Chapter 37 - Memories

Chapter 37 Memories

Ravi’s perspective:

I walked down the stairs and saw dinner on the table. Irina looked exceptionally beautiful today. She was wearing a gown that outlined her perfect figure, and the sphenoid bone exposed behind her back was especially sexy and charming. She stood at the dining table and put down two plates of freshly fried steak.

Hearing my footsteps, she looked back in my direction. I walked over, took her hand, and led her to the seat.

“You look very different today.” I looked at her face. She was like a flawless angel. She had bright eyes, white teeth, and rosy lips.

“Today is the first time I’ve cooked for you. I hope you like it.”

“I think I’ll like it.” I went to my seat and sat down. I cut a steak and put it in my mouth. “Yes, it’s very good. I didn’t expect you to be so good at cooking.”

“Thank you for your praise. By the way, Ravi, which university did you graduate from?”

‘I didn’t graduate. I went to West Point before.’

“Oh God, West Point! That’s so cool! Was it hard training there every day?”.

“Fortunately, I started receiving similar training when I was in middle school. My father arranged it. He found a man who graduated from West Point and later served as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army to teach me. This person still serves our Mafia.”

“The one you said before who fought in the Afghan war?”

“He’s just one of them. The most important reason why the Rodriguez family Mafia can become the largest Mafia in the world is because we attract talent at all costs. It doesn’t matter if it’s someone in the military, in the tech industry, in the biochemistry industry, or in the finance industry. We’re not an ordinary street gang.”

“I understand. I heard my father mention last year that a poison maker who had just been released from prison had been poached by you guys. My father has always been sad that he couldn’t poach him.”

“While that poison maker was serving his sentence, we transferred enough living expenses to his family every month to arrange for his sons to go to school. We did it for seven consecutive years until he was released. That’s why the other Mafia couldn’t poach him.”

“You’re a compassionate Mafia leader.”

“Thank you for your praise, even though we’re only doing this for ourselves.”

“Why did you leave West Point without graduating?”

“Because I had to investigate my mother’s death, I came back early to take control of the family Mafia.”

“Have you found anything?”

“Nothing yet.” I took a sip of red wine. “You’ve asked me so many questions. It’s my turn to ask you. What did your mother do before?”

“She was a dancer before.”

“How did your parents meet?”

“My father used to love to dance. At a ball, my mother became his dance partner. He thought my mother danced beautifully, so they started dating. At that time, Raul and Daisy’s mother was seriously ill and bedridden. My father brought my mother to all kinds of public events. The day Raul’s mother died, my father took my mother to a ball. Now that I think about it, it was my father who pushed my mother and me into the abyss. It is understandable that Raul hates my mother and me. I understand him.”

“He can be understood, but he can’t be forgiven.”

“You’re right. Some people do what they think is right but hurt others by playing the victims. They deserve sympathy, but they can’t be forgiven.”

“Yes, so I killed him without any hesitation.”

“Daniel already told me. Anyway, Mom and I are safe. It’s just that Daisy’s blood relatives are all gone. But I think my mother will return the favor.”

“Yes. Your mother is a good person and an extremely smart and brave woman.” I looked at Irina. There was no change in her facial expression. She seemed to know nothing about her mother’s true identity.
