Chapter 111 - (Hundred) Ten: Friendship

Navaya flew into the changing room and touched her forehead on the door as she locked it, her grip on the items tightened.

Slowly, she shuffled away from the door and moved to the full-length mirror that was positioned leaning on a wall corner.

Her face burned as she stared at her reflection. She flung the dress over her shoulder and held out the pair of underwear Johnny bought her. What the fuck!

The heat of her cheeks flared as she stared at it. Lace lingerie that matched the color of the dress he got her. Black.

Apparently, Johnny had a problem with her wearing sexy dresses but sexy underwear was a different story.

The man was truly something else. Just because he took off her bra a couple of times in the past doesn't give him the right to buy her one. Or does it? Fuck!

Navaya eyed the lingerie and blew out a sigh, pushing back the emotions that stirred in her as her gazes fell on the size. It was precise. A little too precise for someone who guessed.

It was a 36C, the only cup the fits her well, flawlessly.

It shocked her even though it really shouldn't have. Johnny had taken her clothes off before, he had seen her bra and chest a hand full of times but then again, it was five years ago. A long time, his guess shouldn't have been accurate because things change.

Her eyes lingered on it, blinking. Johnny most have been a true ladies' man, who had bought a lot of women underwear in the past to be able to know so much about it. He probably bought Nicky a few pairs.

A bitter taste filled Navaya's mouth, hate shading her heart as the thought scaled through her mind. She shouldn't feel wronged if he did it. She didn't even want to think about it, Nicky was his wife, it wasn't bad for a man to buy underwear for his wife but alas here she was, thinking about it.

Navaya tried to push away the wretched feeling that tormented her but to no avail. The emotions stayed, creeping their way deeper into her. It felt awful.

Shaking her head, Navaya placed the undergarments on the stool next to her, unable to look at them anymore. She wasn't going to keep them. Fuck, she didn't know if she could bring herself to wear them.

Sighing again, Navaya began peeling off her clothes and slipped into the dress. She stared at herself in the mirror. The dress was elegant, it made her look sophisticated and of course, covered her from neck to toe. Even her arms weren't showing but the dress was still too beautiful to reject. Navaya loved the way it looked on her body too much to even dream of refusing it. She didn't plan to.

Accepting the underwear Johnny bought might be outrageous to Navaya but the dress was making itself an exception. After all, it was her compensation for having all the clothes she chose being returned, so taking this dress should be okay, right?

Navaya chuckled as she twirled, admiring the magnificent flow of the Valentino dress, and soon stopped to stare at the mirror one more time, a grin parting her lips.

" Asshole or not, you still understand my wants more than I do. You might have changed but yet you give the best." Navaya muttered to herself and exhale. " But it doesn't reverse the mistake I made. Getting entangled with you was a mistake."

Holding her dress up, Navaya exited the dressing room, back to where Johnny sat quietly waiting for her. She smiled as their eyes met and he gulped.

" Beautiful." His eyes stayed fixed on her as he rose. " So Beautiful."

Navaya's heart fluttered involuntarily as she covered the distance between them, only stopping when she stood four feet away from him.

" Thank you. I never thought a man like you would have such fine taste. I guess I misjudged you."

A smile broke out on Johnny's lips as her words fell on his ears.

" A man like me?" He stepped a foot closer to her, smiling. Johnny remembered her little policy, he was willing to obey it but just that. Three feet. Anything more than that would just be pushing it.

Navaya bit the inside of her cheek to stifle a laugh. " When you went insane and returned the clothes I picked out a while ago, you convinced me that you didn't know shit about pretty things," Navaya said and Johnny chuckled.

" Everyone has their own definition of pretty." He dipped his hand into his pocket and took out a Velvet box. " May I?"

Did he just ask for permission to come closer or did Navaya hear it wrong? Ever since Johnny came crashing back into her life, he never asked for permission when it came to doing anything with her.

When he didn't say anything else, she narrowed her eyes at the box in his hand then at him, trying to apprehend the situation, to decipher his present actions, and to get why her body responded the way it did.

Navaya's mind turned misty, unable to induce a single thought at the moment, and slowly, she nodded.

Her heart thumped hard, feeling butterflies in her stomach all of the sudden. What was wrong with her? It wasn't the first time Johnny had gotten this close. They have seen and touched each other naked before so why was she feeling this way now?

Johnny took a step towards her then another, the smile on his face unharmed. Navaya trembled as his hands held her shoulders gently, yet firmly and spun her around so her back would face him.

And he took his time to admire her from behind, her sweet sweet ass. Ooof, it was doing things to him. Just the thought of bending her over and fucking her right there, drove him wild, sending pulses down his cock but just like what he did to all the other urges he had been having of Navaya, he curbed this one aside as well.

Now wasn't the right time. If something was going to ensue between them, he wanted to make it pleasurable for both of them, and for that to happen, he needed her to at least like him again. Like, he would settle for that. It's way better than her resentment towards his mere presence.

" What are you doing?" Navaya asked, trying to hide how her body quivered as it anticipated his next move. She tilted her head to peeked at him and blinked when she saw he was still rocking the bright smile on his face.

" When you went into the changing room, I went on a little quest," Johnny said, opening the box in his arm.

" A quest, huh?"

Somehow Johnny's already wide smile widened. " Yeah. I began imagining how great you would look so I decided to find something that could match your beauty." He told and she giggled. Real, unforced giggling.

His heart skipped a beat.

" Well, did you find anything?" Navaya couldn't help but keep asking, giggling hysterically. Why she did so? Even she didn't know and at that moment— just for a minute— things felt like the way they used to. Peaceful.

" No." Johnny chuckled. " So I eventually gave up and went for the next best thing."

He drooped the diamond necklace around her neck, hooking it from behind and a soft gasp fled Navaya's lips at the sight of the flashy jewelry.

" Bodyguards aren't supposed to buy necklaces for their bosses." She turned to look at him. " You know that, right?"

Johnny traced the necklace with his finger. " This one does."

Navaya shuddered. Despite his finger only touching the necklace and never making any contact with her bare skin, she still got shivers. The good kind. The kind she shouldn't be having for him in the first place.

She looked down at the beautiful jewelry then at the beautiful man in front of her. Yes, beautiful. That was what Johnny was and Navaya wasn't afraid to admit it.

" I can't accept it, either way, the same goes for the lingerie." Navaya declared and Johnny catch her hands as they went to unhook the necklace.

" Why not?" A frown displaced the smile on his face.

" What do you mean by why not? Obviously because of you."

Johnny's frown deepened. " Me? This isn't the first time I have bought you a gift."

True, it wasn't the first time he had given her a gift. Back then when they were fueling their burning lust for each other, Johnny used to get her everything, shower her with the finest things to the extent that exchanging presents was a frequent occurrence. The excuse they always used for their behavior was a strong friendship, that they were friends. Then again, it was in the past. Never going to be the present.

" It might not be the first but—"

" But what?" Johnny cut her off, trying to keep his voice as calm as possible. They were just fine a minute ago, all of a sudden, she turned cold towards him again. His heart ached as a sharp pain prickled his chest but he strived to maintain his composure. It was tough, and the only thing that helped was the fact that being angry about it would just push her away even more.

He couldn't let that happen.. But guess it was too late now.
