Chapter 189: Talking With The System Face-To-Face In My Conciousness

Axel's PoV:

"Hello once again, host."

I heard an artificial intelligence-like voice and it woke me up from my sleep.

I saw that I was floating in a space filled with darkness. I was expecting that I would wake up in some sort of forest or the Holy Church but it seemed that wasn't the case.

I didn't even know if I was dreaming or not. It felt like deja vu.

"You aren't dreaming, host. You are currently in your consciousness right now."

A white-colored humanoid appeared in front of me and replied to me after it heard what I had thought about. It's the same voice I had heard from before that woke me up in this space.

Since the white-colored humanoid called me to host, had the same voice as the system notification, and could also hear my thoughts, I was now certain that it was the system itself.

"You are right, host. If you are wondering, no, you aren't dead. Well, not for now. Also, I had already expelled the poison out of your body but at the cost of losing your consciousness as so that's why you passed out."

The white-colored humanoid talked to me and already answered some of the questions that I had planned to ask it. The system didn't open its mouth to speak but used telepathy instead to communicate with me.

"That's a relief. Can I ask a question?"

"Ask away. As long as it's within the information that you can access, then I will answer it."

What was I going to ask again? Ah, yes. I remember now.

"How's my teammates' current condition?"

I asked the system while I had a hint of anxiety and nervousness that I had felt when I asked that towards the system.

"If you are asking whether your teammates are alive or not, then I will answer that your teammates are very much alive."

Good thing that my teammates aren't dead. I would be sad a bit if they were dead and it would also decrease the chances of the heroes' party defeating the demon lords if even one of the heroes were dead.

"Where am I unconscious at and where are my teammates?"

"You are currently lying on a bed inside a small house that you have built three weeks ago and an elven hero is sitting beside you."

So I am at the small house beside the Holy Church? That meant that my teammates were either still attacking the high-level monsters at the Monster's Abode or they had already defeated the high-level monsters and returned to the Holy Church.

There was only one elven hero at the heroes' party which was Aerin Zelfina Sylmys, a.k.a. my fiancee. Aerin must have been taking care of me while I was in this pitiful and unconscious state of mind.

"The other heroes are either in the Holy Church, the treehouse beside the small house, and the training grounds behind the Holy Church."

As I had expected, all of the heroes had already defeated the high-level monsters and they had returned to the Holy Church.

"You are slightly incorrect, host. Not ALL of the high-level monsters in the Monster's Abode that the host had battled against were dead. If I am not wrong, then the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee was still alive. Although, 99.99% of the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee's body was obliterated."

Wait, what? One of the high-level monsters was still alive? I didn't expect that. I had faith in my teammates that they could defeat and eliminate all of the high-level monsters but it seemed that my teammates had failed me.

Although, I'm still thankful for them that they arrived in time to rescue me from the high-level monsters.

"Your teammates were powerful enough to defeat almost all of the high-level monsters and not to mention that those high-level monsters were above level 70,000. But, one of the high-level monsters which were the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee possessed a Saint Rank skill that allowed it to resurrect as long as even a small portion of its body wasn't destroyed."

"It was already impressive that one of your teammates had obliterated 99.99% of the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee's body. Also, your teammate that had killed the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee had noticed that the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee was dead but at the same time alive so your teammate obliterated the body of the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee to make sure that the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee was dead. Unfortunately, your teammate had missed obliterating 0.01% of the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee's body."

It was indeed unfortunate. The level 74,500 ginormous killer bee was one heck of a monster.

Although, I had noticed during my battle against the high-level monsters that the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee was average amongst the high-level monsters and the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee mostly relied on its poison. What I didn't notice was that it could resurrect itself.

Even if I had fought and defeated the level 74,500 ginormous killer bee myself, I wasn't confident that I would be able to know about its ability to resurrect itself.

I would likely eliminate the level 74,500 ginormous killer by eating all of its flesh and it would still be a coincidence that I would eliminate it.

Anyways, what mattered was that all of my teammates were alive and well.

"Anything you wanted to ask again, host?"

"Did any of the demon lords' army attacked at least one of the kingdoms?"

I asked the system about that since I wasn't that aware of the situation outside the Holy Church.

The criminals that I had enslaved back on Eldion had yet to report to me about the demons invading Eldion so I knew that Eldion was safe for now.

I had commanded the criminals that I had enslaved to defend Eldion and also to increase their levels since I wouldn't have that much use of them if they were weak.

All of those criminals were trustworthy and it's all because of the slave contract. I wouldn't worry about them lying to me when I received a report from them. That's why I didn't worry that much about Eldion.

I don't know about the current situation in my father-in-law and mother-in-law's kingdom which was the kingdom of Sylmys but I am confident that Sylmys wasn't destroyed by the demons.

After all, there was thousand-year-old lolita that was currently defending Sylmys. Although, I don't know how long that thousand-year-old lolita could defend Sylmys since there was a peace treaty that the demons had signed with the other races.

"One of the human kingdoms was conquered by the demons and one of the human kingdoms is currently being attacked by the demons which were lead by an archdemon."

The system answered my question. I didn't expect that my question was allowed to be answered by the system since it was concerning the demons and not my teammates' condition.

"What are the demon lords' weaknesses?"

"You can't access that level of information, host."

As I had expected, I needed to increase the system's level to access that level of information. After all, it would be pretty much easy for me to win against the demon lords if I knew their weaknesses.

I did not expect that one of the human kingdoms had already been conquered by the demon army but what's that got to do with me?

My job was to only defeat the demon lords, not protect those puny humans. I didn't even know what got into my mind to even become one of those puny humans after I had been reincarnated into this world as a goblin.

I'm better off becoming an elf with an ancient bloodline or also known as an ancient elf than becoming one of those puny humans. I wouldn't want to waste one of my wishes just to become a being that had a lot of weakness and had a low lifespan.

I had decided that I would become an ancient elf after receiving a wish from the Gods since Aerin was also an elf herself.

I wouldn't be able to live longer with Aerin if I become a human that had at most 150 years worth of lifespan or stayed at being a goblin that had at most 300 years of lifespan.

I would have 7 wishes if I defeated the demon lords since the demon lords were seven. I don't know if I should be happy or angry that I could obtain 7 wishes but at the cost of having 7 demon lords.

I had not signed up to be a hero in my second life so I decided that I wouldn't be one. It's not like the God who reincarnated me into this world would force me to become a chivalrous and righteous hero.

"You are right, host. My creator, the God Of Worldly Systems had not told me nor intended to create me to force you to become a hero. You could do whatever you want in this world as long as you don't destroy this world."

Since the system said that, then I'm free to do whatever I want. I'll just retire from being a "hero" after I defeat the 7 demon lords.
