have time to be able to clean herself and soak in the hot water.

Feng Xuan felt like the sand had gotten under her skin and she scrubbed her skin twice. Qing Chen had asked her if she wanted to drop by the hospital first before they went home but she would rather rest tonight. The doctors could wait until tomorrow. Even, Wuming refused medical help. It was like all they wanted to do was get some comfortable sleep.

Feng Xuan was already soaking in the tub when Qing Chen came back with a basket of food and a bottle of whiskey. "For the pain," he said.

He took a bath first and Feng Xuan gladly watched her entertainment. "Why were you watching?"

She smiled at him and popped another gr.a.p.e in her mouth. "Nothing, where else am I supposed to look?"

She scooted forward and made space for him. The tub was huge enough to fit around five people. But they didn't like leaving space between the two of them. He said, "Maybe we should put a TV here so we could stay longer."

"What? Aren't there enough things to do in the bathroom?"

He was munching on a piece of cheese. "Like what?"

Feng Xuan squeezed her hair and tied it on a messy bun on top of her head. "Like… doing other things."

His eyebrows raised to his forehead. He knew exactly what she was talking about, but he felt like teasing her.

"But before that," she said. "Can you really believe that The Zookeeper is dead?"

"Yes," he nodded. "It's finally done. Now, we can get back to our lives." He gave her a gr.a.p.e. "Have you thought about the thing I asked you?"

"Which one?"

"The one I asked before we left."

About having kids, her mind whispered. "Oh!" she said and laughed. Her toes curled. "Well, before we get to that part, someone needs to pop's one cherry."

Qing Chen laughed. It was the first time that Feng Xuan saw his face so open after so long, like for a few seconds he was worry free.

He touched her shoulder and pulled her close, holding her by the chin. "We'll get to that," he kissed her. "Later."

"Literally later, right?" she asked and wrapped her arms behind his neck and pressing her bosoms to his chest.

Qing Chen held on her face. "Why are you so excited?"

"Well, Chen," she sighed. "I honestly don't know how you got out of there unscathed—"

"The bullets don't like me."

She rolled her eyes. "But I was shot! I was beaten up by a fat old man! I'm injured. I could've died there!"

Qing Chen laughed. "I am just teasing you, wife."

She pouted.

"Were you scared?" he asked.

She hugged him, completely flushing herself against his body. "For a second."

Qing Chen hugged her back, not really knowing what to say. He didn't want to be the kind of husband that would tell him wife to stop doing something that she clearly enjoyed. "Are you still happy with this kind of life?"

"We're going to be happy. We're going to be on top of our games from now on. We won't have no problems killing people."

Qing Chen pressed his forehead on her shoulder. "Come to think of it, it felt like so much has happened but at the same it felt like everything was just a dream."

She pulled away and said, "Chen, I don't want to die not having it all and not having experienced it all."

The smile came back to his lips. "Yes, yes. I already got your point—popping a cherry and all that."

She smiled at him and felt her heart warm and calm.

Qing Chen caressed her cheek. "You're going to have it all, wife. You're the kind of woman who gets it all."

She smiled and leaned in for the kiss. It was nice and easy at first--like it was the most natural thing in the world for them to do.

Feng Xuan suddenly thought about the last time that they had kissed like this aside from the one that happened on the plane. It felt like it had been so long since they could make themselves feel like… normal people.

Like a normal couple who only wanted to cuddle and kiss for the rest of the day. Yeah, her mind thought. It had been a while since they were able to be themselves.

Qing Chen's hand travelled down her waist and scooped her bottom. Then, he squeezed hard and Feng Xuan m.o.a.ned as the slight pain turned into pleasure. It was like something inside of her switched and then she was clawing at him, wanting to feel him—everywhere.

She wanted to take him, to let him consume her and she him. Qing Chen pulled away to let her breathe but then he bit on her neck and the overwhelming desire inside her just fired up some more.

"Chen," was the only thing that left her mouth.

He didn't need to be told twice and he gathered her in his arms and he stood up, carrying her like she weighted nothing. He carefully stepped off the tub and out of the bathroom.

"We're wet," she whispered against his lips.

"YOU'RE wet."

He carried her to the middle of the bed, laying her down gently, placing kisses all over her face. He felt drawn. He was tired but he wanted to do this.

It was as if his mind was just registering that his wife was really here, alive, breathing, and warm. There was something that rose above his chest, it was relief. He remembered the moment he thought he lost her and how it felt like the coming up for air when you were drowning when he saw that she was still alive. A mess, but alive.

"Chen," Feng Xuan whispered, getting impatient.

"Shh," he said and brought himself upward, looking down at her and her beautiful cheekbones and long eyelashes.

His fingers touched the scar on her forehead. The scar on her leg, he didn't even need to look to know where it was. And the newly added one on her arm. Then to her bruised side.

So much has happened to her and she survived it. He had never met a stronger woman in his life. He was even convinced she was stronger than anyone in his family. How could you go through so much and still stand the way she does?

There was nothing else he wanted to do than keep her from getting harmed again. He meant it when he said he didn't want to live in a world without her.

And he would do everything to make this world stop from hurting her.

Feng Xuan bowed her head, getting conscious of all the imperfections on her body.

"Hey," Qing Chen said and lifted her face with a finger. He didn't imagine the situation to be like this. He would've wanted to do this in a more romantic way. But there was no way he was not going to say it now. "You know I love you, right?"

Immediately, Feng Xuan's eyes watered and she clamped down on her lips, nodding. "Now, I do."

He smiled. "Good." He wiped the tear that escaped her eyes. "Why are you crying?"

"Because," she sniffed. "It had to take a life and death situation for us to actually say it."

"I'm sorry it took this long," he kissed her tears. "But last I checked it was only me who said it."

She slapped his chest and she wiped her eyes. She got reached upwards and kissed him again. "I love you, Qing Chen. And I mean it."
