Chapter 195 - You Were The One Who Started This War.

Hecathe chuckled dryly as he heard Lara's words and shook his head as he spoke up, "There would be no need for an investigation."

"Hmm?" Lara turned to look at the man who had dared to interrupt her words.

"After all, your half-assed investigation is the reason why I have been falsely accused and dragged here," Hecathe lifted his head and looked at the girl with a small smirk as he added.

"Excuse me?" Lara tilted her head with a bit of confusion as she heard this and it seemed that, even with her abilities, this girl was not able to read Hecathe's mind.

In the very next moment, there was a loud roar coming from the sky and it had successfully managed to become the center of attention.

Darius was the first to speak up as he shouted, "It's a Dorgon! A Dorgon has infiltrated the city! Take it down immediately!"

Hecathe chuckled dryly as he heard this and muttered, "The Dorgon isn't the only one that is here to greet you."

The guards got ready to attack the Dorgon that seemed to be flying above them in a menacing manner. However, suddenly there was a loud scream that could be clearly heard.

"The mutants!" Someone shouted and the attention was immediately diverted to the army of mutants that had popped out of nowhere and were spread all over the city.

Darius gulped as he heard this and he seemed to be the only willow of spring who was ordering people around and trying to contain the situation.

Lara was still smiling as she found everything a little amusing while Asgarian looked as if he had somehow turned into a stone.

"Divide up! Kill all the mutants at sight!"

Hecathe chuckled a little louder as he heard this and in the very next moment, it seemed that someone had broken the handcuffs and freed the man.

"Death shall be avenged with death! Fairness shall see no title! With the three willows of spring... Ah, sorry." Hecathe spoke with a chuckle as he stretched his muscles and mockingly corrected his words, "In the name of justice, our land shall not forgive sinners!"

Before the mutants could be effectively stopped, the mecha-suits also came out with their army and for the three willows of spring, the situation really took a turn for the worst.

"You dare plan to overthrow us?!" Darius fumed as he glared at Hecathe.

Hecathe sighed as he heard this and shook his head as he spoke a bit too casually, "You have it all wrong. I don't plan to overthrow you. I plan to end you. There is clearly a difference."

"..."

Psion who was watching the show till now, chuckled as he clapped his hands in appreciation, "Your friend really didn't lie when he said he'd put on a good show."

LeiLei clicked her tongue as she heard this and questioned, "Why are you still around? Things are going to get dangerous."

Psion nodded his head as he spoke, "I am well aware of the dangers, but you see. There is someone who'd protect me so I have nothing to worry about."

LeiLei frowned as she heard this and raised her eyebrows as she found it a bit hard to believe the man's words.

"If you're depending on us then you better think twice. I don't really care even if you die."

Psion softly chuckled as he heard this, "It's not like I ever trusted you enough for that."

"..."

Psion bowed his head politely as he continued, "Then, I'll take my leave and reunite with that person."

LeiLei's frown deepened as she heard this and she curiously looked at the man.

Instead of walking away, Psion made his way to the grand platform and tapped the shoulder of one of the mecha-suits. To be more exact, it was the one who Hecathe had referred to as Xanie.

Xanie turned around and her eyes immediately widened in shock as she faltered a step back, "B-brother...?"

Hecathe had also heard this and he couldn't help but be just as shocked.

It seemed that Xanie was finally able to find that brother of hers and it was no other than this man who lived in LeiLei's old mansion.

When the shock had died down, Hecathe's eyebrows creased together in confusion.

As long as he remembered, Xanie's brother was also a mecha-suit who had no Zelium ability. However, Hecathe had been there when this man had used his ability to control LeiLei and Marvin, so he clearly knew that the same could not be said about him.

Was there something that Hecathe was unaware off...?

It was the start of a major war but Xanie still couldn't help but be distracted by the appearance of her brother.

Her eyes brimmed with tears and she immediately smacked the man's head.

"How could you just disappear like that?!" Xanie scolded him without any hesitation and for some reason, Hecathe wanted to laugh at this.

LeiLei also pursed her lips into a thin line as she saw this.

It turned out that the person who was ready to protect Psion was none other than his sister that he had once run away from.

Psion rubbed his head and chuckled awkwardly as he got ready to apologize to the woman, but in the very next moment, his eyes went blank and he raised his hand to grab Xanie's neck.

Xanie was not fast enough to stop him, but she was wearing her mecha-suit which made her able to easily overpower him.

Hecathe's eyes widened as he noticed the sudden change in the man's behavior.

"Well, so much for a touching reunion," It was Lara who commented with an amused sigh.

Xanie pushed Psion away and frowned as she looked at the man in confusion.

In the very next moment, Psion woke up from his daze and looked to be just as confused, but before anyone could explain to him what he had just done, the mecha-suit, who stood behind him, pointed a Zelium gun to his head.

Hecathe's eyebrows furrowed together as he immediately snapped his head towards Lara who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the situation.

"Stop it!" Hecathe cried out angrily as he glared at the girl.

"Hmm?" Lara glanced at Hecathe with a small smile as she hummed.

The mecha-suit didn't pull the trigger just yet but with a gun pointed at her brother's head, it was only natural that Xanie was panicking.

Hecathe's frown deepened as he got even more confused.

It was clear that Lara was the one controlling them and trying to kill Psion, and it had also been proven that Psion probably had no abilities. But if this was the case then what about the time when Hecathe had talked to the man and seen him use his ability...?

As Hecathe questioned himself, a dangerous thought crossed his mind and he couldn't help but feel a cold shiver run down his spine.

What if it hadn't been Psion who he had met...?

Hecathe gulped as he looked at the girl with an indecipherable expression plastered on his face.

If it was Lara who had given him the information, how reliable was the information, and what was her motive?

She was the one who had made Hecathe suspect all the three willows of spring, but that included her as well and there was no way somebody would purposefully try to create enemies.

This girl named Lara was really not an easy character to deal with...

"He works for you, doesn't he?" Hecathe asked with a small frown, "Are you sure you want to kill him off like this?"

Lara giggled as she heard this, "Alphius, you're really funny. You're the one that started this war. I'm just trying to do what is expected of me."

"..." There was nothing Hecathe say against that since it was the truth, but at the same time, he couldn't help but feel as if the girl was mocking him.

There was something really unsettling about this girl and if Hecathe were to put a finger on it, he would say that it was probably the fact that she had not been shocked by anything till now.

Even when the Dorgon came out, she smile as if she had expected it and the army of mutants also didn't seem to have fazed her.

She was a bit too calm and that really made Hecathe feel a little uneasy.

Lara smiled as she controlled the mecha-suit and made him shoot Psion.

However, luckily enough, Marvin had interfered and saved the man.

"I used to really look up to you," Marvin gritted out as he glared at the girl, "But it seems that I am really bad at judging people."

Lara nodded her head as she agreed with the boy, "You really are bad at it."

"..."

"But that's why we are standing here," Lara shrugged her shoulders as she spoke and this one sentence was able to reveal a lot about her.

At this moment, Hecathe's eyes narrowed down on her and he wondered just how much was it that she really knew.
