Chapter 106: RPG-like Leveling Training In Monster's Abode (8)

Alex's PoV:

"Which hero is in danger and what's his current situation?"

*Ferros Malum is currently inside a forest slime king and is on the verge of dying. His cause of death would be suffocation."

"System, where is Ferros' current location? I'm going to save him now."

*Ferros Malum is currently at Monster's Abode. The system can't locate Ferros' exact location because there is an array that blocks the system's detection.*

I thought of other solutions in how to pass through the array but only two solutions came to my mind.

The first one was to ask the system to provide me assistance in passing through the array if it was possible since it could even block the system's detection.

The second option would be to use my current power to temporarily destroy the array.

I wasn't strong enough to destroy the array unless the system provided me with a skill that could destroy any arrays.

I should have persuaded the God Of Worldly Systems to provide me more useful skills.

The God Of Worldly Systems had told me that he could provide me any skills but if it's too many then I wouldn't be able to handle it because of a backslash.

The God Of Worldly Systems said that the reason why most of the Gods would only bestow their blessing instead of other skills was that a mortal's soul wouldn't be able to hold many skills at once.

I was an exception so I had plenty of skills at level 1 than the other heroes.

Besides, a God's blessing was difficult to obtain than the other skills in this world so it was given much more priority to bestow it on a God's chosen hero.

*Ferros Malum only has a few minutes to live before he died at the hands of the forest slime king. The system reminds the host to focus on the main objective and start finding a way to get out of this array.

"System, would you be able to temporarily destroy the array?"

*The system is incapable of decoding the array at the system's current level. But, the host would be able to pass through the array if the host uses all of the host's strength.*

If I used all of my strength to temporarily destroy the array just to pass through it, then I wouldn't have any more strength left.

If I'm out of strength, then I wouldn't be able to defeat the forest slime king and wouldn't be able to save Ferros at the same time.

I should be able to defeat the forest slime king if Distere or Satomi would help me.

Distere and I would combine our attacks to defeat the forest slime king.

Satomi would be able to save Ferros if he attempted to pull Ferros out of the forest slime king since Satomi wouldn't die if he was suffocated by the forest slime king.

*Host! Only 5 minutes are left before Ferros would meet his maker!"

I still have 5 minutes left.

If I used a minute to decide my plan, a minute to forcibly destroy the array, a minute to recover my strength, and two minutes to save Ferros, then I might be able to save Ferros in time.

How about I use my sword technique that would deflect the attack?

If I use my mana to deflect the mana that was used to operate the array that caused me to lose my sense of direction, then it would save me plenty of mana to destroy the array and enough to save Ferros.

*Host! Only 4 minutes are left before Ferros would meet his maker!"

I materialized a mana-long sword and condensed it to the point that the mana-long sword became harder than an epic-grade weapon.

I ran towards the end of the forest that I was trapped inside and wielded my mana sword to perform continuous slashes.

I controlled the flow of mana whenever I slashed my sword into the array's mana to deflect it.

A huge hole appeared after I slashed the end of the array multiple times and it opened like a mist that was dispersed which concealed another barrier.

*3 minutes and 30 seconds left!*

I slashed the barrier but I wasn't able to destroy it but only left a dent on it.

I performed another set of sword slashes towards the barrier and the barrier slowly opened.

The mana from the array that was used to conceal the barrier started to regenerate and conceal the barrier.

I summoned another mana sword and manipulated it to prevent the mana from the array from concealing the barrier.

*3 minutes left!*

My sword attack caused a small hole from the protective barrier to appear.

"I might be able to save Ferros in time!"

********

Distere's PoV:

I had recovered 30% of my mana and was still recovering some of my mana.

The huge green slime wasn't attacking me yet while Ferros was still inside it.

Ferros seemed to be alive and kicking so I decided not to worry about him while I took my time in recovering my mana in peace.

A minute had passed and my mana had recovered at least 50 percent of it.

It was now time to save Ferros.

I'm not at my peak condition but it should be enough to attempt in saving Ferros.

Even if I failed to save him, I would be able to reason that I had at least attempted to save Ferros instead of abandoning him like a cold-hearted person.

I stood up and stretched my body and performed a quick warm-up.

I took out my kitchen knife and covered it using ten percent of my mana.

I channeled my mana throughout my body and used my mana to improve my power, speed, and reaction time.

I wielded my kitchen knife and ran towards the huge green slime.

The huge green slime noticed that I was heading towards it so the huge green slime moved its body.

I closed the distance between me and the huge green slime by jumping towards it.

The huge green slime defended itself by hurling multiple green sticky slime balls from its body.

I was still in the air and was heading towards the huge green slime so I decided to counter its attack by preventing its attack from hitting my body using my kitchen knife.

I successfully destroyed the green balls of sticky slime and I was now only 2 meters away from crashing into its body.

I threw my kitchen knife towards the body of the huge green slime and it was stuck inside the huge green slime's body.

Fortunately, it did not hit Ferros but I was forced to decide whether I should or shouldn't crash into the huge green slime's body since I would be stuck inside it due to its sticky slime.

I decided to crash into it and bet on my chances that I would be able to push Ferros which would expel him from its body.

I forwarded my hands and released all of my mana into my lower body to increase my momentum so that I would have much more force in pushing Ferros away from the huge green slime's body.

I had no choice but to come up with such a choice since I had figured that my knife attacks wouldn't do a thing against a slime that only had a liquid body.

It was basic knowledge in animes that a slime was immune to any physical attacks and its only weakness was to destroy its core.

If I fought against it head-on and slashed its body to destroy its core, then I might risk a friendly fire and would slice of Ferros' body instead.

So, I was left with no choice but to do this.

My body crashed into the huge green slime's body which splattered some of its slimes.

It allowed a gap in its body which enabled me to push Ferros and expel him from its body.

The huge green slime regenerated the slime that it had lost and it trapped me inside its body with almost no means of escape.

The kitchen knife that I had thrown was still stuck on its body but I couldn't move my body to get it.

The inside of the huge green slime's body felt like I was inside a jelly and I wasn't able to breathe inside.

The huge green slime was continuously absorbing my mana bit by bit which absorbed my recovered mana and surpassed my mana recovery speed.

My body felt weaker as time passed by due to the huge green slime sucking my mana like some sort of leech.

I double-checked to see if Ferros was fine and it seemed he was.

I did not know if he was breathing or not but at least he would be able to recover his mana which would prolong his life for a bit.

As my body started to feel weaker, my vision began to dim.

I saw through the huge green slime's body that a medium-sized hole had appeared from the forest's barrier.

I focused my eyes to have a glimpse of the hole and a figure had gone out of it.

My eyes were forced to shut close so I wasn't able to see who that figure was.

I started to lose my consciousness and so I passed out.
