Chapter 168 - Because It's You

"Eh?" The Dorgon was a little confused to hear this, but he wasn't stupid and so, he asked, "Master, what the hell did you get yourself into this time?!"

Hecathe couldn't help but chuckle as he heard this.

"What makes you think I'm in trouble?" Hecathe asked.

"Because it's you," The Dorgon replied without even needing to think about it.

Hecathe pursed his lips into a thin smile but said nothing to defend himself since there was simply nothing that he could say as a defense. For some reason, it seemed like Hecathe really was getting himself in trouble every now and then.

Hecathe pulled the scruff of the Dorgon and the Dorgon immediately got the cue and took up a bit of speed.

He was clearly flying faster than an airplane but Hecathe was still not satisfied with it.

"Just how much faster do you want this emperor to go?!" The Dorgon questioned as he clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Fast enough to disappear," Hecathe answered as he pulled the Dorgon's scruff once again.

The Dorgon seemed to be a bit surprised as he heard this answer but although unwilling, he still increased the speed and flew even higher.

Hecathe was now controlling the Dorgon not through words but through his actions.

Pulling the Dorgon's scruff meant an increase in speed while pushing it down would mean a decrease in speed.

A single tap on the back of the neck would mean higher and a double-tap would mean lower.

Tapping the Dorgon with his right foot meant to go right while tapping the left side of the Dorgon with his left foot meant going left.

The Dorgon was not an idiot and was pretty easy to train compared to other animals. Hence, with just a single explanation and a few rounds of practice, the Dorgon was already well-versed in it and would unconsciously respond to these set signals.

Hecathe, on the other hand, was not that quick to catch on and although he was the one who made these signals in the first place itself, he was also the one who kept mixing the up and down signals.

But eventually, he managed to get it and they practiced for at least another hour.

"Master, you better get me some good meat after this. Don't keep feeding me those tasteless chickens," The Dorgon spoke and Hecathe chuckled as he nodded his head and agreed.

This Dorgon had never been to the open sky before this. He had been born in Hecathe's room and had never left that place so it was truly a bit surprising to see him be so good at flying.

Before they started this practice session, Hecathe was sure that he would need to teach the Dorgon how to fly first, however, thankfully enough, such a situation never arose.

The moment the Dorgon opened his enormous wings, it was already clear that this creature was much more amazing than Hecathe had ever imagined.

It took three months for a Dorgon to reach its adult size and it had been only two months since Hecathe had got this Dorgon so Hecathe knew that although the Dorgon was big currently, he was going to get even bigger in the future.

Even with the Dorgon's current size, Hecathe was left to wonder how this creature managed to hide away inside his room that was comparatively small.

There was a time when this creature was only as big as a full-grown dog and now he was as big as an adult elephant.

In fact, the Dorgon was not exactly as big or heavy as an adult elephant. It was the wings that gave such an illusion. Each of his wings was double the size of his body and since they were always folded when the Dorgon was inside Hecathe's room, Hecathe had never realized just how big these wings were.

Now that the wings were opened fully, they looked enormous and majestic, truly making one feel intimidated by just the aura that was created around the Dorgon. Hecathe could finally understand why Dorgon's were considered the ultimate rulers of all.

However, although Hecathe was surprised and fascinated by the wings and the creature's ability to fly without any lessons, he still didn't bother complimenting the Dorgon openly.

"Master, we are now flying over Zeblor," The Dorgon informed and Hecathe immediately glanced down only to see the clouds blocking his view.

Hecathe double-tapped on the back of the Dorgon's head and the creature immediately went a bit down, just enough to peek through the clouds.

Hecathe's eyebrows creased together as he looked at Zeblor.

Compared to its neighboring Ocasia, Zeblor was lacking a bit too much.

The land around looked empty and most of the trees had been cut to build houses for people.

Since this was the capital city, it was only natural that people would flock over, and in order to meet the demands of the people, the forest had to be half-destroyed. However, it wasn't just the forests that were absent, some parts of the city looked nothing lesser than a wasteland that had been used, destroyed, and abandoned.

From above, Hecathe could see one part of the city that was thriving. It had tall buildings and huge clean parks. All the houses were laid out in a manner that made them look planned and systematic.

However, along with this, he could also see the suffering wasteland.

The walls that covered the city were tall, so tall that no ordinary animal or man could even think about climbing them.

People had always considered Zeblor as heaven. It was supposed to be rich and prosperous with the nation's rulers living there. They thought the tall walls hid away the beauty of the place, but now that Hecathe was looking at the city from so up in the sky, he could clearly see that it had all been a lie.

The city was half destroyed and Hecathe couldn't help but feel pity for it.

"Master, this is what the three willows of spring have done to this world," The Dorgon scoffed as he spoke, "With the great war, they destroyed half of the previously beautiful rich heaven."

Hecathe gulped as he heard this and asked, "How do you know that?"

"I'm the great emperor. Is it really shocking for me to know such trivial stuff?" The Dorgon clicked his tongue as he asked.

It seemed that Dorgon's were tricky creatures. They learned about everything through absorbing information when they were still inside their eggs. And hence, when they grew up and finally came out of the egg, they were good enough to be proclaimed a ruler who knew everything.

It was certainly a bit fascinating to know more about these creatures.

"I wonder..." Hecathe muttered as he thought about something, "It seems that your kind really hates Humans."

"Can you blame us for that?" The Dorgon questioned without even waiting to let Hecathe finish his question.

"If you hate them so much, how come you have never tried to wipe them off completely?" Hecathe asked curiously and this time, the Dorgon was not that quick to answer.

"Are you just not that interested in doing something like that or is it because there is something stopping you?" Hecathe questioned as he added.

"Nothing good would come out of it even if we do go to war against humans," The Dorgon sighed as he finally spoke, "We are the emperors of the land. Our duty is to protect the natural order of things. Unfortunately enough, humans are also a part of that natural order so we would rather not get involved."

Hecathe couldn't help but chuckle softly as he heard this, "So you're just going to let them go?"

The Dorgon said nothing to that and their practice eventually came to an end as the day started getting darker.

It was already time for Marvin and LeiLei to return so it would definitely not be wise to practice right now.

Once they were done with the practice, Hecathe brought food for the Dorgon, and just as he had promised, it wasn't chicken this time, it was red meat.

The Dorgon looked to be pretty damn satisfied as he munched on the delicious food while Hecathe took out Alphius's diary and started writing in it.

He was planning on going down to the dining room in order to wait for the other two to come home, however, LeiLei burst into the room, kicking the door open out of her own free will, without even letting Hecathe peacefully complete the diary entry.

Hecathe frowned as he lifted his head and looked at the girl who had a bruise on her cheek.

"Did someone punch you?" Hecathe asked and the girl nodded her head as she confirmed this.

"Why?" Hecathe asked curiously as he closed the diary and kept it aside.

LeiLei was usually a good actress and not someone that could easily offend people, hence, it was a bit unnatural to see such a sight.

"I found the house," LeiLei revealed as she took a sharp breath in and Hecathe's eyes immediately widened in surprise.

"..."

So they really found it....?!
