Chapter 131 - Let's Go Do Something Fun

"By the way, why are we suddenly talking about such depressing stuff?" Hecathe sighed as he questioned.

"Raven started it," LeiLei responded as she blamed the boy who simply shrugged his shoulders.

"Where are we headed?" Marvin didn't bother continuing the topic as he questioned.

"Hmm..." Hecathe hummed but didn't give a response as he stopped in his tracks.

LeiLei and Marvin also came to a stop as they saw the man and were confused as they simply stood there, looking at the man expectantly.

"I thought you two were the ones leading," Hecathe spoke as he innocently blinked and looked at the two.

"..." Marvin was speechless as he heard this and LeiLei looked as if she couldn't believe her ears.

They had come out of the guild and they were walking aimlessly without any direction in mind.

"Sir, I thought you were taking us somewhere," LeiLei titled her head as she spoke in a questioning manner.

"No, I wasn't," Hecathe shook his head as he responded without any sense of hesitation, "Kelly looked like she was about to go crazy so we came out."

"..."

"But since we are already out, why don't we go and do something fun?" Hecathe's lips curled up in a small smile as he asked.

"Something fun?" Mavin and LeiLei repeated together as they looked at the man curiously, waiting for him to continue.

Hecathe took a deep breath in and nodded his head as he spoke, "Let's go and terrorize some people."

Marvin blinked as he repeated the man's words in his head and wondered if he had heard it right and LeiLei wondered if Hecathe had lost his mind suddenly.

"If it's something illegal then please leave me out of it," Marvin sighed as he spoke after taking a  minute to confirm that he had indeed heard it right.

"Sir, I'm okay even if it is something illegal but I won't be interested in killing anyone," LeiLei also responded with a thin smile plastered on her face.

Hecathe couldn't help but chuckle as he heard these responses that were laced with worry.

"It's not something illegal," Hecathe spoke as he reassured, "It's going to be fun so follow me if you want."

Hecathe turned and walked ahead after saying this much, leaving Marvin and LeiLei behind to make their choice on whether to follow him or not.

LeiLei gulped as she turned to look at Marvin who simultaneously turned to look back at her.

"You gonna follow?" Marvin asked with an expression that could not be deciphered.

LeiLei pursed her lips into a thin smile as she responded unhesitantly, "I'll follow him since we are partners."

Marvin pursed his lips into a thin line and with an unimpressed expression, he rolled his eyes as he stated, "Then I'll be following too."

LeiLei chuckled as she heard this response but didn't bother saying anything more as she ran ahead and caught up with Hecathe who was taking them to an unknown place.

Marvin sighed as he calmly walked, following the other two who were walking ahead.

He had a bad feeling about this but he was also curious to know what Hecathe had in mind so he couldn't help but follow the man.

After walking for thirty minutes or so, Marvin and LeiLei both came to the realization that Hecathe was headed out of the city, but they didn't bother asking about it and simply continued following the man with a small frown on their faces.

When they were out of the city gate, Marvin pulled LeiLei back and whispered a question near her ear, "Doesn't it seem suspicious?"

LeiLei nodded her head as she replied, agreeing with the man, "It almost feels as if he's about to kill us. The woods make a perfect ditching spot as well."

Marvin didn't agree with that theory because he knew that Hecathe wouldn't go through this much trouble just to kill them but he didn't bother saying anything to that either.

After walking for another ten minutes, LeiLei couldn't hold it in anymore and decided to question out loud, "Sir, where are we going?"

Hecathe's lips curled up in a small smirk but he didn't bother turning around as he responded to the girl, "Zeblor."

"Zeblor?!" Both LeiLei and Marvin had the same stunned reaction as they repeated the name and questioned whether they had heard it right or not.

Hecathe chuckled as he heard this expected response and the man nodded his head as he confirmed it, "That's right. We'll be terrorizing the outskirts of the city."

"..." Marvin gulped as he mentally concluded that Hecathe had probably lost his mind.

And even LeiLei felt the same, but compared to Marvin, LeiLei was much more open with her thoughts.

"Sir, you're going to get us killed."

Hecathe chuckled as he heard this and shook his head but didn't bother saying anything to that.

LeiLei had never gone to Zeblor before this, although the city was neighboring to Ocasia. However, even without having to go, the girl was still well aware of how dangerous it was.

Unlike Ocasia, Zeblor was the capital city that was directly ruled under the three willows of spring.

Unlike LeiLei, Marvin was basically raised in Zeblor and lived there for most of his life so he would naturally know the full extent of how dangerous it was going to be for them to randomly go to that damned capital.

"Hecathe, you have to be crazy," Marvin muttered out loud in disbelief as he looked at Hecathe's moving back that looked to be determined.

"The question isn't whether I'm crazy or not," Hecathe sighed as he spoke and side-glanced back at the two, "The question is whether you are crazy enough to trust me?"

Marvin gulped as he heard this question and the boy immediately understood that this was not a question that was to be answered on impulse.

LeiLei was yet to catch on to what Hecathe truly meant so the girl innocently nodded her head as she responded, "Of course, we trust you."

Hecathe chuckled softly and nodded his head in satisfaction as he heard this, but Marvin didn't dare be as careless as the girl.

"Stop wasting time on such questions," Marvin spoke up after a minute of contemplation.

"Hmm? So you trust me?" Hecathe raised his eyebrows as he asked and Marvin refused to give a straightforward response to that.

"What are you planning on doing? Isn't this too reckless?" Marvin questioned back as he avoided answering the question that had been thrown at him.

"Reckless?" Hecathe repeated as he pondered over it for a minute and nodded his head as he stated calmly, "It is indeed a bit reckless considering the fact that we are going to be inciting some enemies, but it might push things to work quicker."

"Push things to work... Quicker?" Marvin frowned as he repeated the man's words in a questioning manner.

Hecathe nodded his head as he added, "We need to find your father's killer fast, don't we? After all, the faster we find him, the faster everything would come to an end."

Marvin's eyes widened slightly as he understood Hecathe's true intentions. This man was planning a war... There was no doubt about it.

LeiLei was hearing all this for the first time so her eyes widened in shock as she repeated Hecathe's words in her mind and questioned out loud, almost shouting her lungs out, "You're hunting after the killer?!"

The girl already knew that Hecathe was hunting after someone that he often referred to as a 'whale' but till now, the girl was unsure about the real identity of this so-called 'whale'. Now that she heard this piece of information rolling out from Hecathe's tongue, she mentally put the pieces of the puzzle together and concluded that Hecathe was probably hunting after the killer to avenge Marvin's father.

Hecathe pursed his lips into a thin smile and nodded before sighing as he casually spoke, "Well, now you know."

LeiLei simply blinked as she heard this and her mouth hung open as the shock took time to settle in and fade away.

"LeiLei, you'll help us, won't you?" Hecathe asked as he glanced back at the girl and it was certainly the first time the man was asking for the girl's help.

Normally, he would always try to hire her with the lure of money but now that he was using a different strategy, LeiLei was even more surprised and speechless as she simply gulped in response, not knowing what to say to that.

"Be careful, he's trying to trick you," Marvin's eyes narrowed down on the man and he shook his head with a sigh in disbelief as he warned the girl beforehand, but even after having heard this warning, the girl didn't look to be that suspicious of Hecathe as she finally nodded her head without saying anything.

Hecathe smiled in satisfaction as he saw this response, "That's great."

Marvin felt his eyes twitch as he snapped his head towards the girl and commented, "What an idiot."

LeiLei, "..."
