Chapter 192 - A War to Win

Feng Xuan and Wang Yimin were busy getting ready in one of the suites at The Kingly Hotel. Every once in a while one of their event managers would come in and give them an update with was happening in the venue.

Finally a knock on the door brought their dresses inside. Feng Xuan immediately stood up as Wang Yimin pulled the zipper down.

"I know you're no longer a fan of light colors. But…" her cousin said and pulled out the dress.

Feng Xuan's mouth hung open. "NO!"

"Yes!" Wang Yimin giggled. "Now, we are not going to release the same dress in the same color. They can salivate while looking at you in this thing."

The dress was white underneath but the tulle overlay was pink and in its entirety, made it look like it was champagne in color. The shoulders, torso, and skirt were filled with embroidered flowers in blue, violet, and light pink shades. The hems were lined with black. It looked amazing.

"Want to try it on?" asked Wang Yimin.

"Yes, please!"

As Wang Yimin fastened the last button at the nape of her neck, she asked, "Why aren't you the one wearing this dress?"

"You're s.e.xier than me," her cousin laughed. "And you have a long torso. They can eat all of that design." Wang Yimin showed her a pair of dark nude shoes and bag. "These should go well with that."

"What are you wearing?" asked Feng Xuan.

"Something more beautiful, of course," joked Wang Yimin and pulled the zipper of the bag. For the second time tonight, Feng Xuan was lost for words. "It's pretty, isn't it?"

Feng Xuan gave Wang Yimin a hug. "You're so amazing. I can't believe you haven't opened up this store on your own."

"Oh," Wang Yimin waved. "I have to thank you for dragging me in this mess. I am loving it. By the way, what did Liu Meilien said?"

"She said yes."

"Did you tell her that we need her tonight?"

"Oh shit," said Feng Xuan and rushed to her bag. She quickly typed a message to her step-sister. She took a breath of relief when she replied. Feng Xuan called her. "We need you here, ASAP. Come as you are. Okay?"

"I'm on my way," answered Liu Meilien and dropped the call.

"She'll be here soon," said Feng Xuan just as the same time she noticed the third garment bag hanging on the rack.

"I'm starting to like that step-sister of yours," said Wang Yimin, getting out of her robe.

Feng Xuan felt herself smile. "I think I am too."

**

The women were already putting the final touches on their faces when Liu Meilien arrived, looking out of breath, wrapped in layers of coat and jacket. "I came as fast as I can."

"Blame, Xuan," said Wang Yimin. "She had too much tea this afternoon she forgot to tell you all the details."

Liu Meilien smiled and Feng Xuan was baffled by how pretty her step-sister really was. Her skin looked amazing. "Should we get started?"

As Wang Yimin was attending to her face, Liu Meilien could not take her eyes off the clothes. "Those are really pretty dresses."

"As the brand ambassadress, you're the one who's going to wear the prettiest of them all tonight. And because you have the longest pair of legs."

Liu Meilien could not imagine the amount of excitement she was feeling.

"Does your mother know that you're here?" asked Feng Xuan.

Her smile immediately slipped off her face. "She's attending tonight. We're meant to go together. But I told her I'd get ready with a friend. I ran out of the house before she could even answer."

Feng Xuan grinned at her through the mirror. "You didn't tell her we're making you one of us?"

She wanted to shake her head but Wang Yimin was putting blush on her cheeks. "She might stop me."

"Well, it's good that you've chosen something good for yourself and your career. We'll have a contract prepared for you in the morning."

Wang Yimin's dress was coral in shade and like Feng Xuan's dress, it also included embroidered tulle at the skirt. But unlike the first dress, this one was only filled on the top half. There were only four designs at the lower part. The small round flowers on her chest were indigo and the leaves and branches were in the lightest shades of brown.

"It looks like we'll be flower girls," commented Liu Meilien.

"Yes, we're going to the secret garden," answered Wang Yimin.

When they finally showed Liu Meilien her dress, her breath was knocked out of her chest. "Oh my god!"

The dress was a shiny pink with flowers embroidered near the high collar like an imaginary neckline. It would hug her chest and it has a slit. The twist was, from the thigh down of her left leg, it was already made of tulle and sparkly flowers littered it like it was raining down to her foot.

"This is crazy!" she said when she was finally wearing it. She gave it a few twirls and enjoyed how she looked like an expensive disco light. "I'll wear this dress well!"

"You better, or you're fired," joked Feng Xuan.

"Come on, ladies. We'll move to hair." Wang Yimin opened a shiny wooden box near the table and took one. "This is made out of ivory." YANG was carved in gold against one side. White, silver, and gold lotus-looking flowers hung at one end.

Wang Yimin twisted their hairs and slipped the pin in place. "Now, we're ready."

"It's still too early," said Liu Meilien.

"What do you mean too early?" Feng Xuan asked and retouched her lipstick. "Unfortunately, Yimin is obsessed with after-preparation photoshoots."

"We are going to post this on our page. This night is going down on history," defended Wang Yimin. "We owe it to the future to doc.u.ment it."

"Well, there's a war to win. Let's go."
