Chapter 49 - THE TIDES TURN

The man directly in front of me was a wolf, he was at least four inches taller than me and reeked of drugs. Too bad he wasn't high right now, it would have slowed his reaction time at least a little bit.

The man went straight for my throat. He was aiming for a kill rather than incapacitating me. I ducked under his hands and uppercutted him right in his solar plexus. I heard him grunt in pain as I struck him.

The force of my punch caused him to change course and he ended up flying into the man that was coming up behind me. The two of them tumbled to the ground together and became a tangle of limbs and angry growls.

Two men came at me at the same time now, one from each side. I was already crouched so I just lowered my stance a little and swept my leg out in a circle. I caught them both as they were charging forward and caused them to fall, one right after the other. Once the two of them were on the ground I grabbed them on the sides of their heads, opposite sides that is. With my grip in their hair I brought their skulls together with a loud thud that echoed throughout the area. I immediately saw blood welling from where they had collided.

With a quick double elbow drop to their chests I was temporarily done with the two that were laying at my feet. I still had several others to deal with. I rose to my feet and spun to face the oncoming attackers, and that is when things turned against me and stopped moving in my favor.

It's not like it was all that much in my favor to begin with. Not to mention, I could already feel myself running out of energy. What the hell was that about?

I wasn't expecting five men to be standing behind me. I hoped for no more than three when I was going to fight this next wave. I was momentarily stunned that they had cooperated while my back was turned. This was not going to go my way and I already knew it.

Two of the men jumped at me and went high while two others lunged toward my legs, taking the low path. They had planned this, it wasn't just a coincidence. The other man hanging back looked like he was pleased and just waiting for his moment.

I couldn't evade them all at once. I tried but I failed. While I was spinning around to try and get away from them I felt all four of them crash into me, one after the other. I had been hit with such a tremendous force that I felt my body leave the ground.

I was airborne for a long time, it felt like forever before the five of us hit the ground together. The four of them were piled on top of me and all the air had been pushed from my lungs.

I didn't know if it was from fighting the other men but I felt like I was nearly out of strength right now too. I should have been able to push them off of me and continue fighting but I was far too exhausted and I suddenly felt weak. There was also a fresh wave of nausea coursing through my body.

I had to fight back the urge to purge my body of whatever it said I needed to get out of me. I needed to stay strong. I needed to get the lead back here. I needed to get these assholes off of me. But It was no use, I could barely move my arms right now.

"It looks like you're finally going to get what you deserve, baby cuz." I heard Matthew laughing from near the house. "Don't worry, I won't let them hurt you too badly, Victor still wants you to be brought back home. He's been looking for you for so long."

"Fuck you." I spat the words at him, hoping they, along with my fighting spirit would give me enough energy to get out of this situation.

"No, I'll leave that to them." He chuckled again. "I will go inside and wait for them to be done."

I heard Matthew's footsteps retreat then as the man who had hung back walked over to me. He was wearing a happy sort of grin on his face, but it was a look that made my skin crawl.

"I finally get to play." He had an evil look in his eyes. A look that told me that he was anticipating everything that was about to happen. "I'm not usually given free range on my type of fun, you know, since it's so hard to get a willing partner."

"I'm not a willing partner either, you sick freak." I snarled and spit at him.

"You came to this property of your own accord, didn't you? That's willing enough for me."

"Don't fucking touch me." I screamed at him as the men that had been holding me in place moved off of me but still held my arms and legs down. They each pinned one limb to the ground.

The man who was sneering at me was another shifter, a bear like the first one. And he looked even bigger and stronger than the one they called the boss. I thought he was the strongest bear among them since he had been the boss but I guess I was wrong.

This man had jet black hair and eyes so dark brown that I almost mistook them for black at first sight. His arms were bulging sickeningly with muscles that were so thick he looked disgusting. His shirt was sleeveless, the better to show off his body builder look and I could see that he was already aroused and excited at the thought of taking someone against their will.

I wasn't about to let this happen to me though, I needed to fight as best as I could.
