Chapter 114 - DREAMS

I stared at the ring the entire way that we drove home. I couldn't get over the feeling that I had seen the ring before. I felt like I had not only seen it before, but worn it before.

And, I think I knew right where it had come from. It felt like it was the same ring that had been in my dream about the future. The dream that had been of me and Kyle around Halloween time. I had been married to him, and we were enjoying our life as a married couple. And it was getting really close to when the baby was supposed to come.

The bad thing is, that had also been when my cousin found me. Was it just my nerves? Was this ring just a generic ring that looked nothing like the one in the dream? Was I just letting the stress of the situation get to me? Or was it all real?

I didn't want to be the type of person that acted like every dream was a prediction of what was to come, but the truth was that we couldn't really ignore our dreams either. Dreams hold merit, especially to a shifter.

When a shifter completely ignores a dream is when they end up dead. Especially if that dream ends up showing signs of coming true. The problem with this right now was that I didn't know for sure if I was right or not, and that was bugging the shit out of me. I mean, it was just a simple ring, nothing extravagant or overly complicated. It could have been different. Yet, it could have been identical.

Dammit!

Should I tell Kyle about this? I probably should. I had just agreed to marry him after all; didn't that mean that we were supposed to share this kind of thing? Didn't that mean that he needed to know?

Maybe I would talk to Lucian about it first. Or maybe I would get Lucian, Laremy, and Bastian all together and talk to them all at once. And I might as well finish off the gang and get EZ as well. If I didn't get his opinion, then I would just end up getting an earful of it later.

I didn't want to wait long to talk to them, but obviously it wasn't going to happen tonight, since it was already after midnight when Kyle had asked me to marry him. Tonight, all we were going to do was go home and sleep. And probably celebrate getting engaged. Come on, I may be pregnant already, but that didn't stop either of our sex drives. If anything, it made us want to have each other more. It was consequence free now.

When morning came I was up first. I hadn't been able to sleep much because I had been plagued by the same dream from before. I saw me and Kyle in our living room drinking hot chocolate. I don't know if that was what we had in the last dream, but that was it this time. I also don't know if the room was the same, or if I was seeing where we lived now because it was our place that we had together.

In the dream, we had been working on carving pumpkins and took a break. The half finished jack-o-lanterns were on the counter, and Kyle had said something that made me laugh. I laughed and looked at the ring, which was identical to the one that I had gotten during the proposal. There was a small, thin white gold band next to the engagement one in my dream. That would be the wedding band to go with the engagement ring.

And just like before, the door burst in. The same sequence of events happened just like it had in the previous dream. Dammit! I wish I knew if I drudged this up and made it happen because of my nerves, or if it was really the same ring, and I was just remembering it all properly.

I had woken with a start before the sun came up and wasn't able to fall back to sleep, so I got up. After that, I decided to just go to the kitchen to try my hand at making breakfast for Kyle. It was high time for him to learn just what kind of wife he was getting. I wasn't going to let him say that he wasn't informed well in advance.

I wasn't a horrible cook, not at all. However, when I compared my cooking with my mate's, it was definitely subpar. There was no ifs, ands, or buts about it. That was just the plain and simple truth.

I made him some fried eggs, toast, bacon, pancakes, and coffee. He could yell at me all he wanted, my cup was nearly gone by the time that he came out of the room so he couldn't keep the caffeine from me.

"Mmmm. You made breakfast." He came up behind me and wrapped his hands around my waist while putting his chin on my shoulder.

"Yup, I couldn't sleep anymore so I thought I would be useful for a change." I joked with him.

"I have better uses for you, Jacy." He purred into my ear. "And why are you drinking coffee?" There it was, there was that stern voice that was already scolding me for breaking his rules.

"Because I was tired as hell and thought I would need it for the day. Besides, even doctors say a woman can have a cup a day." I grinned as I brought the cup to my lips and savored the flavor of the drink.

"You're an evil temptress." He smirked at me.

"Yup."

We ate our breakfast together at the table for once. We had been eating in the bedroom for so long that I honestly thought Kyle had forgotten we had a dining table. Also, he said the food was good, but I know he was just being kind. His face was a little telling. I loved him for it though. He was such a nice guy.

After we finished eating and Kyle left for work, I decided to see if my four consultants were free at any time today. Preferably they would be free at the same time today, and luckily they were. I was able to meet them for a late lunch or early dinner. It would push back having dinner with Kyle though, but he texted back saying that he didn't mind, and he would see me at home after it. He would probably work late or something.

The meal was nothing special, just the diner since it needed to fit into the schedule of everyone at the same time. After we all got our food, they all looked at me, but it was EZ who got the ball rolling.

"All right, sweetheart, spill it." He was never easy when it came to me.

"Well, I wanted to ask you all if I should tell Kyle something. Since most of you are shifters, you would know about what I am going to be talking about."

"This sounds like it's going to be interesting." EZ grinned at me. "I can't wait to see what this issue is." The other three just stared at me with curiosity, two shifters and a vampire.

"We're listening." Lucian finally answered me.

"Alright, here it goes." I took a deep breath and told them about the dreams, both of them. And of course, I told them about the ring. I had looked at the table the entire time that I was talking to them, not sure I wanted to see what looks they had on their faces. When it was done though, I had no choice.

I lifted my head and looked. I saw that Bastian looked about the same as usual. Laremy looked as if it was all just a little bit of a joke. EZ was smirking, most likely focusing on the wedding aspects of it all. Lucian though, he was the one who was looking very angry about what he had heard.

"Jacy." His low growling voice told me the extent of his anger. "Why didn't you mention the dream the first time?"

'Well, to be honest, there was a lot of stuff that happened right after it." I tried to pass it off as not being my fault.

"I don't want to hear that shit. Important things need to be discussed at all times, no matter what."

"I know that, Lucian. I just didn't get around to it."  I growled at him. "I had intended to talk to someone about it; I just never did."

"Alright, fine, but now you are not sure if you should tell him. That is bullshit!" Lucian was beyond pissed.

"I agree with him, Jacy. You need to tell him." Bastian agreed.

"Even I agree." Laremy looked at Bastian. "And I never agree with that feather head."

"What about you, EZ? What do you think?" I asked my best friend.

"I think that, no matter what happens, I have a wedding to plan." He giggled.

Of course that was what he was focusing on. That flamboyant little queen, I love him so much!
