Chapter 164 - Hello To You Too, Wife

Time flew by, and before they even knew it, a whole month had already passed and they were on their way back to the training grounds. Master had invited them to stay the night to give graduation rites.

"I honestly don't see the point of this," Qing Lok said while they were in the car, scrolling on his phone.

"You're finally getting a diploma, aren't you happy that you actually finished something?" teased Wuming who was on the other side of the limousine.

"I wish I left too," Qing Lok answered. "I could've gone to a college in North."

"Oh come on," Wuming said. "Business schools are better here I think." He had taken his own classes when he ran away. His father had also been reasonable with sending him tuition fee as he would be taken out of the will and he should make something of himself. Their father made it clear it was the last thing that Wuming would take from him. After that, he would be on his own. "You know, I completely understand why you want to get away from everything."

Qing Lok only shook his head.

Wuming and Qing Chen only exchanged a look. Qing Lok seemed to have been going through some issues of his own—but they knew it was mostly about their family.

"Anything you want to share with us?" Wuming asked Qing Chen.

"Well, nothing's changed for now," he answered. "But Dai Fang's showing signs of improvement ever since I talked to him. I would have to find another reason to get rid of him."

"And the other shareholders?"

"I don't think they're willing to sell stocks with me yet…" the cogs in his mind had been drawing up non-stop plans and outcomes for the past few weeks. He needed to make something that would force them to sell their stocks. Hell, he didn't even need to actually create something. He just have to create a threat that would scare them into folding. "They're mostly on the Dai's side right now. I need dirt on them."

"We'll find something," said Wuming. "But I have to say, Feng Xuan's absence from your side is not looking good. A lot more articles are showing up about the collapse of the merger between Fengs and Qings."

"We'll all be back in the city tomorrow." Qing Chen looked outside the window and noticed that the it was mainly trees now. They must be getting close.

"Another thing, Chen. You and Father. Are you really sure you want this?"

"What do you mean?" Qing Chen laughed without mirth. "Do I want to kill Father to assume power?"

"What evil mind do you have?"

His fake laugh turned into a real one. "I thought you and I are in this together?"

"Yeah, but not to the point of killing our dad."

Qing Chen nodded. "I was kidding, Wuming. I'll just have to push Father in the corner. I am going to change the mafia. If he can't take it… I'll have to make him swallow that pill."

Wuming leaned forward. "What if we don't kill Father… incapacitate him perhaps?"

"Are you seriously talking about that right now?!" Qing Lok glared at his brothers. "You're talking about our father's life here. In case you've forgotten, he's the only parent we have left."

Qing Chen and Wuming laughed.

"We're messing around, Lok. Don't take it too seriously," Wuming said.

"Yeah, and you're not an assassin and Chen doesn't have a hidden desire to kill everyone he sees." Qing Lok rolled his eyes at them.

The older brothers only shook their heads but the look they shared… it might turn into something more.

**

When Wuming got out of the car, he happily breathed the cold air which smelled like trees and everything green. The grounds were empty—must be the siesta after lunch. The door was closed and they had to push through it and saw that it was also empty.

Coming down from the stairs a grinning Shao Fang welcomed them. "It's been a long time."

"I see you still haven't touched your eyebrows," commented Wuming.

"What are you talking about? It's a signature look." Shao Fang inclined his head. "Come on, everybody is in the dormitory. But Feng Xuan is in the other training room with Master."

"How is she?" asked Qing Chen when they started walking.

"Doing really great! She hardly rests."

Qing Chen nodded with a silent sign in relief. He could barely sleep last night. He was too excited to see Feng Xuan after so long. He was wondering if she had changed in any way.

Shao Fang pointed to a set of doors. "She's in there with Master. I'll see you all tonight at dinner."

"Thank you," he answered and they walked.

"Aren't you scared?" Wuming asked.

"Of?"

"Of your wife being better than you are?"

A smile appeared on his lips. "Why should I be scared of that?"

"Perhaps she'll leave you because now that she can protect herself, you're pretty much useless."

Qing Chen laughed. "If she's a better fighter than I am then that's good. That means she'll be able to defend herself. It's the only thing that matters."

"I don't know with you, Chen," said Wuming. "I'm scared for you."

"I have nothing to worry about," he said and pulled the doors open. Had Shao Fang pointed them to the wrong door? Even this one looked empty. They walked inside and saw Master at one corner picking up a sword from the training mat.

"Where's—"

Wuming didn't get to finish what he was saying. They all heard it and Qing Chen pushed his brothers backwards as they had taken a hold on his coat and yanked him to them.

Just then, the gleam of a blade caught the sunlight and sliced merely inches away from Qing Chen's face.

They all stumbled backwards and stared at the form in front of them.

Qing Chen grinned back to her. "Hello to you too, wife."
