28 Start Of A Difficult Day

Saturday was a normal peaceful day. She spent the entire day studying and taking care of her mom along with the house. Finally, it was night time and they all went to bed early, so as to start the new week with energy and positivity.

However, Emily did not have a comfortable night at all. She kept tossing and turning all night, and when she finally fell asleep, she had nightmares. It was so hot and suffocating.

She jerked out of her dreams and sat up, drenched in sweat and panting for breath. Why was it happening? Is the next week going to be a bumpy ride? Thinking about this, she leaned back and sighed. Her brain was in a mess. She would be able to concentrate at all the next day.

Checking the time, she frowned. She only had half an hour before she has to officially wake up for college. Her head was aching from not getting enough sleep last night. She dragged herself into the washroom and splashed cold water on her face. Huh, no use. She felt just as drowsy as before.

She slowly changed into her uniform and went downstairs, seeing her mom working in the kitchen, quite fresh. Alicia turned around, "Good mo-" She stopped midway by the looks of Emily. She has dark patches underneath her eyes, which where red and half closed, while her face was pale.

She was neatly dressed, but one look of her face and one might even be scared. Emily yawned, "What?" Alicia sighed, "Just look at yourself, you probably didn't sleep well last night. Go back and take some rest. You are not going today."

Emily just wanted to run to her room and hug her pillow and sleep comfortably, but she prepared so well for the history test today! It would go to waste, she had to give the test to ensure that she has learnt it properly. "No! I will go today!" She replied, sleepily and stubbornly. Alicia pinched her eyebrows, "You have a lot of time, and it's too early. Rest on the couch, wait for Chris to get ready as well."

Without being asked twice she fell on the couch and dozed off.

She was woken after half an hour by Chris's voices. She was still dizzy but started her way to college anyways.

They met Aiden near the gates. "Please take her to her classroom! She's so sleepy, she might as well enter the wrong class!" Chris complained as he ran away. Aiden looked over at Emily, she was treading through the grounds as if she were drunk.

Finally Aiden arrived in the class, holding Emily by her arm. He placed her near Linda. Looking at her, Linda got worried. "What the hell! What was she doing last night? Oh my gosh, did she go to a night club?" Aiden exhaled deeply, "Don't worry! She didn't sleep well last night." Saying this he turned around and went to his desk.

She stared at Emily for a while, she then knocked on her head exclaiming, "Hey! Are you nuts? Why didn't you take a day off?" Emily jerked up, and sat straight, trying her best to keep her eyes open.

Ivy passed by, she sneered, "Hah, look at you, you look hideous! Looks like you snuck out last night somewhere? Am I correct?" Emily did not hear her but she glared at her. Ivy further snickered, "Humph, looks like I was right! You really are a filthy brat. Your parents might not even know, how shameful." She put on a fake pitiful expression and left.

Linda shook her head angrily and dragged her to the girls' washroom. There she applied some light make-up to conceal her eye bags. Her face was dry, therefore it took her some time to put on a natural looking make-up on her face. After she was done, she admired her work.

Maybe, one day, I can start my own beauty salon!

She quickly threw her thoughts away and slapped Emily's face lightly, "Hel-lo! Look who's behind you! Come on now, don't be shy, and say hi to Aiden!"

Emily quickly turned around.

Hey, I'm in the washroom, why would Aiden be here? Wait, what! I was tricked!

Linda chortled silently. Emily glared at Linda, but she grabbed her and went running to the class room. Damn it! We must be late! She thought helplessly.

The two of them burst inside, finding the teacher to be giving a lesson. Emily and Linda's heart froze. Oh no, we're doomed.

The teacher gave them a black look and inquired, "Where were you two? Don't you know class has started? Are you looking for trouble?" Being a shy and gentle girl, Linda was about to have an emotional breakdown from all those questions. She summoned up the courage and replied meekly, "Emily was not feeling well, so I went with her to the washroom!"

The teacher fell silent, she was just too moody and arrogant. She would never tolerate when a student would reply back. Linda was well aware, but she had no choice!

The teacher barked, "You dare reply back! You think too much of yourself, you spoilt child. Huh, what do you mean sick, she looks perfectly fine! Are you trying to fool me? Do I look like an idiot to you?" She pointed towards Emily.

Okay, I have to say, my make-up skills are extraordinary.

"But…" Emily this time tried to speak in the most polite way possible, but was cut by the teacher as she howled, "No buts! I don't want to see you two in my class, go away, straight in front of the counselor's office!"

Linda's eyes started to pour down like a waterfall. She was never accused wrongly in her life and this was too much. The teacher ordered Ivy to send them off to the office.

Yeah, right.
