Chapter 170 - TO THE PACK HOUSE

[KYLE'S POV]

The moment we got off the plane I saw that there was a massive line of vehicles waiting for us. These were also set up by the man who had procured the plane for us. They were all black SUVs that looked like they were part of some secret service envoy or something like that. They were fine though, because they would do what we needed them to, and that was all that mattered.

"We are here to take you to your destination." The drivers were vampires, and all of them were dressed nearly identical. The driver in the lead was the one that spoke. "We have been informed of the situation. We will drive you, but we will not aid you in any other way."

"That's fine." I nodded at him as I went to sit in the first SUV.

All four dozen of us piled into our seats and we were off immediately. I didn't want this to take any more time than was necessary. I wanted to find my wife and make sure she was OK, then, I wanted to kill that asshole that took her from me. He was going to pay. And if he touched her at all, I was going to make him wish that he was only dying.

The drive from the airstrip to the edge of the pack lands wasn't far, it didn't take us long to get there at all. But unfortunately, there were four men stationed near the road into their territory. This pack was small enough that they had their entire group living in one small village near the city. It was like a compound that was exclusively werewolf territory.

The men, upon seeing the long envoy of SUVs approaching, blocked the road into their lands.

"Who are you and what do you want?" The man who seemed to be the leader of the four of them yelled out to us. I opened my door and so did Deek who was sitting next to me in the middle row of the vehicle we were in. He had warned me that this might happen when he started to guide us on our way.

"Hello there, Gregory." Deek called out as the two of us made our way to the man who had spoken.

"Why, if it isn't Deek. What brings you back here? Didn't you abandon us years ago?"

"We're here to rescue Jacy. I would suggest that you let us through." Deek spoke firmly as he looked the man in the eyes. I had known when I first met him that Deek was a strong man. There was no doubting that at all. And seeing him here, right now, as he pushed his strength and dominance onto the other man was an impressive sight.

"What are you talking about, Deek? Jacy left over ten years ago, not long after you left. She isn't here." The man, Gregory, scoffed at Deek's words.

"I assure you, Gregory, she is here. Victor came to Boston and attacked her and brought her back here. Wasn't there a point recently when he and several others left the pack for no reason at all. Possibly for several days on end?" Deek's words seemed to shock the four men that were standing before him, as I watched all of their eyes went wide and a couple of them even had their mouths hanging open in surprise.

"Are you telling me the truth, Deek? If so, why is there a feline with you?"

"I am Jacy's mate." I told him, answering instead of Deek. "I am her mate, her husband, and the father of her child. Our daughter is only three weeks old, and I will bring my wife home to her."

"Prove it." Gregory snapped at me. "Do you think that I would just believe the words you have to say?" He didn't look like he trusted me at all.

"Is this proof enough?" I asked him as I pulled my wallet from my pocket and flipped it open to show the picture that I had there. It had been a fight to get but it was a snapshot of me, Jacy and Maya all together. It showed me the happy family that we were and that I would bring back for us.

"Th..th..that really is Jacy." He said looking at her in the picture. I am guessing that she hadn't really changed.

"That's right. And your Alpha took her from my home. He left my baby there and I am assuming that, after he attacked her with more men than she could handle, he threatened my daughter's life. That would have been the only thing that would make my Jacy stop fighting them. She is here because she was protecting our baby. I know that is the case." I was rambling a little bit. I knew that, but I couldn't stop myself. I was doing my best to not lose control right now, but it was really, really hard.

"None of us have ever respected Victor as our Alpha." One of the men in the back responded.

"Hush." Gregory snapped at the man. "That is enough."

"It's the truth." Another of the men spoke. "If he went and kidnapped the person who should have been our Alpha just so he could bring her back here, then you know that he doesn't have good intentions. He is going to do something truly reprehensible, if he hasn't already."

"He better not have." I growled. "I will make his death that much worse."

"So, you're threatening to kill the Alpha of this pack to our faces?" Gregory laughed at me. "That's bold."

"It's only bold if you're planning on stopping me." I glared at him. "Are you planning on stopping me?" I raised a brow at him as if daring him to say yes.

"Abso- fucking -lutely not." Gregory shook his head with a grin. "I hate that asshole, but no one has been able to win a challenge against him yet, so he is still in charge."

"I will win against him." I promised him as I gave a feral grin. "I will win, and then I will kill him alongside my mate."

"Sounds like a plan to me." One of the men in the back grinned while responding.

"Are the four of you going to fight with us or just step aside?" Deek asked the men, specifically Gregory. I saw the light in Gregory's eyes shift as he thought about that.

"You know what, I think we will help you out. You need my keys to get you to the pack house as it is."

"Good."

Following that, the four men dispersed themselves through the SUVs and we continued our way into the territory unhindered. The pack house was about another seven or eight miles from the point where the road had been blocked off. As we drove on, I saw that there were several curious faces looking out through the windows that we passed. It looked like many of them were afraid of something, too afraid to come out of the house as they saw what looked like an impending military strike or something with all these matching SUVs.

The house that came into view was like almost any other pack house that there ever was. It was a large, vaguely castle-looking structure that looked like it had been fashioned after nineteenth century mansions. All the ones in the United States basically looked the same. Or at least, all the ones that I had ever seen before.

Deek and I got out first with Gregory close behind. We waited for him to take the lead and unlock the front door of the house. This was where we were going to be fighting the battle that we came for. This was where the entire show was going to take place. This was the moment that I had been waiting for.

I looked behind me and saw that everyone else had exited the SUVs and was ready to strike. Fifty-two of us now since we had gained four more at the entrance. This was going to be more than enough. I just knew that it was.

"Mr. Donovan, we will take our leave now. Here is my card. Call us when you need to leave here." The lead driver spoke in a calm and pleasant manner as he handed me the card with his cell phone number on it. "Take care." He waved then and drove away. That was fine. We would take care of business here and then we would call them to take us back to the plane. I wanted to be back home before the morning. Jacy, Maya and I would be back together as a family again really soon.

"Alright men, let us go." Gregory said as he swung the door open. This was it. It was go time.

The first thing that I saw when I went inside was a dozen men sitting around the entrance hall. It was like they were told to protect the place but never actually believed that they needed to do it for real. Following that there was a bloodcurdling scream coming from somewhere further in the house. I just knew that wherever that scream came from, that was where my Jacy was.

"Jacy!" I said her name as if it were a shield and a spell of defense. I would fight my way through this to her.

"Kyle, you go to Jacy, don't stop until you find her. We will take care of these people." Lucian called out behind me just before he shifted into his bear form.

"That's right, find her and make sure she is safe." Bastian added as feathers spread across his face.

"Go." Laremy's words rounded them out as his eyes started to glow red and his fangs descended. Well, I guess it was time to listen to them.
