Chapter 32 - Let's Go

To say that the waiter was stunned to hear Hecathe would be an understatement. His mouth hung open in awe and his eyes looked to be in disbelief as he looked back at Hecathe.

Hecathe chuckled softly as he shook his head, "Let's go."

"Go...? Go where?" The waiter asked absentmindedly.

Hecathe pursed his lips together in a thin line as he looked back at the man and stayed silent for a minute.

"Don't you want to show me where this apartment owned by your aunt is?" Hecathe asked teasingly as he tilted his head.

The waiter gulped as he bobbed his head up and down. He closed his mouth and smiled as he informed, "Wait for me here. I'll be quick."

"Huh? Where are you going?" Hecathe asked with a frown on his face.

The waiter turned around and got ready to leave as he glanced back and answered, "I'll be back, just wait. I'll go and take a short break."

Hecathe's frown deepened but he nodded his head as he stood in place and waited for the man to return.

In just a few minutes, the waiter came back and this time, he was no longer wearing his work attire.

He was wearing black pants and a grey hoodie, looking much younger and a bit more informal as he walked up to Hecathe.

"You changed clothes?" Hecathe asked as he merely glanced down at the hoodie worn by the man.

The man nodded his head as he informed, "My boss said that I can take the rest of the day off."

"Oh."

"Let's go. Follow me," The man informed happily as he turned and started walking away.

Hecathe nodded and followed after the man without letting his guard down.

"Brother, I still don't know your name yet," Hecathe spoke up as he initiated a conversation.

"My name?" The man turned around and stopped in order to walk beside Hecathe as he answered, "You can call me Zail."

"Okay."

"What about you, sir?" Zail asked as he tilted his head and looked at Hecathe.

"My name? It's Heca-" Hecathe immediately stopped as he thought about his answer for a second. He was supposed to be Alphius in this world and at the same time, he was also trying to hide his identity so when he thought about it, maybe giving his real name was the best idea.

"Your name is... Heca...?" Zail repeated in confusion trying his best to remain polite as he heard the name that sounded as if it belonged to a house pet.

Hecathe coughed as he shook his head and informed, "That's not it. My name is Hecathe."

"Ah! You have the same name as that madman!" Zail exclaimed immediately and it made Hecathe choke as he questioned.

"What do you mean?" Hecathe asked cautiously as he prayed in his mind for it to not be the 'him' of this world.

"You haven't heard about him?" Zail asked as he looked back at Hecathe enthusiastically.

Hecathe simply shook his head as he lied, "I haven't."

"Wow! It's my first time seeing someone who hasn't heard about that lunatic. That Hecathe bastard surely deserved what was coming for him!" Zail didn't hold anything back as he openly cursed the man.

Hecathe didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this. He coughed again and cleared his throat as he asked, "Why don't you tell me what he did?"

"Ah! He was a close friend to Captain Orgon's son."

Hecathe immediately frowned as he questioned, "Marvin Orgon?"

Zail nodded his head as he confirmed, "That's him. Hecathe was Marvin's one and only friend. Well... As long as you don't count Alphius in."

"Eh?" Hecathe couldn't help but be a little shocked as he heard this.

"It all started a few years ago when they were all still young. Alphius was always socially awkward and preferred to stay at home. Marvin and Hecathe were the ones that were closer to each other. They would hang out together all day in Alphius's house and the three were oddly considered to be great friends. At one point in time, they were even called the troublesome three."

"They were all close?" Hecathe muttered to himself in disbelief.

He had certainly read all about their friendship from the diary but to think that people from outside knew about their relationship as well...? It was a bit shocking...

"But then I guess they had an argument. As they grew up, their beliefs started shifting. Alphius... Well, Alphius started disregarding human life and focused all his time and energy on creating those mecha-suits that could one day destroy this world. Marvin was pretty close to his father so it was only natural that he followed his father's beliefs. He wanted to simply grow up and become a leader of a battalion just like his father."

Zail scoffed as he continued, "And Hecathe. He was the craziest. He actually wanted to recreate abilities. What nature had gifted us, he wanted to make it and sell it. He wanted to become God!"

Hecathe frowned as he low-key tried to defend himself, "He was ambitious?"

Zail chuckled dryly as he shook his head and clearly showed his dislike for the mentioned man, "He was nothing more than a madman that was hungry for money and wanted to become God."

Hecathe couldn't help but gulp as he suddenly heard this.

There was no doubt about it...

Hungry for power and money? Wanting to be considered God?

Although Hecathe wasn't exactly like that, he was still considered to be such a man by other people.

The Hecathe of this world certainly had the same personality and beliefs as this current Hecathe.

"So... What happened to him?" Hecathe asked a bit reluctantly, even though he knew the true story.

"He died a tragic death," Zail answered without any emotions, "That bastard deserved it."

"He died?" Hecathe's eyes narrowed down on the man as he gulped and asked, "How?"

"Ripped apart by an army of mutants."

"..."

The truth had surely been deeply buried behind all the rumors and lies....
