Chapter 75 - Can't Get Out

Thankfully there was a bed in the room and there was a mattress on it as well.

Hecathe patted the mattress once and dust immediately rose up, filling the air and making him cough, but this was to be expected and Hecathe only covered his mouth as he patted the mattress a few more times and got rid of all the dust before covering it with a clean bedsheet and laying down on top of it to get some good sleep.

Even back in his real world, Hecathe was a person who didn't consider sleep as a priority. If he had work that needed to be done then he would give his work priority and only slept when there was nothing left for him to do.

This kind of habit was obviously bad for his health and he knew this well enough, however, it still didn't stop him.

Once his head hit the pillow, he was completely out and didn't even wake up when the Dorgon called him numerous times with the intention of annoying him in his sleep.

Just as Hecathe had instructed the Dorgon, the little Dorgon tried his best to get out of the shell but it was impossible for him to crack it and even when morning came around with the sun shining above, he was still stuck inside the shell.

"He's going to be mad," The Dorgon muttered with a sigh as he predicted the future.

Hecathe had only given him one job for the time being which was to get out of this eggshell and he wasn't even able to complete that one job so it was only natural that he thought Hecathe would be mad once he wakes up.

Dorgons were not creatures that were born with fear, however, this Dorgon child would certainly be lying if he said that he wasn't afraid to know what Hecathe would plan to do once he finds out that the Dorgon hadn't managed to get out of the egg.

The Dorgon prayed for Hecathe not to wake up but it seemed that the heavens really had no pity for this Dorgon. As soon as the prayer was said, Hecathe immediately opened his eyes and looked around before rubbing his eyes and taking his time as he stretched and woke up.

The Dorgon gulped in worry and went completely silent as he changed his prayer and now prayed for Hecathe to not notice him at all.

"You're still not out of there?" Hecathe yawned as he questioned and the Dorgon had the sudden urge to curse the heavens for hating him so much.

"Master, good morning," The Dorgon greeted with a delighted tone and Hecathe frowned as he stood up from his place and looked at the egg that was still kept on the table.

"I never understood why people eat eggs in the morning," Hecathe commented randomly and the Dorgon was left shocked and confused as he had trouble understanding what Hecathe wanted to say.

"I hope you're not a morning-egg person," The Dorgon chuckled awkwardly as he responded cautiously.

Hecathe smirked as he heard this and leisurely stretched his body without bothering to give the Dorgon a response.

After he was done stretching, he took out the toothbrush and paste that was kept in the suitcase and headed to the bathroom.

Once Hecathe was inside the bathroom, the Dorgon immediately started struggling as he tried his best to get out of the shell but the shell was too hard and strong.

Although Dorgons were powerful creatures that had strength in their developing body that was trapped inside their eggs, the biggest challenge for them was still breaking out of those eggshells.

A Dorgon egg was strong. So strong that it would probably not even be cracked if you dropped it from the rooftop of a four-storeyed building.

The reason why most people didn't know the incubation period of a Dorgon egg was mostly because there was no specific set incubation time period.

The incubation period could last from anywhere between two weeks to an entire month or even a year depending upon the individual Dorgon.

The Dorgon inside the egg only took two weeks to mature to a stage where it could come out of the egg but the little Dorgon would not be able to immediately come out since it lacked the power at that point in time.

The way to decide if the Dorgon was ready to come out to the world was a test and this test was done with the help of this hard shell.

If a Dorgon managed to come out on his own by breaking the shell, it could be said that the Dorgon was ready to come out and experience life, however, if the Dorgon was unable to break the shell on time, it was said that the Dorgon was still immature and weak.

It took Hecathe about half an hour to brush his teeth, take a shower, and get changed, however, even in that half an hour, the Dorgon was unable to break the shell.

When Hecathe came out of the bathroom, the egg went still once again as the Dorgon inside froze in fear of what the man might do.

"You're still not out?" Hecathe clicked his tongue as he questioned once again and the Dorgon gulped as he didn't dare give the man an answer.

Luckily enough, it didn't look like the man was waiting for an answer either.

Hecathe sighed as he made his way to the door and left the room.

The Dorgon was left speechless and confused in the room whereas Hecathe casually went down to get himself breakfast.

"Oh, dear!" The Landlady smiled as she saw the man coming down the stairs, "You woke up early."

Hecathe nodded his head as he responded, "I have a habit of waking up early."

He was certainly not lying.

Back in his real world, he had an alarm that was set for the same time every day and with time, even without the alarm clock ringing, it became Hecathe's habit to wake up at exactly around 6:30. The only times he didn't wake up were times when he would be having a nice long dream from which he didn't want to part.

"Do you have a knife?" Hecathe asked as if it was completely a normal question for someone to ask once they woke up.
