Chapter 130 - RECEPTION PART 1

I had literally been shaking throughout the entire wedding ceremony. I had barely been able to get half of the words out of my mouth. Honestly, I don't even know why Kyle didn't break it off with me right then and there. I mean, how could he want to marry someone that was so scared to marry him?

OK, in all fairness and honesty, I wasn't afraid to marry him; I was just nervous in general right now. This, all of this, getting married, having a mate, being pregnant, I never expected that I would have any of it. I had given up on that life for myself. And now look at me. In the course of three months, maybe a little more, I had all of it.

I had literally stumbled upon a mate that wanted me so bad he followed me across the country just to make sure that I was safe. And now, I had a baby on the way that I honestly thought that I would never want, but now I do. I was getting married and celebrating this moment with the only people I can consider my family. In truth, it was a little more than I could process at times.

And right now I was walking under a cloud of confetti that everyone who had come to the wedding was throwing at me and Kyle. It made it look like I was somehow being transported through time and space to some other dimension. I was going to a place where I would become Jacy the wife, and I would no longer be Jacy the bounty hunter. And soon I would transmigrate again, into a different world where I would be Jacy the mom.

I had to wonder if I would even be a good mom? Or would I be such a horribly bad mother that my kid would die? Or would my baby need to develop supernatural animal instincts at a very young age so that they could run away from me? Honestly, even though I was starting to look forward to being a mom and having a kid, I was still scared shitless because of it.

These were the thoughts that were racing through my mind as Kyle led me across the yard and to the table that was meant for the bride and groom.

"You look beautiful today, Mrs. Donovan." Kyle leaned over and whispered in my ear while he was guiding me along. "I have wanted to tell you that since the moment I saw you. I know you don't like dresses much, but you look drop dead sexy in them." There was a heat to his voice that told me he was telling me the truth about that last part. He wanted me, and it was still too early for him to do anything about it.

"Yeah, well, you better make it worth me wearing this infernal thing twice." I countered, my nerves flying away as I joked back with him.

"Oh, don't worry my love, I will. There isn't anything that I wouldn't do for you tonight. And since you have two weddings, you get two wedding nights." The purr in his voice was pure desire.

"That sounds nice. But I don't want to get bored, you better spice them up." I winked at him when he turned to look at me.

"There's the sexy little vixen that I know." He laughed. "Have I told you yet that I am overjoyed to be married to you now. I can't imagine a better wife than you."

His words hit a little close to what I have been freaking out over lately. Did EZ tell him? No, when would he have had time? He was with me up until the wedding started. Did Kyle truly mean that? Could he truly not picture a wife that was better than me?

"Don't you want a wife that can cook better than me? Or clean better?" I wondered as he pulled my chair out for me.

"Why? We can cook together, and you will learn over time. And you're not a messy person, why would you need to clean better than you do? You're perfect the way that you are." I couldn't help but smile at that. Kyle truly was the sweetest sometimes.

Once we were seated, and everyone else had taken their places, Laurell walked to the center of the dance floor that had been set up. She was the hostess of this whole wedding and was moving things along their intended path.

"I think I speak for everyone here when I say that Jacy and Kyle's ceremony was beautiful. Bechard, my love, you were wonderful in your role as officiator. And Jacy, my sweet Jacy, you look so beautiful today. I always knew this day would come, from the day that I met you I knew that you would find your true love and bring him home to meet us. I am so glad to be considered part of your family and to be part of this day. You have no idea how much this means to not just me but all of us. Bechard, Sapphire, Emerald, Amethyst, and of course Ezekiel. We wouldn't miss this day for anything Jacy; we will always be there for you, no matter what."

"Thank you, Mom." I didn't call her that often, but now was definitely a time that warranted it.

"We love you, Jacy, all of us do. And you, Kyle, thank you for being there for her. She may not have been born into our family, and she isn't our blood, but we love her like she is one of ours. That means we want what is best for her. There is no doubt in my mind, Kyle, that you are what is best for my Jacy." Was it just me, or did everyone I know call me their Jacy? That was a little strange, but I just let it slide.

"Thank you, Laurell. I am happy to have been accepted as part of your family." Kyle nodded at her with a big smile on his face. It was nice that they all got along as well as they did. It made things a lot easier for me anyway.

"Now, I know that there are a couple people who want to give speeches. Winston, Kyle's Best Man and cousin, and my Ezekiel, who is Jacy's Maid of Honor. We will start with Winston first."

Laurell held the microphone out for him, and he walked over to take it from her.

"Thank you, Mrs. Horne." He smiled at her and then looked at me and Kyle. "Well, this is a day that I thought would never come. Kyle had said he would never settle down until he found the perfect woman for him. I guess he found that in you, Jacy. And I couldn't be happier about that. Ever since Kyle's parents died ten years ago, he has been mostly alone. I am glad now that he has someone there with him, someone to call his family. He needs you Jacy, more than you could ever know. Thank you for being there for Kyle. I know your mom here just thanked Kyle for being there for you and all that, but I want you to know that me, my wife, and everyone one of us back home, we're happy that you and Kyle have finally found each other, and that you can both be happy together. I can't wait to have cheesy family dinners with you guys and do all that stuff that families will normally do. I love you guys!" Winston almost looked like he was about to cry when he handed the microphone back to Laurell.

"That was lovely, Winston. Thank you." Laurell and the gathered guests all applauded the speech as Winston went to take his seat.

Once the applause died down, and the guests were once again waiting patiently, Laurell began to speak again.

"Next, my son, Ezekiel, would like to make a speech. He is the reason why Jacy is a part of our family. Jacy, the kind soul that she is, saved my son from a group of thugs when he was in his first year of college. You all know that Ezekiel is not conventional; he is a genius though, and he started school at such a young age. I don't even like to think about what could have happened to my baby if it hadn't been for Jacy. And ever since that day, Ezekiel and Jacy have been the best of friends. They are truly like siblings. I know that they would both do anything to protect each other and help each other. That alone melts my heart just thinking about it." Laurell actually placed a hand over her heart then and smiled softly. It was like she could feel that organ melting right then. "Now, without further ado, Ezekiel will give his speech that he has prepared for Jacy."
