Cyril passed her the quiver as she secured it on her left shoulder. It wasn't heavy at all, nor was it uncomfortable. Cyril loaded her quiver with half a dozen of sleek arrows. That's when she noticed her initials engraved on them, 'EH' in a lovely cursive pattern. "Woah... You even customized it?" She asked, her tone filled with admiration. "Yep." Cyril answered snobbishly.

After her quiver and bows were in place, he handed her the bow. It too, was light weight and the grip was also amazing. Emily positioned herself as she aimed for the target 20 meters away. When she was finally satisfied with her aim, she let go of the arrow. It sliced through the air and pierced into the target in a matter of milliseconds.

"8 points. Not bad!" Cyril nodded his head in satisfaction. "It isn't that easy to adjust to new equipment, but you seem to do just fine. Some more practice and you'll be shooting like a pro."

Emily pulled out another arrow and placed it in the bow, aimed, and shot. "10 points! Wicked." Cyril commented, and made a remark at every shot. When she had shot all the arrows, Cyril summed up the total points, "50 out of 60 points, you are ruthless." Emily smiled, as they headed off to collect the arrows.

He removed one of the arrows from the target and showed it to Emily, "See, not a scratch, perfectly sharp."

The bell rang, first class was over. "Oh, I should be going now or I'll be late for math class. And... Thank you so much for this present!" She said gleefully and give him a quick hug before dashing off to class.

She made sure that no one was there and went to the girls toilet to hide her priceless gift, as it'll attract too much attention. If you're wondering how will she manage to hide the dazzling item in a 'washroom', then, you should know, that the last cubicle was out of order and was locked so that no one could use it or even open it. So, that's why Emily speculated it was the safest place to keep it (because the lockers were too small to place such a big bow).

She climbed onto the toilet of the cubicle adjacent to the 'out-of-order' cubicle. Carefully and quietly climbed over the top and safely landed into the empty space were old, used mops, buckets and whatnot were lying. Ugh, she thought. I'll go home and clean this package thoroughly. Heavy-hearted, she placed the massive box and was ready to climb back when she heard noises. A group of girls talking loudly, entered the washroom. One of them was talking the loudest, it was Ivy.

Enemies are bound to meet on a narrow road.

"Seriously, did you see that? What on earth was she carrying?" Ivy exclaimed, annoyed. Uh-oh, looks like someone saw her. "I don't know, maybe it was an instrument, why do you care, don't stress yourself out over small matters. You know she's dumb, and does everything to be the center of attention!" The rest of them chided in. "She can't be as talented and as beautiful as you are, that's for sure."

Emily rolled her eyes.

They were actually kissing her feet just to curry favor for their personal gains. Everyone in GCA knew her father held an important position, so making connections with her could help them whenever needed. And Ivy wasn't naive either, she clearly knew their intentions, but she just pretended to play along and act all mighty. Loving all the attention, she would even order them around. Afraid of offending her, they would quietly listen to her commands and scoldings, while cursing her in their hearts.

It was taking longer than expected. Emily started to get uneasy and her elbow lightly knocked a mop which fell over a bucket, making a loud sound. The chattering of the girls stopped. "Who's there?!" Ivy screeched. There came no response. On of them pushed open the cubicle through which Emily had gone to the locked up cubicle. "All of the cubicles are empty. What if... There's a mouse?!!" Another one yelped and the rest of them also started screaming and rushed out at once, dragging Ivy with them.

Emily waited a short while before jumping back and finally dashing towards her math class.

The rest of her day was pretty boring as Linda was not around anymore, she would drift off during classes and would be reprimanded by her teacher many times. It was their last year at GCA anyways, after that Emily would finally be free and focus on her career, which was to be an athlete. These days she had been focusing on archery than any other games, and had developed greater interest in it.

Hmmm... I want to be a professional archer. She would sometimes think. Being an athlete was a general term, and she wanted to choose a game that suits her capabilities. Archery pretty much fitted that criteria.

Finally, the day was over and she went home quite late as she had to wait while majority of the students were gone, so that she could take that enormous present home without being noticed. She had a lot of stuff in her mind. Since the day Linda had left, her routine everyday was pretty much the same.
