41 Chapter 40

*Buford's POV*

As I walked toward Acadia, I heard Remey whisper harshly "You did this to her, you were the last one in there" he accused.

I couldn't tell him any different, I did, and I wish I could have told her sooner, warned her of this, but I was under strict orders not to say a word.

I never thought I would fall in love, especially with this beautiful, kind-hearted woman in front of me. Even if she looks like she could kill us all in the next moment, I still loved her deeply and hated I did this.

I never let my eyes go away from hers, her eyes were completely black, not the pretty golden color that I yearned to look at.

She put her hand up for us to stop before we could reach her, and she looked around wildly. I took the opportunity to look up myself and see that both sides had many more people join them, they felt her magic like we did, it was a beacon calling us.

Acadia raised her hands and the ground seemed to shake, what was she doing? A whole bunch of people popped up across from her, they were in the middle of each group, but looking at them closely, they weren't people, they were the dead. She raised the dead like her father, man this is getting bad real quick.

"Queen Acadia, join our side, you know you want to, the power coursing through you right now is powerful. If you join us, you can let it out anytime you want to, and put those that hurt you in their place" The guy standing closer to her on the Merdique side taunted her.

"Don't listen to him Acadia, stay with us. We are on your side, we are here to protect you, I care about you" Remey told her out loud.

Acadia whipped her head towards him and let out a hysterical and scary laugh, uh oh, wrong thing to say right now.

She started elevating off the ground, her eyes never changing, and a black mist surrounding her now, she floated over to her new dead creations.

"Tsk Tsk, what shall I do" she said in a voice that I have never heard, it was deep, menacing, and vibrated every bone in our bodies.

*Remey's POV*

"Tsk Tsk, what shall I do" she said in a voice that I have never heard, it was deep, menacing, and vibrated every bone in our bodies.

I pissed her off, I know I did, I should have never said anything to her, I am such a fool. The worst part was I didn't know if I truly loved her in that type of way, I knew I missed her and wanted to protect her, but I was still sorting out my feelings.

I didn't lie when I said she was beautiful, and that I cared for her, and I was willing to marry her to protect her in any way I can. I have been with Merdique so long that I wasn't sure how to understand my feelings, maybe it was the bond of the queen I was feeling.

She held her finger on her mouth like she was thinking, and then lifted her other hand to put up a shield around her and her dead minions. She reminded me of her father at that moment, and it terrified me, he was evil, and she was so young and innocent before me and Buford broke her.

We all watched her and she did the thing we were all terrified of, she started walking towards the enemies, the guy that spoke earlier smiled at her and then turned his attention on us.

This was it, the prophecy, we caused this, now we will all die trying to protect ourselves, and our only hope just joined the other side.

"NNOOOO" Buford screamed before all hell broke loose, the fighting began. Acadia sent her minions toward us, and we all started sending our magic out to protect ourselves.

I sent a tornado wind in front of me to block the orbs flying toward us, a few people were falling on the ground by an invisible force, that must be Oscar.

Zaline had thrown some potions into the crowd while sending her ghouls out to help against the zombies that Acadia made.

Kelvin stood beside her protecting her while sending out his clones to attack as well, we were holding ourselves pretty well until Acadia started humming with that bright light.

She sent some flying toward us, a few of us dodges, some were not so lucky. At that moment I looked over to see Buford fighting with all his might trying to get to Acadia, that is when I realized I didn't truly love her like that, he did.

"Buford needs to get to Acadia! " I screamed out to anybody that could hear me.
